New Car Prices Knowledge Base
Is it true that New Car prices vary through out the USA? My father told me that today. If it is true then I might just buy a plane ticket and take a roadtrip back. Is it true though? How much do new cars cost in your city? Im in Bakersfield, California. Ive been thinking of getting a Mazda 3 Hatch. 19,000 fot the "sport" and 22,000 fir the "GT". I dont believe that car prices change by city but you never know.
Why are used car prices sometimes higher than the same car new? I have been puzzled for years why I see 1 or 2 sometimes 3 year old used vehicles at the same price level or even higher than a new car? Perhaps I have been missing something but it seems that not only am I paying the new car price for used but also have to pay higher interest rates for a loan. Where is the advantage?
Do new car prices vary from state to state? I live in Chicago and am planning on buying a new car. Indiana is about 15 minutes away and I'm wondering if I would get a better deal from there. I know that dealerships in the suburbs are cheaper than ones in the city. But would another state offer better deals?
Best web sites for new car actual invoice prices? I'm in the market for a new car, but don't want to get played. I just want to spend no more than $500 over invoice. Besides edmunds.com, can anyone recommend some good sites for researching car prices (actual invoice that the dealer pays, not msrp)? Thanks!
How much does car prices drop (on average) when the new cars come out? I am looking to get a used vehicle. I am wanting a 2007 Tahoe LTZ. I know the prices go down on cars when the new models come out (about Sept. Oct). About how much does the price drop when a car is an additional year older? If a car now is $28,000 - $33,000 range, what would be a reasonable guess of what it would be when the prices drop when the 2011 models come out?
Can you haggle on new car prices? I am a female and I don't want to go up there not fully prepared.I know the model of car I want and what options as well as the price range. Now I just need some tricks of the trade.Help?
New car prices and add ons, are they legal? After agreeing the trade in and price of a new little car I found an additional Administration Fee added on, the salesman said it was a Government Requirement [ It was £175 & this is a large well known car dealership] Is this correct? Or am I being cheated?
Is there any way to buy a new car without paying so high prices? I mean, I want to buy a new car for about 13000 or 14000. I have the money but dealers dont care about getting the cash and lower the price. They want to finance with high prices, interest rates, 60 months, full coverage, etc. so they do business with you. Why should I have to do that? Is there any other way? Any way to be free of the financing trap? Any way to contact individuals willing to sell new or almost new cars at real prices?
Do car dealerships take money off of the sticker prices of new cars? My wife and I went to a car dealership and were looking to buy a new 2010 Ford Fusion. The salesman refused to take any money off the 23,000 sticker price besides the 1000 trade in no matter . We walked away from the dealership feeling a little upset. We were under the impression that dealerships would negotiate with you and that you should never pay the sticker price on the car. Is this incorrect?
At what point will rising oil and gas prices effect new car sales? The price of oil and thus gas is rising, it was predicted to hit over $4 a gallon before the turmoil in the middle east. Now with everything going on in Egypt, Libya and elsewhere it certainly will hit that mark and probably go much higher before years end. At what point will the rising cost of oil/gas cause people to stop buying new cars again, mainly larger vans and SUVs that companies like GM build? One of the things that led to GM hitting hard times several years ago was the rising cost of gas, will this happen again?
if new car ads for dealership show unbelievable prices but say "Several to choose" is it too good to be true? I live in a big city where large new car dealership advertise in the newspapers with unbelievable prices (thousands less than what the car usually sells for) on new cars. However, usually in small print it will always say "Several to choose" or "few to choose." Is there any chance of actually getting the new car at the lower price or is it just another ploy to get you into the dealership? Has anyone ever gone to the dealer and got a new car for the reduced "special" print ad pricing?
Have new car prices gone up? I bought a new Camry LE in 05 for 17K, I bought a new Cobalt in 07 for 12,800. Now a little clown car like Mazda 2 is selling for 15K. What gives?
Where can I find 2009 new car prices.? I've seen different places on the web that have new car price info but you have to submit a name. When you do that, of course, every yahoo dealer in the country is waiting at your front door. I just want the real cost of the car.
New car price and feature comparison? I'm looking for a web page where I can compare different new car makes and models by price and by features. Where you can line up different models, see prices and features, change the features and see how that effects pricing..... I would also like to be able to find lowest possible price for different makes/models. I remember seeing a site like this a few years ago, but now when I search all I find is "sponsored" sites, Edmonds, Car and Driver, that don't give you the straight unbiased information. I didn't find Yahoo Auto very helpful. Anybody?
