Do you need a bill of sale when giving a car for free to a spouse? I will be signing over my car to my husband and I was wondering if I had to make a bill of sale since I will be gifting it to him for free. We live in Kentucky but the title is from Massachusetts since we just moved down here.
Can i get a free car if dealership didnt get paid by finance company? i bought a car from dealer, financed. this car salesman is a little shady. i got approved over the phone from the finance co. so i signed bill of sale and he transferred the car to me. 3 days later he calls me frantic saying that the bank didnt pay him for the car because paperwork was incorrect. i am doing what my contract said. i owe the finance co. for my car. i shouldnt of said the paper work wasnt right. it was right. only thing is, this jerk car salesman ripped me off. and finance co. wanted him to get 6 references and some pay stubs ect. i was approved by the finance co. just this dumb car salesman let me drive off the lot without getting everything he needed. this guy is so dumb because he lied to the finance co. and said i put $2000 down on the car when i didnt give him a penny. contracts show a down payment that i didnt make. so when this all clears i either get $2000 or a car. all works for me. i would give him the things he needs but he tried to take advantage of me also there is no clause in the contract that states that if finance doesnt go through that dealership cancels the contract. while you guys are pretty much talking what you think you know. you need to know the law. go to. http://www.lemonlaw.com/spotdelivery.html

Is this the equivalent of putting a 5 yr old car with 100k miles on the lot with a sign " New Car For Sale"? What is the best way to advertise an older car, free or cheaply? I have tried putting orange and black for sale signs in the windows and parking it by the road. I have tried online free traders, word of mouth, and the local free trader newspaper. I don't use the regular newspaper, they want too much for an ad. how about Carmax, or another online selling service? Ebay motors? What would be best? It's a 94 Ford TBird. Thanks! Why, Broncos, is there no value? I am asking 2,500 or best offer. I know the economy is bad, but the car is in good shape, especially inside, has been well maintained, and that's what Kelly Blue Book says it is worth.
buying a car from craigslist located in canada..shipping free through DAS...scam???? help please!? i found this 2004 mini cooper for 2,900$ the price is amazing!!!! the lady told me she's retired and the car belonged to her son who died in iraq last year so she has no use of the car. this was her message: I will explain you how the deal will be closed in good terms: The financial part of this deal will be managed by ebay in this way we will both be protected. They are acting like a third party in this deal. They will keep the payment until you receive the car, and have it tested for 5 days. ebay will send you the payment invoice. You will then have to send the payment like is stated in invoice, they will contact me if the payment is cleared to ship you the car. They will not release the payment to me until you'll receive the car and all the papers (notarized bill of sale signed by me), inspect it, and gave your approval for buying. Also, in case you do not like it or you are not 100% satisfied (though I can assure you that this won't be the case), they will refund you the payment amount. If you want to proceed I will need: Your full name, shipping address and phone number required by the Shipping company (They will call you with delivery/pickup instructions 1 day prior to arrival). is this scam??????? help please
I want to design a used car website, is there a good CMS to do this? I am looking to design a small used car website where people can register, then sign in and post their car for sale. I'd like to be able to have a way for them to post a photo and fill out a form with info about the car. I would also like to have the database searchable by users of the site so they can find what they're looking for. I am very familiar with open source CMS systems such as PHP Fusion. Is there a CMS system (free or otherwise) that would be fairly simple to turn into this type of site? I have extensive HTML knowledge but not much in PHP, so I'm looking to have something that wouldn't take much modifying. If a CMS system isn't the way to go, what is? What programs do I need to use to create a site that can do all of this? It doesn't have to be anything really fancy. Any help would be most appreciated. And please, don't post answers about your website design services. I'm not interested. I'm just looking for info on how to create this site myself. Thanks! I'm looking for something VERY close to one or more of these sites: http://www.leasetrade.com/ http://www.leasefolks.com/ http://www.swapalease.com/ http://www.takemypayments.com/ http://www.leasedwheels.com/
When purchasing a new car should I have the price and the extras they provide all written in one sheet? I was given an Out the Door quote for an '08 Honda Civic and was also told that they will provide free oil change for up to a year and free car rental if my car ever needs to stay in their location overnight within the time of the warranty. My question is - Will all the extras I will be provided with the purchase of the car such as the free car rental and free oil changes be written on the initial contract I sign? I was told in one dealership that the oil changes and free rental are signed in a separate office after I sign the contract with the salesman. If they say that it is separate and that I should sign the Out the Door price first with the salesman and that the extras will be written in a separate sheet of paper in a separate department; should I believe that? Have I just been scammed? Or should I ask to only sign ONE paper which states the final sales price of the car and all the extras they CLAIM they will provide? THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Where can I find a site with government repossessed cars for sale? I need one that is absolutely free I've found a few but they all require a sign up fee.
