New car discounts in 2009? Do you think there will be good discounts available in 2009 on new cars, even if it's a new model (e.g. the Golf) due to the current economic climate? Or can they still ask full price if it's a new model?
New car discounts - EC Directive January 1st.? I heard an artice earlier today on Radio 5 Live regarding some new cars that will not be able to be sold after December 31st because they will not comply with a new EC law which comes in to force on January 1st - something to do with 'Euro 4 Compatible' I believe. Anybody add a little more information please?
volume discounts at new car dealerships? i wanted to know that if i brought 70 people in one day to a car dealership that specialises in selling new cars what type of discount could 70 people be looking at. They would be buying cars in the range of 30 - 40 g's. Buddy Tanner your making it seam like you would be the type of business person to turn down 70 people at once because you wouldnt making top dollar on the sales. Whereas if you look beyond that it can sometimes takes a car dealership 1 month to sell 70 new while here someone comes to you offering to give you a chance to make a quick 70 sales obiously you would want to give some sort of discount its part of business.

I want to buy a new car for cash, the dealer has the model & colour in stock that has been used as a demo model it has 200 km mileage, what $ discount can I expect off the driveaway price of $34,590 paid in cash? I get an employee discount on a new car. What does 1% over invoice mean? I'm planning on getting a new car (Mazda6) in the next few months and I get an employee discount at the local Mazda dealer for 1% over invoice. I've never thought about it, but what does that mean? My natural assumption is that the price would be 1% more than the manufacturing price of the car, but I'm not sure if I'm right.
Is it right for the Government to use tax payers money to discount new cars? After years of making motorists out to be the worse thing that could ever happen to the planet, is it right to use tax payer's money to give discounts on on new car purchases? Surely anyone who can afford to buy a brand new car will probably not be driving a banger anyway, so it's nothing to do with the environment but just another tax break for the more well off.. again. Paid for by the less well off.
What kinds of discounts does Honda offer on new 2008 Accords? I'm graduating from college in a month and will be an active duty military member. I'm looking to buy a new car and hoping there are some discounts that may apply to my situation. I have my mind set on the 2008 Honda Accord LX. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Good military discounts for car insurance? My husband is a Marine, we recently bought a new car and we're looking for good car insurance, preferably with a military discount! Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks!

Buying a new car has changed -- How do you negotiate now? I've gone to a couple of dealerships and have tried contacting dealers over the Internet. All of the prices I'm getting from all of these locations are within $100 of each other. Nobody is willing to negotiate. I recall the days when you could really "wheel and deal" on cars, getting some good discounts if you were willing to haggle. Are the days of haggling over? Or is there a new rulebook that I should follow to get a better deal?
Has anyone ever heard of www.new-car-discount.com? My boyfriend ordered a car with them late Feb, and the delivery time was early- mid April. It kept being pushed back, and today he found out that they have gone into administration. Has anyone had any problems like this with other so called car companies? Have we been conned? Please people. I need your help, if you could just stop answering, Do I Look Fat questions, it would be great!
is Leasing a new car a bad idea for someone young and just starting out? i work at a dodge dealership and although i love the salesmen, i'm still not sure if i can trust them to not take advantage of a young gal trying to get into a new car... i do get discounts... and my current car is broke down... and not worth fixing... i'm able to lease a new dodge caliber for 3years at only 215/mo. is it worth it?
Is when the economy is bad is the best time to buy a new car? Cause when the economy recovers and gets better inflation will jump and that new car will increase in price, and interest rates will also jump up. The people that assemble the cars in a bad economy are doing a better job because they have more fear of losing their job. The car dealers are desperate and offer better discounts when the economy is bad.
How to get discount when buying a new car? I want a prius that costs 23500 but they ended up charging me for 29000 (including tax and all that shit). Is this normal? Is there any way I could get a discount as much as possible? How to ask for it? Thanks

