Car Insurance quote question? When I try and get a quote for some cars on either Tesco or Direct line, it tells me they cant give me a quote online and il need to ring them. Also, the browser wont let me go back, so they make you close the window and type out another quote all over again! Why do they do this? The car I want to insure is a Nissan Navara D22. I am guessing that its because its a commercial vehicle and they want to check if il be using it for commercial use. I am 18 and have had my licence for a year, and I will be the named driver on the policy, my dad being the main driver who has over 30 years NCB! I managed to get a quote for a new Navara, not the D22 version and that was about £1990. How much do you think the D22 will be? I have a question about the online insurance quote where it asks you "Age first license in the U.S". Does it mean the time you got your learner's permit? Or your actual license? Because there is a gap of around 3 years for me between the time I got my learner's permit and actually license. Car insurance quote dispute! What can I do? To make a long story short, I was quoted a price for car insurance for my 2 cars from a broker. I told her I would sign on for the insurance for the quote she gave me. She sent me an email with papers to sign off on with only 1 car on it. I called her and she told me she made a mistake and will add the the other car. I asked her what the price difference was and she told me little to nothing (after she she checked on her system). I got a letter a month later stating that the price of my insurance was $300 more than the quote. I cancelled right away explaining that wasn't the quote I got. I then later got a letter stating that I was going to be taken to collections if I don't pay $875 for being insured for 30 days, which is the cancellation fee which is 15% of the premium. The insurance company is telling me that I agreed to the contract by signing on for the insurance regardless if it was a different quote. How can I fight this?...PLEASE HELP!!! @Barry-Thanks for responding. Well, to answer your questions, I have 1 recent speeding ticket on my record and that's the only thing on my record. I do not have performance cars, and I'm in my mid 30's. I've been dealing with this particulary broker for a few years, but recenlty I was dropped by my previous insuracne company due to getting this one ticket. The broker found me this insuracne company and now since she knows there is a problem, she does not return my calls. I have spoken to her boss and I just keep getting told that I have to speak to the broker and the only way that the fee can be waved or even discussed in regards to cutting it down, is that the broker herself has to admit she made a mistake, which she will not do because the fee will then come out of her personal pocket.

Hi, I am a first time driver just under 25 (24 now and will be 25 in march 09) now what I want to know is can I change my insurance when I am 25 for a cheaper quote, even if I pay monthly and will i be penalised for doing so. I gave my personal information like Social etc. Now when I checked my credit file there are inquiries made by some insurance companies. Now my doubt is, will these effect my credit score. When using a car insurance comparing website, i typed in my details (dad's policy, me as main driver), and i got a quote from 'More Than' for £615, and when i click on the link it takes me to the 'more than' site where it shows the details as correct and the price as £615. Do you think this a good car insurance quote? I am in the UK and have driven for 3 years. I have always paid around £700-£750 a year for car insurance but after making a claim last year I lost all my 2 years no claims bonus, the new quote for this year went up to £1154, so I shopped around and have now found a quote for £680 which is the cheapest that I will have ever paid so far. When you ask for a new car insurance quote from your current or a new provider they always ask the question if you have been involved in an accident or have been pulled over recently etc, etc. My question is, do they already know this info and are they maybe testing me or do they really don't know? Why does the engine size of a car make so much difference in car insurance quotes? How is it that cars with bigger engines are much more expensive to insure? Surely a 1.0 litre car and a 2.5 V6 car both travelling at 70MPH for example will cause the same amount of damage (albeit the car that weighs more may have more momentum). Car insurance quote - why so much cheaper if I were married? A friend told me that car insurance premiums are cheaper for married women than for divorced. I just ran a dummy quote for a married woman from my current provider and it came out 30 quid cheaper than I'm paying as a divorced person. I made sure all the details were exactly the same, and selected myself as the sole driver, so the only thing I changed was my marital status. What's the story with that? If I were still married and driving my own car, why should I pay less than I do now I'm rid of my cheating conniving ex?! I've had my own policy for the last 8 years so it's not as if I've been driving on his. car insurance quote? i want to go ahead with a car insurance company and i got a yearly quote online with them,as i want to pay direct debit monthly i phoned up to see what the monthly amount was with interest charged. i just want to check that this is accurate. the yearly amount quoted was £353.95 making it £29.50 per month . they charge 8.5% interest on any direct debit or credit card payment adding the 8/5% interest they then caluclated my monthly amount to be £34.81 yet it thought that :- 8.5/100 * 353.95 = £30.09 interest 353.95 + 30.09 = £384.04 total to pay £384.04 / 12 = £32 per month is this right? i know its only £35 per month, obviously im looking for the cheapest deal possible! but i just wondered why it was a different amount? help??? ta x