If you could pay someone to negotiate your car deal for you...? what would you be willing to pay? What would your expectations be? I ask this because I am attempting to run a part time business mainly off of referals from associates. I've already negotiated numerous deals for people for free, because I know them... and my past car sales experience helps me with obtaining great deals. So now I turn to you guys and gals... Here is my thought. I would remove the annoying car salesman and Finance people from the situation. You arrange for financing, or I can through the dealership. You get to sit at home and relax, or sit at work and take care of more important things. For a reasonable fee (I'm still working on it), I would be willing to find the specified car (or one that meets your requirements), negotiate the best possible price (obviously it has to be good, or I'm simply wasting my time if you turn it down), and then bring the paperwork to you (at work, home, at the kids little league game?) for you to sign. Then you take delivery. Cost?!

How do I get the dealer to pay up after selling me a lemon used car? Less than 2 months ago i bought a used Subaru WRX with some modifications done to it (Cat-less Turbo Back exhaust, ECU tune). At the time of sale it had no catalytic converter, so the dealer installed one and charged me for the part, the car was then driven right back to the shop and hooked up for a safety/emissions test. When i was there to pick up the car and sign the papers, they told me car just then threw a check engine light as they pulled the car up to the front of the building. They claimed it was because the ecu was tuned not to have the cat, and it threw the sensors when they installed the cat. I contacted the company that creates the ecu tune maps and they said a cat being installed should not throw a check engine light based on their ecu tune. Today I took my car to a shop to have a leak down test because of the P0301 cylinder misfire CEL code (not an emissions code). There are major issues in 2 of the 4 cylinders, and i'm looking at $3500 at least to repair or around $5500 to replace the engine. I purchased an extended drive train warranty but after reading the fine print and found out it "Does not cover normal or abnormal wear and tear" I went back and had it canceled. On paper it's sold as is, but the dealer verbally offers a 3 month/3000 mile warranty on their used cars for free, which i confirmed tonight after calling and asking a salesman anonymously. My car has 3200 miles since i bought it, but it's obviously developed these problems before i hit the 3k mile mark, i just happened to get it tested and find out about the problems after that. Do i have any legal options to return the car or get money from them to cover the costs of the repairs based on A) They ran the emissions immediately after installing the new catalytic converter without putting any miles on the new setup and sold it to me with a CEL, or B) They "back up every car they sell" and verbally offer a 3k mile warranty. Thanks for any advice!
Back out from Car Purchase? I live in st Louis MO and I was in the search for car sales, when I finally found the one I like i went to see it. since i dont have enough credit history i needed a co-signer. My co-signer was of for some days but the dealer salesman said that didnt matter., they told me if I had the co-signer info they could use it to see what kind of loan I was going to get. so they did it, just with my word, not any consent or approval from my co-signer. I also told them that the co-signer was out of town for a week so He couldnt come sign before that timeframe. all that happend during the weekend. The day that I went to find out what kind of Loan rate i was going to get and also to sign (monday)I went to the dealer without the co-signer and they said it was fine for me to sign without the co-signer. Since is the first time i was purchasing a car i didnt understand very well what the financial manager was explaining to me and I told him that I prefer to be with my co-signer so he could help me understand what He was explaining since english is not my first language. He basically told me that he had to re-do all the paperwork all over again and there was no use. so I felt under pressured and I signed the paperwork.. The next day after I took the car from the dealer, the car start showing mechanical problems. There is a sign on the dealer where it says 48 hours free hussle, if the car is not right we will take it back. So I called within that time frame and said that I wanted to return the car, and neither the Salesman, the Financial Manager or the General Manager help me and said the car cannot be returned, that they have reported the car as sold to the state and that I already signed.. even though my co-signer never show to signed any papers because it was still out of town. Then when I attemted to return the car again the General Manager told me that the only way to return the car was if they couldnt fix the problem, even though in the ad on the dealer doesnt say such thing, it says if the car have any mechanical problem and you are not happy with it, within 48 hours we will take it back. We took the car back and gave back the keys to the General Manager and we havent heard from them. Can someone tell me in this case what can happen? can I get off the Deal? I meant the first option I already gave the car back with a Letter to the dealer, I talked to my attorney and im waiting to see if they call me or send me a letter. They actually didnt give me any copies or any documents for me to see what I signed for. But I thought about the second option, paying the loan and sue the dealer. 1.- for taking my co-signer information and run the credit score. Even if I gave them to them because I have his information doesnt give them the right to do it without his consent. 2.- False advertisement. 3.- Pressured me to sign the papers. Do you think i could sue them for those reazons if they dont want to back off the deal? Thanks so much sage..your first answer was really helpfull. Im just checking different opinions. I talked to my attorney, with a sales person from another dealer and now online..