Where can I look online to find something like this out? Is there somewhere online to look for discounts, deals, promotions? What else should I know/ look into If I'm a first time car buyer?
how could the military help me buy a new car? im looking to buy a new car. im in the army national guard and i was wondering how that could help me buy a new car? is there any benefits that i could use to help me out? im thinking about using USAA Auto loan... is there any car dealerships that give discounts to the military?
Whats the best price reduction you received on an almost new used car? Im looking to get a new car but im getting a used one. At least one that has 250 miles to 7000 miles... Prices range from $21,999 to $19,999 and im just wondering what are some acceptable discounts that one can expect? $1000 off? $2000 off? Im sure its different everywhere but I figured I would ask anyway.
Buying a new car...cash discount?? I recently visited a showroom to enquire about a new VW Golf match. When I brought up the subject of discounts for cash and no trade in I was told it made little difference. I'm sure that if i'd gone to do a deal there would have been something. Anyone with recent experience in these matters?
There is a small crack on my new car, should I ask for a discount before I buy it? I am about to buy a certified, pre-owned 2006 Honda Pilot and I found a small crack beneath the back right tail light. Of course the salesman shrugged it off and said it's nothing, but I am wondering if I should ask for a discount of some sort, and if so, how much? Or should I simply ask for them to fix it up before I drive it off the lot today?
What is the maximum mileage a brand new car should have at the time of purchase? Should my new vehicle have 125 miles on it prior to me driving it off the car lot? How many miles should a new vehicle have on it at the time of purchase? Is this unacceptable or is it a rare but common practice. Should I have received an additional discount, my feelings say yes. Please help me to understand this matter. As always thank you in advance.
Can I buy a new car and have it delivered to another dealer in a different state? I plan to order it direct from the factory, but since I'm moving from Massachusetts to Arizona soon, I've decided it would be easier to pick up the car from a dealer in Arizona. (I'm not in the mood to drive from Massachusetts to Arizona). Can I coordinate this with a Massachusetts dealer? Also, I'd like to register the car in Massachusetts and have it insured there, because Massachusetts law requires insurers to grant discounts to drivers with Lojack. (Arizona law does not). I'll be a full-time student in Arizona.
What is Total Cost to bring home a new Car? I am looking to buy a new car :say Corolla( 2009 Toyota Corolla MSRP:$16050, Invoice:14,845) (Assuming i dont get any discount on MSRP) Being a first time buyer, I need to know what are other expenses in car buying? Can you get discounts on a car if you're paying in cash? I'm going to be buying a new car soon and it will be paid in full right away. This is my first time buying a car but I know that you never pay sticker price...well I was just messing around online and built a car with the MSRP of $33,630. Is there any way to get the car under $30,000? Or how much do they usually take off cars?
New York car insurance, LoJack discount for Allstate? Hi all, I currently have Allstate car insurance and I bought a new car with a LoJack installed. When I tried to get the discount, they only took off $7 per month on my policy.. Looking online, I discovered that New York state mandates that car insurance companies must give a discount for LoJack, but I'm not sure how much. The LoJack website isn't very clear on the subject, saying 25% for NY but I'm not sure if that means up to 25% or a mandated 25%... Anyone happen to know? I'm having trouble finding any concrete information. Here's the info from LoJack I found: http://www.lojack.com/car-insurance-discount.html Thanks!

