Where is a good place to get classic car insurance that will let me commute - not only use the car for shows? Most insurance that I'm looking into for classic cars are not willing to insure your car if you commute to work and school. They only want to insure cars that are used in shows, parades, etc. I will not drive my car every single day to work...maybe a few times during the week. I bought the car to enjoy it, not let it sit in the garage!
Does any insurance company offer insurance for a classic/antique car that is not parked in a garage? I'm looking to insure an old Ford pickup that I just restored. I don't plan on parking it in the garage every night and therefor wanted to find a classic car insurance policy that doesn't require a locked garage storage. Classic car Insurance questions? I have a '65 corvair 4 door hardtop. 110 hp with no seatbelts. My grandfather never thought they were important so did not order them, when he bought it new in '65. Well, i have the car now and got a quote from grundy worldwide and surprisingly it was cheap and i can drive the car any number of miles i want. i'm 16 and can't afford my insurance for my other car. So should i wait for the winter is over and then drive the corvair through the spring , summer and fall? Then when winter comes around put insurance on my other car?

How much is classic car insurance in Ontario? Hi, I'm looking at making a car purchase for the summer. I'm looking at a couple cars, including a '72 Dodge Dart and a '69 (?) Chevy Nova. I like both because they are, a) under $2000 dollars, b) are both in need of some TLC, and c) I've heard that classic car insurance CAN be cheaper than regular insurance. I'm 20 with a perfect driving record and a full G-license, but I know that doesn't usually matter to insurance companies. Any advice? I'd be buying for a daily driver, so is it even worth the effort despite the serious increase in cool-factor? I guess I should clarify my question; I'm wondering about 'insurance for a classic (ie., old) car" as opposed to 'classic car insurance'. I only ask because most online insurance quotes won't give you any quote for a car older than 1986, claiming it needs to be appraised in person by the insurer to evaluate it's worth. But a ballpark guess is really all I'm after. This isn't going to be a parade thing; it's going to be something to get from point A to B. question on best company for classic/historic car insurance? Our family has had State Farm for 70 years now, several generations, and in the last 10 years or so we have been progressively more & more disappointed in their "caring" and customer service. Maybe its just the 'assistants' that my local SF agent (who never talks to his clients any more) use, they both seem to have just horrible attitutudes, sarcastic, and act like you are a complete PITA every time you call. I even have an email from his main assistant that I asked her to forward to the actual agent because I was told he was the only one that could answer my question, and just today I was SHOCKED when I re-read the email, and saw in the "forward" of my email when his assistant sent it on to the actual SF agent, She said "This guy will just not give up, he keeps haunting me about this issue!" I couldn't freaking believe it. I was going to forward the email to SF headquarters in Bloomington IL, but then as I read more & more about state farm I saw they are completely independent agents in each office, and have literally NO ONE who is their boss or who can reprimand or correct them. This is unbelievable. If I treated my customers at my work place & gave them the rotten attitude treatment we get from our SF office here, I guarantee you I would lose my job. No one is in charge at state farm obviously. Back to my question - I recently bought a classic car I have been looking for a long time - getting it next week - it is 25 yrs old, all original & in perfect shape. My state (Maryland) lets me register the car as "Historic" if it is 20 yrs old or more. I plan to do this. I contacted my wonderful state farm office today, to get a quote on a new policy/binder for this collectors car. They apparently don't like insuring a vehicle as Historic, maybe the policy is too cheap & they do not make any money off it. The 'assistant' said the best they can do, even if I REGISTER this vehicle in Maryland as Historic & get an Historic tag, which I will do, she said the best she can do is insure it as "part time, occasional pleasure use, under 7500 miles a year". Which of course is NOT an historic policy. You can get that on ANY extra car you have in your household even if it is a 2011 model !! She did say (and I understand this being required) that "in order to have is classified as Antique/Classic/Historic, you have to have an appraisal done on the vehicle as if it just came off the show room floor -then the premiums would be much lower if you had full coverage on it, as historic/classic". So here we stand. Can someone out there please help me understand - am I being taken for a ride by my State Farm office? Should I shop around for insurance companies that just specialize in Classic/Historic auto insurance? If so can anyone recommend the best companies that specialize in reasonable insurance for classic/historic vehicles? Thanks for your help. .

Is there any classic car insurance company serving NJ that caters to teen drivers (I'm 18)? I'm planning on buying a 76 Superior Cadillac Ambulance to make my daily driver, as well as a fun project. I need to find an insurance company that will insure it as a classic car under my name (I'm 18). Most insurers, such as Hagerty and JC require any drivers be 25 or over. From Progressive, I would pay about $2k a year for just liability. My parents have New Jersey Manufacturers, the cheapest credible insurance in new jersey. I could get a policy with them. I pay about $1000 a year in liability for my 95 volvo turbo. I'm just trying to figure out if there'd be a difference in price between that and this ambulance.

MGB GT Classic Car Insurance? I have heard, and read, of 17 year olds boys getting insured on MGB GTs as their first car at 17, even at a reasonable cost in some cases. I assume this is due to the fact they cannot be considered the "average" boy racer car. I would like to ask if anyone out there has got insured on an MGB GT as their first car, and if possible what sort of figure you would be looking at. I would certainly consider the "pass plus" and the car can be garaged. It may also be important for be to share the fact that I am asking this in relation to insurance within the UK. Does anyone know where I can get insurance for a classic car without having insurance on a daily driver? I have a classic car that i want to insure as an antique car. However, no one will insure it without me having preexisting insurance on a daily driver. I don't own any other cars. They want 4000.00 for 6 months if i register it as a daily driver. I can't afford that.