They said they would throw it in for free and now they want me to pay for it ??? where do i stand ? Hi there, i ordered a Brand new Mercedes about 3 weeks ago. The car had to be ordered from the factory because of the extras and they had found a similar car to what i wanted already built but i had an extra 6 cd changer and Dab radio built in which i had not ordered on my car. Therefore the sales woman rang me and said they had found me a car but it had two extras which were a cd changer and DAB radio, she said they cost 500 but they will give them to me for free. Now the car has been delivered to the dealers and all the finance paper work has been signed and the 20,000 cash has been paid the sales person now says i still owe them 550 pounds before i can collect the car for the cd changer which i was told that it was going to be thrown in for free. They say i either pay it and have the car that is delivered or they have to order me a new one from factory and the prices have risen this week for the same vehicle and i would be subject to new prices if i decided to buy the one i ordered previously. What do i do now ? where do i stand ??? i never signed nothing to state that i had ordered a cd changer i have sorted all my insurance and everything on the car which i was supposed to collect on sunday. Could you please advice on where do i stand in this situation ? I really want the car on the 1st but i why should i pay the 550£ which they told me i dont have to. what could i say to mercedes dealerhip ?? thakns
Does anyone know anything about trendwest? I was contacted by someone because I had entered a drawing for a free car. I did not win the car, but she did tell me that I could receive one of 3 prizes just for attending a seminar. I looked the company up on rip-off report and the majority of the complaints were from people who signed contracts for their time-shares. I am not worried about aggressive sales. I am confident that I can resist anything they throw at me. What I want to know is if their is anyone out there who has gone to one of these seminars, not signed a contract, but still got their free gift.
Can win this case in small claims court? (CALIFORNIA) CAR SALE I sold a used car that I had bought about 2 months ago. I had not registered under my name but had the original title and the bill of sale(under my name). I had not registered the car because it was, at the time, not running. The car was not running because of a mechanical issue. I gather feedback from 3 or more mechanics and all said that it was the timing belt. They quoted me but at the time I didn't have the money to fix it. I decided to just sell the car which I posted on craigslist.org. I stated in my post that the car not running and that they could feel free to bring their own mechanic. Point: I sold the car to a man who accepted the conditions of the car. We signed a contract (with witness) which clearly states that the car is SOLD-AS-IS. Now the guy found more issues with the car, and asked for a refund. After I refused, he filed against me to small claims court. Question: Can I win this case in court? I have all the paperwork and copies of bill of sale. Exact words from Contract: date I SELLER sell a CAR (model, year ) with VIN NO. and plate NO. to BUYER for the AMOUNT the car is sold as is. Then i had my witness sign the contract along with the buyer (i made two copies)
Garage sales.........What erks me, please add on? they post signs with no arrows they post with the address only, not everybody has GPS or a map the print is so small you can't read unless you get out of car signs that have warp around so you wouldn't know if it was a garage sale all of a sudden the no more signs with arrows if kiddy sale, move other move interesting items to end of driveway where it can be seen selling items that wouldn't work even if you have the smarts to repair it stuff that should be thrown out not sold When I have a garage sale, those that undercut even a good / fair price People that have the gull to steal stuff The whole family shows up Can't speak your language or wish not to. Free stuff / good for parts with signage stating so - questions like does it work Snowprin....forgot that one it happened to me pcbeachr....I thought of taking down the signs and taking them to owners but then you you be wasting your time Sensible.......... I got one better, selling a boat trailer on Kijiji some dolt wanted me to take it to Hamilton for him, I told him I'd get right on it and to call me next year oh by the way I'm north of Toronto I'll let general consenses pick best answer cosidering all points qualify ....it would be nice to hear more erks thou.......