Where to get discounts for plane tickets? And rental car discounts? I need to buy plane tickets for Massachusetts or Maine from Orlando, and I need some discount tickets because I will be flying there every month. Any suggestions besides travelocity and other websites? I'd rather have some super discounts from buying other stuff or similar. Thanx.
Car insurance discounts for high school and college students? What are ways in which high school and college students can get discounts. For example, I know that if you've taken a driver's course and have a B average (or something to that extent), you are qualified to get a certain percentage off of your car insurance. Can someone please clarify this information for me please? (Please don't list all of the determinants of insurance factors, like age of vehicle or type of vehicle. That's not what I'm asking for. ^^;) Thanks in advance. (I'm with Allstate!)
Discounts for renting a car for 40 days in 20 different towns? Hello, I expect to be doing a lot of travelling soon. I will visit about 20 destinations in North America, and I will need to rent a car at each one. Would you know of any big car rental franchise that would give me a big discount for renting cars from them for a total of 40 days, in 20 different towns? Thanks!
How do you get discounts on hotels or car rentals? It seems everytime I try to get a hotel/motel room or rent a car the price is extreme. I don't like to be a slave to reservations and deposits because it complicates life if you need to change or cancel reservations. I find it hard to believe that working class people will spend more than 150 dollars a night a hotel and I don't like to spend more than 70 dollars a night but still I think that is extreme. Maybe corporate accounts get big discounts? I previously worked at Boeing and their corporate discount was only ten percent I think. And renting cars, that is obvious when they rob you. I always like to rent a towncar and I got them for as low as 65 bucks a day but other times they try to charge 120 bucks. I know it matters what day of the week you rent. One day standing at a rental car counter they said i could not get a better rate without a reservation so I wrote down their telephone number and walked twenty feet away and took my cell phone out made a reservation and walked back
Are there any army discounts for car loans/ refinancing an existing car loan? I have an 06 RSX that I bought with a 625 credit score and pay like 500 a month w/ 9-11% interest I think. When I bought it I had 3,000 in credit card debt and had only had a credit history of 2 years. Now that I am 21 and have 3 years of credit history, and have paid off all my debt down to 0, plus made payments on this car for 1 year, I was planning on refinancing the car this year. I am doing this mainly so I can afford the car when I am in the army this year, however I was wondering if the army can provide any discount (like a credit union) for re-financing if I sign an allotment or something so the creditor is sure they will get their money. Anyone have any info on this? @ Kathy I know how a credit union works and I believe my credit is at something like 710, but I know the army has a lot of discount worked out with various institutions and I was wondering if being the army would help lend me credit for something like a refi. Obviousely I would only be doing this once I have been in for at least 6 months.
Ever heard of promotional code hacks for car rental or hotel discounts? You know there are hacks and cracks for software serial numbers and license codes and I was just wondering if anyone ever heard of a hack or crack to get a discount on car rental or hotel reservation. When you make a reservation on line or otherwise there is such a thing as a promotional discount code to get a further discount. I don't think this is a big deal cause when I rent a hotel room they ask if I have any AAA or other. Often when I ask if they have a discount for a hotel room they just give me the AAA discount. I don't think the premise of a promotional discount is that special anyway. One example of a promo code I think is if an airline and a car rental company is working together and if you buy an airline ticket they give you a promo code on the ticket envelope to apply to a car rental discount to get you to select the car rental company they are partners with
How do no claims discounts on car insurance work? In 2005 I had 5yr no claims, later that year I moved abroad and have travelled around Europe for past 15 months, I just bought a newish car and have been shopping around for best Insurance deals, my problem is, do I still have my 5 yr no claims even though I havent had a car or insurance for almost 2 yrs? Do rental car companies check ID when using corporate discounts? I see that there are a lot of postings online with Corporate discount codes for booking online with rental car companies. When using a corporate discount code, do they make you show proof that you qualify? I found a corporate ID code to use at Dollar, but I'm afraid at the time of rental they won't give me the discount without some sort of corporate ID. Has anyone else used these discount codes without any trouble?
Car insurance companies that offer discounts for defensive driving course in NC? I am 23 and have an accident and a ticket from an accident on my license that are kinda new. I think the accident was in July or August 2008. I want to take the course for reduced insurance but some companies that I have asked say that they don't give reduced rates. Does anyone know of any company, big or small, that offers reduced insurance in North Carolina for someone who is under 25 with recent points added? Does North Carolina even do the defensive driving course?
what discounts do allstate offer for car insurance? my dad has allstate and i was wondering what types of discounts allstate offers its clients. the only one i know about is the "good student discount" for students with good grades. are there any other types of discounts that are offered by allstate?
What are the benefits as a SAG member? I have a SAG car, so where can I go to get discounts? I have a SAG card, and I remember reading that i get discounts on stuff, do you know where? It works better if you become eligible first because you have to book jobs inorder to be SAG, now thats now all true, as soon as you become SAG, you can't do non-union stuff. Now thats good if you"ve became eligible for SAG, but if your new in the business I suggest you stay non-union. It costs about $2,000
Should i buy a new car? I have a 2004 model that went out of Bumper to bumper waranty last week. I am ahead on it about $2000. I work for a company that is contracted by an auto manufactorer and can get a discount. My car is not luxurious it's a point a to point b and ocasionally point c kind of car. My current debt is the car and a credit card that has about 3500.00 on it. My payments are $209.00 I would like to stay in this range (which doesn't leave much room for moving up). I worry about out of warranty repairs. the veh came with a 5/100 powertrain, and i have 1.5 years left on my loan. would it be worth it to trade and get a new vehicle?
I bought a brand new car that had around 550 miles on it. Is that normal or did I get ripped off? Since I've always shopped for used cars, I thought having several hundred miles on a brand new one is not a big deal, but a friend of mine told me that they were supposed to discount the price for the mileage. I still think I got a good deal - I paid almost $2000 below invoice for a 2007 model, but I feel a little uncomfortable with the deal I got because of the mileage. What do you think?
Is it possible to get a free discounted car in exchange for advertising? Lets say I approached the marketing dept. of a local dealer and offered to advertise with magnetic signs on a car they allow me to drive. I drive across the two major counties in their demographic nearly 60 miles going to and from work, 5 days a week. I need a new car but am hard up in the credit dept. I figure this would be a great way to score a ride. Realistic pitch or not?

Any good deals you can share on a New Car? I have been having car troubles and will need to trade in soon. Problem is I owe more than the appraisal value....roughly $6000.00 more. I will need to roll this negative equity into a new car......what is the best way to go about doing this? Am I better looking for a vehicle with a great rebate or using a Chrysler discount?
How to negotiate with dealer for a new car? I am planning to buy a car from worth 9.2 lacs ex-showroom price. What is the maximum cash discount I can expect from the dealer? Any other negotiation tips that can be useful?
How to get into a new Car Insurance? About 1.5 yrs back my wife scratched another car while parking. The claim was settled using insurance. The expense was about $1500. Ever since that the insurance company, AAA, has been increasing our premiums by abt $35 on every renewal. Now I cannot switch or shop with other insurance company since they give quotes much higher than this company. But apart from this one incident we do not have anything else on our record. Also I get discount for Home+Auto insurance. The company increased prices on our Home Insurance too. I am badly stuck with this company now. I would like to buy Auto+home from one company itself. But I really cannot move my Auto Insurance. Please give suggestions.
I want to buy a new car. Will I get a better price if I pay cash or take a loan that I pay off immediately? I am in a position to pay for a new car with cash. I am curious: will I be in a better bargaining position if I approach the dealer with cash (yes, those green papery things with dead presidents on them) or if I get a loan and pay it off right away? I figure that if I offered cash, the dealer might give me a discount. On the other hand, with a loan the dealer might think they'll make some money on the interest and will offer a lower price. What do you think?