New car purchase prices in Florida? Do these prices seem a little high or about right? This is my first car (first title, tag, ect) $662 tax $659 title $279 new tag I bought the car at Kendall Toyota $7,998 - no need to scream ;) Sorry. The car I purchased was a used car an '04. Why is there such a fluctuation in new car prices per dealer? How can some dealers afford to offer under MSRP from the factory and get away with it? Example I built a new 5.0 Mustang and the base price is 37k but some dealers have quoted me less and the webpage says price varies per zip code. But they all come from the same factory don't they? I bought a new 04 Super Duty F250 in late 04 and got it for a steal 25k and sticker was 36k but the 05's were coming out. Can a dealer sink prices a LOT to move cars and still bust even or make a profit? Is the best time to buy a new car when the next years hit the lot?
have new car prices skyrocketed over the past 5 years? five and a half years ago I was able to purchase a brand new truck. I had to finance it, with nonexistent credit I got a horrible interest rate, but I could afford it. I just took a look at the price of the very same vehicle I purchased 5 years ago, it hasn't changed much, no new features, no new redesigned anything(ford ranger, it hasn't changed in like 20 years), and with the same set of features the vehicle is like $7000 more than what I paid 5 years ago! Did I simply get an incredible deal, or did inflation really push the price of new vehicles that much higher? I mean if in a five year period the price of new cars increases that much, 39%, then maybe cars are more of a profitable investment lol. I know at one point during my repayment period I actually owed less than what I could have sold it for used at the time. I always thought it was supposed to be the other way around. Im afraid, since I have no desire to go into debt for a car again, that when this vehicle breaks down I wont be able to even afford a used one.
is the price of a new car about to soar? -as the prices of steel, copper, etc have increased so much and energy prices gone up. OK, car parts suppliers will have agreed the price they will pay for metals a number of months in advance but when that period expires...Perhaps the price of a new car will be 30% more in a year. Used car prices will follow the increases, maybe I should change my car now.
What is the current lowest priced new car in the US? In 1986, the Yugo was the lowest priced car in the US at under $4000. What is the lowest priced new car that can be found on a car lot today? Zero options, stripped down etc...? This isn't something I'm going to buy...I was just curious if anybody knew...
Has the continuing rising gas prices made you feel apprehensive about buying a new car? What I mean is, what if you go out and invest 30K into a new car, and then due to political instablity oil and gas prices go way up to unheard of amounts. Then it seems the resale value of your gasoline-powered car will nosedive. Everyone will be waiting for a new fuel technology to emerge and gas powered cars will sit. Ethanol is a bust so having an E-85 engine isn't much comfort. Am I simply getting caught up in all the media doom, or is this a worry that is shared by rational people?
Are we being conned Have new car prices gone down? as they say, to make us more in line with the rest of Europe I dont think so because they have taken out things like fog lights and you have to pay again for them if you want them. .And its still cheaper to buy an import from say Malta,
What is the lowest priced new car with an automatic transmission? I don't care what make or model; we're looking to buy a new car in a year or so and are just wondering what some of the cheapest ones are. Don't care about power windows or all that extra stuff; just want the cheapest thing out there with an automatic. We just kind of need to know what the lowest starting price is.

Are car prices in different regions of the country? Are car prices (new and used) ifferent in the west coast (California) compared to East Coast (New York, Philadelphia)? I will be moving to California in a few months and was wandering if it is better to buy a car here and than ship it to California, or should I wait and buy a car in California.

Do you think using recycled scrap metal from cars & trucks would work to hopefully insure cheaper car prices? Metals are at a boom right now but, gas prices are turning Americans inside out literally to search for must needed extra money to pay for gas. Bur, what if instead of leaving cars to rot in abandoned car lots. We recycle the car and trucks to make new more durable and reliable vehicles. If it cost the same to make new metal for cars as t does to recycle then why not recycle. You may not save money recycling but, you will help leave a cleaner world for future generations and thats priceless.
How much will car prices go down in two years? I just turned 14, and decided that I want to start saving for a car. I'm dead-set on getting a honda element. I wanted to know about how much car prices will go down. For example, if a 2006 model is about 16,000 now, how much do you think it will it be in two years when I get my license.