What should I do about a car I bought and then blew up? On July 28th, at 2:30pm I paid off a 1991 Subaru Legacy from a private seller. (Not a dealer.) They had no title for it because they were waiting for the auction house to give it to them. So a bill of sell was printed out and signed. But about an hour later when my boyfriend was driving the car home it started smoking. He got out and tried to check the hood but it wouldn’t open. Thinking it might be burning oil he decided he would check it when he got home. But about 5 minutes from my house the engine stalled and he had to pull over. He checked the back of the car because it was smoking and the rear axle was on fire. Within 30 seconds the entire car was engulfed in fire. I was a couple minutes behind him and saw that my recently purchased car was totaled. I called the people who sold me the car and they said they would not give me my money back. So after the police come and fire department put out the fire the towing people tow the car to their lot, since I don't want a burnt car sitting in my yard. So now I am out $1,400 dollars and have a $300 towing bill. What would I do? Is there a lemon law for private sellers? The car didn't have insurance on it. Was going to put it on as soon as the car got into the parking lot. The car's rear axle was 'supposedly' fixed by Firestone and now they are doing a claim/investigation. The bill of sale had the car is being sold as is, so not sure if I'm completely out of luck. Any other questions feel free to ask! I was told the title was at the auction house. Don't even know if that part is true. It shouldn't take a month for them to get the title.
If I send his car to the Junkyard, will that make me a B****? Ok, so my husband and I are getting a divorce. It was mutual, but he is currently deployed and has allowed me rights to moving all his things back home to our hometown at his parents. The problem is my family is coming to help me move and they don't want to be around his parents. They have offered to help and their options sound extremely reasonable, but the problem is this. He has this rusted up, beat up, non-working and no tires on a 76 Malibu. It would be a total gut job and he would be extremely lucky to save the frame from all the rust. Anyway, I don't think he'll ever work on it and wouldn't be worth all the money to put into fixing, but he is obsessed with keeping this car. Also in order to get help from his family we'll have to pay $600 just to have them help us and get the haul to put the car on the moving truck i've already ordered. If they come up separately to avoid my family we'll have to get a separate truck and pay closer to $1,000 and I've come to the conclusion that even though we have the money to do this it's not worth it. I've been busy with separating our things and doing all the packing which is work enough and i'm tired of being all frustrated about this Malibu. I can't store it anywhere cause we don't have the legal title for it b/c the family friend we got it from 2 years ago still hasn't sent it to us and we don't have a signed bill of sale either! Anyway, it's just been so frustrating figuring out what to do with this p.o.s. and i've come to the point where I just want to have it hauled away to the junkyard(which is free!). Would I be a bitch if I just have it taken off and tell his family when I drop his furniture and boxes off??? I mean I've been more than considerate with doing all the packing and taking his stuff to his parents. Why should I keep kicking myself over how to deal with this Malibu???? He still has a working car for when he gets back and I will have my own as well, so I don't see the point in dealing with it anymore. Yeah I've given him the options and the money it could involve and my family not willing to move the car and such. I told him this morning but haven't heard back from him(it's hard being on different times with deployment). The only problem is we've been pissing around with this for about a week or two already b/c right when I think we've got it taken care of something changes or an option falls through without having legal papers for it. Now I've got to be out of the apartment by Thursday and i'm stressing and just ready to junk it!!!
