The dealer claimed he had located a car 400 miles away on Saturday and charged me $300. 00 extra for trucking fees. He took a $200 down payment on Saturday and charged it to my credit card. Buying NEW 2009 Mazda 6 in 2011. Comments, suggestions? It's 2011, and my local Mazda dealership has a 2009 Mazda 6 V6 listed at 28,000 CAD and "new" not used. I have a couple of questions for somebody familiar with this Mazda Model 2009 Mazda 6 V6. 1) how good of a car is this? I like this car, but am concerned about fuel economy, reliability, and buying something that is 2 years old as "new" 2) Specifically, how could a dealership have a 2009 car as "new"? Can I trust this car? Is it going to be reliable? What if it stood outside for a long time? The disc brakes do show a bit of rust, but not wholly rusted out. I am yet to pop the hood, as the keys could not be found at the time (glitch in the system) 3) what questions should I ask he dealership? 4) How would the gas mileage compare with a 2000 Dodge Caravan V6 (not grand caravan) 5) Finally, can somebody who owns this car comment on this particular model? Should I go with any other year's V6 Also, I don't know what options it's got exactly, all I know is that it has a moon roof (open window on top). Any other feedback is welcome. Should I buy a new or used car (What is the better value)? Used cars seem to be a lot of money right now. I looked at Chevy Malibu's for around 13 grand used as 2008-2009 models or I could buy new car for around 16 or 17 grand (Ford Fiesta). The dealers told me "Japanese Cars" such as Toyota and Honda last longer and will hold their "value" longer. NEW 2009 car I'm buying has 1,200 miles - How do I haggle price? There is a fully loaded 2009 sedan I am looking to buy from a dealership. However, I noted that it does have over 1000 miles on its odometer. Can I haggle down the price, not only because it is an '09 model that I'm sure they want off the lot, as well as the high mileage? They have 2 other '09's on their lot, but those only have around 40-60 miles on them. Would I be justified in asking for a lower price because the 1000 miles is going to hurt my warranties? For example, I have a 2 yr/24,000 mile warranty on the battery. Having 1,000 miles already reduces the length of all of my warranties. How would I go about it? Do I go WAY below, say a few thousand? Or do I just go a few hundred? Any help or advice on haggling would be appreciated. I am a single full-time student working a full-time and part-time job to support myself and don't really have anyone to turn to for help, but I know I should be able to talk them down. I looked at the car yesterday and want to buy and already have the loan approved, but if I can get them to lower the price, that would help with payments for sure. What is a "drive-by-wire" throttle system doing in my new car? okay, i lied (i didn't get a new car....just yet). i got a chance to drive some relative's 2004 Honda Pilot and the initial response of the throttle is very "touchy." from a standing "dead" stop, when you accelerate the Odyssey-derived 3.5-Liter V6 (a true "boxer" engine), the SUV lurches forward with a LOT of torque. the "jerk" forward can create enough force to break out a few necks. so yeah i guess you can say the Odyssey is "punchy" for a minivan. then i got to TEST drive one of the new 2009 Pilot models at a Honda dealer with the more powerful engine (obviously more horsepower and torque than past models). however, when i tried driving this one, the accelerator pedal didn't seem all that touchy as it was in the older 2004 model. once you start gaining speed, the newer engine certainly feels quicker but the initial pedal response from zero mph feels "sluggish." i have to really depress the pedal (put some effort) into the floor like its underpowered when i could do it effortlessly.
Buying a Brand New 2006 Car now (2009)? I hope someone can help me out here. I was looking around for a used car and came across this 2006 Brand New BMW 525i. It is selling at a price that is equivalent to a used model of the same year. The car dealership is a reputable car company in hong kong. The salesman told me that they brought in over 40 of these 2006 models in mid-2008. Set aside the price, my question is, if the car has been sitting there for 2 years without running, will there be any damage to the engine as well as other mechanical and electrical part? By the way, the car comes with a 2 year warranty, same as when you get a new car. Your advice is much appreciated! Thanks.