Can anyone tell me about Spanish car prices? Can anyone give me some information regarding Spanish car prices? A few years ago new Spanish cars were cheaper there than in the uk, is this still the case or have they caught up with us?
New and second-hand car prices? I've recently been learning about finance: profit and loss. We have been assigned to find the first-hand and second-hand car prices of the same car. I need a list of ten cars. Could you please set your answer out like this: Car: First-hand price: Second-hand price: Years of use (second-hand): Thank you!
Will the bailout bill lower car prices? I'm planning on buying a car something this week, but if the current economic condition will lower car prices, I want to wait..? If so, can you estimate how much the price will drop?
How do you talk down or bargain car prices? In January I want to buy a new 08 or 07 Honda Cr-v. It would be my first time buying a car on my own. Do you have any suggestions how to bargain a price down? And do people bargin down by hundrads or thousands? Thanks in advance for you help
What is the best way to sell a car? (price, ease of selling, etc) To a used car dealer? New car dealer? I have a 2004 Nissan 350z grand touring. I have had it for less than a year and don't need a car anymore. I still owe a significant amount to my financing company. I know selling on my own on ebay or something has the best price but I want to sell it now and have ease of transferring over the financing and such. Any idea on the amount to expect? Should I sell to a random high-end used car dealer? Or a nissan dealership?
Have you seen any data on hike in European car prices (BMW, Audi) in the US due to the weakening dollar yet? I am trying to determine if we can expect prices of European manufactured cars such as BMW, Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen to increase in the near future due to the continued strength of the Euro against the dollar. So I was wondering if anyone has compared prices of European vehicles sold in the US over the last one year to see any upward pricing pressure? Any response would be valuable. Even if someone has a theory about why that upward pricing pressure may or may not materialize due to mitigating factors, please feel free to share. Thanks.
How much should car prices have fallen now that the economy has tanked? ? I'm looking to buy a Honda Accord or a Toyota Camry. I know that car dealership sales have tanked (I met someone that said they're selling 85% less than before). I feel like a car that I would have bought for $18,000 before, I should be paying $13,000 for now. But, I haven't seen it in prices. Am I looking in the wrong place? Why haven't car prices fallen?
What will happen to car prices when/if an auto company goes bankrupt? The auto industry, at least the American side of it, is struggling right now. And it looks like one or two of them may go under. I was wondering just how much of a cut we'd see in the prices if that company would fail. Example: if Ford goes bankrupt, how much do you think a new Mustang would cost?
Are car prices going up or down? I'm 16 and I've been keeping an eye on my cars lately to see what the prices are. I noticed that the prices are actually going up, contrary to the people who say it will go down due to the economic crisis we have right now. I noticed that the mitsubishi lancer starting price rose from 13k to 15k and about 1k difference on the other cars. Alot of other answers on yahoo say that it is actually going to go down within months Whats really going to happen to the car prices?
Car Prices in Canada way out of Line? This question is for Canadians buying new cars in Canada. There is a big price difference betrween here and US. What can we do to get the same prices here as well. As it stands now, US and Canadian dollar is even value.
Negotiating car prices in different cities? Is it true that I could get a better deal (talking about Honda CRV here), and more room to negotiate final sales price if the car is bought at a larger dealership in a bigger city compared to smaller dealership in smaller city? Or is it solely linked to the maker (Honda)? I want to buy a CRV and although Honda doesn't have too many incentives at the moment, especially on the CRV, should I drive 3 hrs away to a bigger city and get a better deal? What would you consider a while longer? Another year? 6 months? Until the warranty expires? Right now I am driving about 16K miles a year, so that warranty will expire before I am done with payments. It is not giving me problems now, but I have already replaced the power steering pump (under extended warranty) and the transmission gave me problems at 18 months, another repair under warranty). I do need to replace the tires, and since it's reaching 60K, the maintenance recommended would be around $500. Another thing to consider. never mind my last added details. I don't know why I posted it here! I do see what you're saying about service.
Why would the temporary title from my new car show an incorrect purchase price? We recently bought a new car (dealer demo) with about 5300 miles. The purchase price on our temporary title shows about 12K less than the price we paid for the car. It just so happens that we traded in our old car and that price difference is the same as the payoff on our trade in. We know we didn't roll any of our trade in on the new car loan because we got our car loan directly from our bank...not from one of the banks the dealership uses to finance people. So, why would the purchase price on our title not show the price we actually paid for the car?