Best anger managment ever, and its free? When you occasionally have a really bad day, and you just need to take it out on someone, don't take it out on someone you know, take it out on someone you don't know. I was sitting at my desk when I remembered a phone call I'd forgotten to make. I found the number and dialed it. A man answered, saying "Hello." I politely said, "This is Chris. Could I please speak with Robyn Carter?" Suddenly a manic voice yelled out in my ear "Get the right f***ing number!" and the phone was slammed down on me. I couldn't believe that anyone could be so rude. When I tracked down Robyn's correct number to call her, I found that I had accidentally transposed the last two digits. After hanging up with her, I decided to call the 'wrong' number again. When the same guy answered the phone, I yelled, "You're an asshole!" and hung up. I wrote his number down with the word 'asshole' next to it, and put it in my desk drawer. Every couple of weeks, when I was paying bills or had a really bad day, I'd call him up and yell, "You're an asshole!" It always cheered me up. When Caller ID was introduced, I thought my therapeutic 'asshole' calling would have to stop. So, I called his number and said, "Hi, this is John Smith from the telephone company. I'm calling to see if you're familiar with our Caller ID Program?" He yelled "NO!" and slammed down the phone. I quickly called him back and said, "That's because you're an asshole!" and hung up. One day I was at the store, getting ready to pull into a parking Spot. Some guy in a black BMW cut me off and pulled into the spot I had patiently waited for. I hit the horn and yelled that I'd been waiting for that spot, but the idiot ignored me. I noticed a "For Sale" sign in his back window, so I wrote down his number. A couple of days later, right after calling the first asshole (I had his number on speed dial,) I thought that I'd better call the BMW asshole, too. I said, "Is this the man with the black BMW for sale?" He said, "Yes, it is." I asked, "Can you tell me where I can see it?" He said, "Yes, I live at 34 Oaktree Blvd., in Ontario. It's a yellow house, and the car's parked right out in front." I asked, "What's your name?" He said, "My name is Don Hansen," I asked, "When's a good time to catch you, Don?" He said, "I'm home every evening after five." I said, "Listen, Don, can I tell you something?" He said, "Yes?" I said, "Don, you're an asshole!" Then I hung up, and added his number to my speed dial, too. Now, when I had a problem, I had two assholes to call. Then I came up with an idea. I called asshole #1. He said, "Hello." I said, "You're an asshole!" (But I didn't hang up.) He asked, "Are you still there?" I said, "Yeah," He screamed, "Stop calling me," I said, "Make me," He asked, "Who are you?" I said, "My name is Don Hansen." He said, "Yeah? Where do you live?" I said, "Asshole, I live at 34 Oaktree Blvd., in Ontario, a yellow house, I have a black Beamer parked in front." He said, "I'm coming over right now, Don. And you had better start saying your prayers." I said, "Yeah, like I'm really scared, asshole," and hung up. Then I called Asshole #2. He said, "Hello?" I said, "Hello, asshole," He yelled, "If I ever find out who you are..." I said, "You'll what?" He exclaimed, "I'll kick your ass," I answered, "Well, asshole, here's your chance. I'm coming over right now." Then I hung up and immediately called the police, saying that I lived at 34 Oaktree Blvd., in Ontario, and that I was on my way over there to kill my gay lover. Then I called Channel 9 News about the gang war going down in Oaktree Blvd. in Ontario. I quickly got into my car and headed over to Ontario. I got there just in time to watch two assholes beating the crap out of each other in front of six cop cars, an overhead news helicopter and surrounded by a news crew. NOW I feel much better. Anger management really does work.
Will GM auto workers get free money for re-electing Obama? MEGYN KELLY (host): We also have a developing story in Detroit where GM has reached a tentative new labor deal with the United Auto Workers, according to reports. The Associated Press reporting that the four-year contract includes higher entry-level pay, a sweeter profit-sharing plan for the union workers, and a $5,000 signing bonus. Some analysts say that is good news, since the union was reportedly hoping to land bonuses of up to 10,000 a worker. Stu Varney is with the Fox Business network and the host of Varney & Company. The signing bonus goes to people who already have jobs, who are already working there? VARNEY: The signing bonus goes to $5,000 each to 48,500 regular workers at General Motors. Everybody who works at GM, everybody on the line gets $5,000. KELLY: Why do you get a signing bonus if you already have the job there? Isn't a signing bonus used to lure someone into the job? VARNEY: Yes, good point. Let me give you some context here. The taxpayer -- that is, the government -- owns 26 percent of General Motors, 500 million shares. The government, therefore, has a very heavy influence on these contract negotiations. And what they've come up with is basically, in my opinion, a sweetheart deal for the unions. As you enumerated there, Megyn, it's a four-year deal, $5,000 to every single worker. No worker will pay a dime extra for health care coverage. That's different from the rest of America. There'll be new hires, there'll be more profit-sharing, and that $56 per hour for regular workers will be maintained. Now, this is as the economy goes on the brink of recession. Car sales are weak. I believe that this is a sweetheart deal for the unions and that, essentially, this is a politicized contract agreement because the president, the administration want to favor the unions and want to be seen to be doing precisely that. KELLY: Well, they did cut them down from $10,000 signing bonuses to $5,000 signing bonuses, Stu. But you know, I don't understand, because normally a signing bonus -- you can argue about whether they should get pay races and all. But a signing bonus, normally it's to lure somebody into the job or to prevent them from quitting. I mean, in this economy was there a realistic possibility that these thousands of union members were going to quit and go someplace else and they needed that five grand to keep them on board? VARNEY: No. Absolutely out of the question. That $5,000 is not to keep them on board. That is a nice sweet deal demanded by the unions. Remember, the unions are beholden to the administration. The administration is beholden to the unions. They want a relationship that really works. And a $5,000 signing bonus, more new hires of union workers, extra profit-sharing, no increase in health care costs to the worker -- that's a very sweet deal. [Fox News, America Live, 9/19/11]