Car insurance, they didn't take payment, was I insured? I have a classic car insurance policy with two cars on it, the policy started on one car but I later added a second. I have just taken the second car off the policy but it turns out the insurance company never took the payment for it to be added due to an error on their behalf, they did sent me the insurance certificate etc. My question is... Had I been in an accident in the second car would I still have been insured? or would they have tried to get out of paying the claim ? Also because they only noticed the error when I called to cancel the second car they want me to pay them for the time the car was "covered". I have a 1992 Ford Probe LX. Will it become a classic car in 10-20 years? I love the design of this car and am the first owner. However, I have already replaced the engine twice and afraid that keeping it will only cost me more money including insurance. Would it be a bad idea to get a classic car (60s-70s) as my first? I'd figure it won't cost as much to get a used classic car, especially one that's beat up a bit. That would give me time to work on the car myself, gain some experience along the way, and customize it to my own wants. However, thinking about this makes me feel worried that it's not a safe idea, due to the lack of safety features back then. I'd also have to learn on a manual, which I have no experience on. Car accident and insurance fraud? My son was in a car accident. Thank heavens he was fine. However, he has a nice classic car that he and his father were trying to fix up. The other kids insurance company gave us a check to get the car fixed but when we took it to get fixed we found some frame damage. Because of this he is considering parking the classic car - working on fixing it as he gets the money and taking the insurance money to get a new - used daily driver. My husband is concerned that this may be considered insurance fraud. I'm not sure. Mint 89 deVille insurance? Ok, I had collision on the 89 Sedan deVille. The car is in beautiful shape- not a scratch on her, no sign of rust, engine is in perfect order (i've been gradually doing upgrades on things...hoses, fuel pump etc.....) People just oogle the thing when they see it, and their jaws drop when I tell them she just hit 122,000 miles. Still a pup! However, in a private resort, on Christmas Eve night, while driving SLOW, I couldn't make a turn on a very slick hill/turn and she just slid into a guard rail. According to the initial assement (crooks they are) she was a total loss (2400 in repairs, Blue Book is at about 2500) She needs a new bumper, headlight, side light and the parts that go along with that. So really just a cosmetic problem. Is there any insurance for this age of vehicle that is in supreme shape? I know there is "classic" car insurance, but she may be too young for that... but it's a classic anyhow and I'd like to keep her protected. Do I have any further options? Thanks much!!

1988 Iroc Camaro classic insurance for an 18 y.o.? I priced the car on my own policy as a daily driver car, it's 140 a month. Insurance totaled car - I can't get reimbursed for smog check? This is in California. They are reimbursing tax, license, etc. They have come up with the final figures (I submitted comps). The accident was not my fault (I was sitting still at the time waiting on a light) and I feel I should be reimbursed for all my losses. The smog cost was $75 only one month before the loss and its not like I had any choice. When you sell a car, the fact that it passed smog is a selling point. Insur says NO, it does not add value. So I am out my money for that too along with the sting of losing my classic car I babied for 20 years? Do I have any recourse in getting the $$ from the at-fault party? BTW, this is under the new smog test law which took effect in December 97. It adds on another test at $20 more than the old test.

Last year, I had my cars on a regular insurance policy and I paid $12/mo for the Campmobile and $36/mo for the Beetle(The campmobile was cheaper because it qualified for the multicar discount). This was for state min coverage--liability only. Do you think classic car insurance would save me much money? Any Insurance Agents/Adjusters out there? I am a lady in my 60's. I am a car person, having Classic Shows Cars for years. So...I take great care of all my cars. They are in A1 condition. I have an '85 Buick Regal that I have been paying full coverage insurance on for 22 yrs. The car is immaculate. Blue book at this point is very low. Under $2,000. I recently hit a tree with the right front of the car and the estimate is $3,200 to fix it. Needs a fender, hood and other items. The insurance company says they will not pay to fix it because the value is lower that the cost to fix it. BULL I told them. I have been paying you for 22 yrs and have FULL ($300 deductible) COVERAGE. What Legal Theory are you using? If I pay you, then you pay me, no matter what the cost is. That is what I pay that premium for every year. My question: How can they do this? It can't be legal! If they won't fix it then they should return all my premiums. right? to: "fighting saints" Yes, I do have my classics insured with specialty insurance. One car is insured for $100,000, so I know about that. Just angry that they will not pay for the repairs. The car is NOT a total wreck. It can easily be fixed.

getting a car retitled? just got a ford maverick for free but it has a salvage title how do i get it retitled back to a regular title? I am a 15 year old, on Cape Cod, and I was wondering is a 65-67 mustang right for a new car? I have loved mustangs since i was little, and i have always dreamed of having one for my first car. There are two issues that are swirling in my head, insurance, and gas. I understand mustangs of that age got like 12-15 MPG, and it will be expensive to fill up. But my concern that i do not know is, can i drive a mustang as a "commuter" car? I have seen insurance policies for classic cars and they have limitations on the amount of miles you can drive a year. Can you just buy a normal insurance policy on an old car, one with unlimited mileage? P.S. I know the danger with an old mustang, no airbags, ESC, drum brakes. But i do have experience in driving, I have driven in Syria, and if you can drive there, you can drive anywhere. I am ALSO interested in an automatic. What is the most reliable type of classic car to buy for between £1500 and £3000? I'm looking to buy a classic car for not too much money (no more than £3000) and was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on a good all rounder. How long do you keep your no claims if you are not currently using it? My husband has full UK no claims discount, but is not insuring a vehicle with it this year, next year he will want to use it again to insure a car for our son to learn in. Will he still be able to use his no claims discount or will he have to start at the beginning again? Should I keep my 1995 Caprice or buy a new Econo Car? I have a 1995 Chevy Caprice Classic with 73,000 miles on it that runs well and is in great shape.