Insurance for new vehicles? I always wondered about how rates for new vehicles are calculated. Since there can't be any real statistics or an average for accidents, repairs or theft for a brand new model of car or motorcycle which barely has been on the market, then how can an insurance company say that a new car is going to cost so much insurance since there probably has been a very few accidents or thefts involving a newer car compared to older models. So let's say a 2009 model car has high insurance in one area because it has a high rate of theft. Is it fair that the insurance company give the same high insurance to the 2010 model even though there were less or no thefts of the 2010 models? Shouldn't a brand new car be technically cheaper in insurace than older models UNTIL there has been enough claims on the new models of cars to give a better estimate of accidents and thefts and other claims?

what car should i buy? for the last two years ive been driving a 1995 pontiac bonneville SE. Not a bad car but not exactly luxury or anything special. Yesterday, it died on me and I really dont feel like pumping more money into it. I have around 25-28000 dollars for a new car. 1. Should I wait untill 2009 models come in or start looking for a car now? Any sugesstions for car models?
chrysler, ford, gm, honda, toyota, mazda what company has the best 2009 models ? seeing the cars I would say Ford is the best. Their new cars are very nice. Honda is still great, gm is getting better but most of their great cars are too big and the affordable ones are low quality. Toyota needs to work on their designs there's not a lot of variety. mazda is nice but most of their models look the same. there's not a lot of difference between their 30 thousand dollar and 20 thousand dollar cars. chryslers designs are better.
used car or new one? hello everyone. i am new to usa.i have less knowledge when it comes to cars.i am buying a car but have no idea which one. after some research i have come to conclusion that i will go for honda civic or accord or nissan ultima(all coupe models).these are economy cars and i like coupes.i am single and wont be having family for next 5 years atleast. can anyone tell me what are the disadvantages of coupe to sedan? also i dont have experience in driving cars,so i dont know if i should go for used one or a new one.i am stuck with this dilemma.i know its only me that can answer this question but please give me some ideas. also if i wait for 2 months more,will 2009 models come to market?will i then get a discount on 2008 models?

Scion new models and what becomes of the old ...? I'm looking at probably buying a 2008 xD but one thing that is scaring me is that the 2009's will soon be on the lot in a couple months. New 2009 Hyundai Sonata model already? I just saw the new redesigned 2009 Hyundai Sonata and got an invitation to test drive one the end of February. I can't wait to write my review. They are making some big claims but the last time they did that, they fell short again. The look is more refined and the interior materials are said to be "higher quality," but I'll wait and see when I see it. One of the reasons the resale value is so poor on Hyundais is because every 2 or 3 years they change the look and body style of their cars, and we all know nobody wants to drive around in an old model when they can have a new one. Right? I feel bad for those who want to buy a new 2008 model and think they are getting a good deal. What do you think? I have just signed to purchase the Prius 2008 yesterday, but this morning I have got a call from the dealership, they are saying that the Japan Toyota plant has sold out all the 2008 models, and dealership was advised to stop selling 2008, but to sell 2009. Should I get my Prius now or later? I decided awhile ago that my next car will be a Prius. With gas prices continuing to rise, it's getting to be nearly the time to trade in my Jeep Liberty. Which is better, the new Porsche 911 Turbo, the new GT3, or upcoming 2008 GT2? I just saw the spy shots of the 2008 GT2 on Car and Driver. It says that the GT2 will be lighter and more powerful than the current Turbo. The current turbo can already go 0-60 in ~3.4 sec. Can the GT2 really beat that. Also, based on the specs, the GT2 is the fastest, then 911 Turbo, and finally the GT3; why is it then that Porsche chooses to name these models the way they do? Why is it that the "GT2's" get to be the fastest out of these three models? The 2 in GT2 makes it sound like a second place car. Finally, if the upcoming GT2 is faster than the Turbo, wouldn't the Carrerra GT owners be mad, since they paid for a slower and more expensive car than any of the three models mentioned above?