Trying to buy a car from online. Possible SCAM??? Plz HELP~~!!!? I am trying to buy a used car from craigslist. I contacted one and it's what he emailed me. My apologizes for the delay, my 2007 Audi A4 2.0T Sedan is in great condition, has about 42,200 miles on it, Black Paint, Super Clean, 4 Cylinder Turbo Engine, Automatic, 2 wheel drive - front, VIN: WAUAF78EX7A282287, No DINGS, No Accidents, ALWAYS garage kept, service records up-to-date, no loan or lien on it. I want to be honest with you, the car is in perfect condition,. . .My price on it is $9,000 (OBO) the price is low because I'm in a bit of a time crises, I am a Navy SEAL and my unit will be sent back in to action in December. So I need to sell my car as soon as possible before I leave. . . My main problem in selling this car is that, at the present moment, I’m in combat training at the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi and I don't have permission to leave the base. My final price on the car is $9,000. The car is with me in Corpus Christi, TX, from my last selling attempt (shipping is available free of charge). Because of my situations I will like to use AutoCheck Buyback Protection. I don't know if you heard of it, it a service similar to Carfax. After I signed up for the program they offered me a protection plan that offers buyer and seller protection, title guard, testing period prior to purchase and many more. . . I am writing to let you that I've sent the details to AutoCheck and they will contact you soon. As I said, that at this point you have no obligations; all you have to do is to just read the transaction details regarding buyer protection and tell me if you’re interested in doing this deal. . . I got an email from AUTOCHECK about it. . . Guiding Buyers and Sellers Safely Through the Online AutoCheck Buyback Protection Process Step 1: Buyer and Seller Agree to Terms Both parties agree to terms, which includes a description of the merchandise, sale price, number of days for the Buyer's inspection, and shipping information. Either the Buyer or Seller signs in to AutoCheck and creates a transaction. The initiating party defines the terms of the transaction and provides information about the merchandise. The initiating party confirms the information entered, and agrees to the AutoCheck instructions. The other party is notified by e-mail, to sign in and agree to the terms of the transaction provided by the initiating party. After both parties have agreed to the terms, the Buyer will be asked to submit payment to AutoCheck. Step 2: Buyer Pays AutoCheck When the transaction is started the Buyer will receive an invoice with the payment details. The Buyer will have to make a deposit to AutoCheck, representing 75% from the total price of the vehicle, for safety reasons. The payment will be verified and secured, by our expert staff, it into a non-interest bearing trust account. Payment verification process usually takes less than 24 hours. During the transaction we will use state-of-the-art technology to prevent fraud and our expert staff will monitor the transaction 24/7, enabling you to pay safe. AutoCheck has 100% Money Back Guarantee if the transaction is unsuccessful. Step 3: Seller Ships Merchandise to Buyer The Seller ships the merchandise to the Buyer's address, provided by him. The Seller must pay for the shipment of the merchandise. If the Buyer is responsible for paying the shipping costs and a dollar amount is named in the shipping field, then Seller will be reimbursed that amount when the transaction is complete. The inspection period will not begin until AutoCheck has confirmed delivery of the merchandise or the Buyer marks the merchandise as received on the transaction screen. Step 4: Buyer Accepts the Merchandise When the Buyer accepts the merchandise or the inspection period expires (at which point, the Buyer automatically accepts), the disbursement of payment will begin. Please note that AutoCheck may perform additional verification before funds are released. If he refuses it, the Buyer will ship the vehicle back to the Seller, at seller's expense, plus 5% from the total price penalties for false information; Step 5: AutoCheck Pays the Seller Upon the merchandise being accepted, AutoCheck verifies the transaction information and releases funds per the Seller's instruction. The default method of disbursement to Seller is an AutoCheck check mailed to the address in the Seller's profile. The Seller may expedite payment from AutoCheck by selecting an alternate method of disbursement for an additional fee. The Seller is asked to choose the disbursement method after they agree to the transaction terms. the thing is that i heard autocheck does not handle the money. AM I BEING SCAMMED???????? Your help will be greatly appreciated :) Thanks Thanks you all ~~ Just saved my $9000 :) THank you very much
I'm selling my car (title owned) privately to an individual. What is the process? As I said, the car is paid off and I have the title of the car in my possession. I found an honest, willing local buyer who is going to pay cash for the vehicle. So, now what? Do I just write up a simple bill of sale? What do I need to put on it? Is there a good, free copy available on the web? How do I transfer the title? What are the steps, do we sign the bill of sale, make the cash transaction, then transfer the title? Any other kind of fraud I should watch out for when accepting cash? Other then it being counterfeit, that is? I live in South Carolina, by the way. So, you're saying I should take the seller to the dealership while he's with me? How long does transferring the title take? A little more input is appreciated. I can't transfer the title at a title office, the buyer is going to register the car in the state next to mine. So, how do I do the title transfer now?
Do you think I'll get my money for my car, this is long but if you could help...? Okay so I had this "mentor" Jamie. I became pregnant and moved out of my apartment. Now she pretty much pressured me to move in with her and her husband. They are in their early 40s, Iam 22. I HAD a beautiful 95 Trans Am in great shape with only 65000miles that I was attempting to sell for quite awhile because I wanted to pay off a credit card bill I had and still have (...) Well they said they wanted to buy it not only because they wanted it but to take the 250/mth payment of my hands So I agreed and did NOT sign a bill of sale because I TRUSTED them They were to make payments of 250/mth until the debt was paid in full I sold it to them for 5grand In the meantime the agreement was that I live there RENT FREE These ppl claimed to care about my, called me family and pretended they were Now we had a falling out and I moved from there and now they are saying I owe them 2600 dollars in back rent A nice cover for the money they owe me for my car I want to sue them in small claims court but im not sure if ill win because i didnt have them sign anything However I have two letters from them and they admit they bought a car and were making payments but lie and say that since i didnt save any money(which i did) the no rent conract is null and void and now i owe them all the back rent for the 26 weeks i stayed there (which just so happens to equal to the amount they have yet to pay on my car) again nice cover up Do I have a leg to stand on in court? I am furious over this, I think its just downright sad and despicable they wanna take almost 3grand from someone half their age I worked for the car and nearly had it paid off And not to mention they are not only taking from me but my son as well They assured me all along" we know you'll be out of work but you'll have the $250 /mth coming from us" Btw I met my mentor thru a program for young adults aged out of foster care, thats how I know them and the director of that program knows there was no rent being charged and said she would go to court with me DO i have a leg to stand on? I live in Michigan if that matters. I am just wondering if verbal contracts for rent stand up in Michigan I find it funny what he said in the letter "since you didnt save the 250 car payment we gave you, our no rent contract is null and void and you owe us 2600 for back rent" wtf? THE LETTERS AR TYPED AND THEY ONLY SIGNED THE ONE ASKING FOR RENT BUT IT DOES MENTION THEY WERE MAKING CAR PAYMENTS AND THEY SENT IT CERTIFIED MAIL SO THERE'S A RECORD AT THE POST OFFICE IF THAT MATTERS AND THE TITLE IS IN JAMIES NAME they paid the remaining loan of 1400 off
Garage sale unsuccessful? I had a garage sale today and no one came. I put up signs a couple days before the sale on main streets where a lot of cars drive by. How can I advertise better? I don't want to put it in the paper because I'll have to pay for that. I want free advertisement. Are there any places in Bradenton,FL that advertise for free? I got kicked out by the manager by handing out fliers like this so I don't think putting it on stores would help. Where can I find and submit free paper ads?
buying a car, is this a scam? I saw this ad at kijiji selling a 2005 Chrysler 300 series sedan for only $3000 and then I emailed the seller and this was his first reply: My name is ***** and I'm glad to see your interest in purchasing my car. What I can tell you in a few words is that I am an individual seller, I am not a dealer and this is my first type of action on internet. I have a clear title and it is on my name. My 2005 Chrysler 300-Series Sedan it is still available and the price is 3,000.00 $ USA not negotiable. You should know that it has never been wrecked or damaged, the car is in excellent condition with only 51,456 kilometers. Non-smoker.The inside is clean, like new. Runs great, very smooth, meticulously maintained and it always has been garaged. All the manuals, and the original documentation comes along with the car.It has a clear title ready to be signed and notarized on your name. I sell it at this price because I cannot enjoy it due to my job (I work on a cruise ship as a casino dealer). All documents, including owner's manual, clear title and a bill of sale on your name will be provided along with the car. I will take in consideration only those buyers who are really interested in buying the car, to be sure that I don't waste my time with endless discussions. This way, I shall be assured of the serious intentions. So if you are interested please e-mail me back for more details about the transaction. Here you can find more pictures with the car: http://2005chrysler300c.myphotoalbum.com/slideshow.php?set_albumName=album01 and I replied to his message and then he sent me his second email : Thank you for your interest in buying my car but let's clarify some things first of all. I would have preferred to make this face to face but for the time being I am gone with my work in Florida, USA ( as I told you I work as a casino dealer on a cruise ship) and the car it is already on shipping co. possession in Montréal, QC, Canada. It is crated in a truck along with all documents waiting for a destination but no problem because you can see, test drive and inspect the car before before committing to purchase. I have a contract with eBay so this deal must go through them. According with eBay you have 10 days from the time you receive the car to inspect it and decide if you want to keep it or not. Let me explain how this works and hopefully you agree this terms: 1. First of all I will need the following details from you: - Full Name-(Required by eBay) - Full Shipping Address and your phone number - required by the Shipping company They will call you with delivery/pickup instructions 1 day ahead so you communicate what time schedule works best for your to receive the car. 2. After I will receive the details from you, I will forward them to eBay. 3. After they will process your info, they will send us both invoices. The invoice will send you the details on how to make a refundable payment. 4. eBay will contact me and I will ship the car to you. After you receive the car you will have 10 days to test, verify and do whatever you want with the car. If you will buy it, then I will receive the payment details from eBay so that I can pick up the money. 5. If you will decide that you will not buy the car, eBay will refund the money and I will have the shipping company come pick up my car. By the way, the shipping is free of charge for you. If you wish to make the transaction, please send me the necessary info so that we can proceed. Waiting for your email. Now my question is this a scam? Btw I emailed him if we can discuss purchasing his car personally but he still has no reply. Hope you can answer my question, thanks! thanks guys, I know that something is fishy with this seller, but he has facebook LOL
What can i do about a scam? I was looking for a car and ive been talking to this guy about a 2006 Honda Accord EX and he was offering $3,800. I just thought that was to good to be true but then i sent him an email and he sent me a vin number and all this information about the car and sent me a bunch of pics then i started looking up the car on other websites and it showed up and it said the car was located in different states each time and had different emails. This is what he sent me. Hello Thanks for the response my names are Morgan Rick , but I'm in Moscow (Russia) right now and I have been very busy.Anyway, thank you for your interest in buying my 2006 Honda Accord EX. The car is located in USA right now and has US papers. Why is the price so low? I am going trough a hard time with my job, and I had to move out of USA I cannot register the car here, as it is made for USA, according to USA standards. So all that I want to do now is to sell the car at this price, because I need to sell it fast(I already made a deposit here to buy another). The title is clean and you will have absolutely no problems to register the car in the States.I will tell you a few words about the car.. My car has automatic transmission it is in Alabaster Silver Metallic condition with 24,467 miles and have the VIN number: 1HGCM66506A032197 , rust free , no scratch and hasn't been involved in any accident. The motor runs very well. The interior looks great(NO SMOKING).This car needs nothing, the title is clear ,it is not a salvage one. I want this transaction to go smoothly enough as I am caught in the middle of some very important events and have little time at my disposal. I already have tons of emails so I hope you understand that I need to sort them out.. The car is like new, in perfect conditions, accident free, no scratches, no special marks, no need for additional repairs what so ever. a genuine road runner ready to be yours, but only if you shall understand and you won't make me loose time as it has already happened to me. Here are all the photos of my car in the attachment below. The pictures are recent, and they were taken right before preparing the car for sale. The car is exactly as shown in the pictures. The price is $3800 United State Dollars THIS IS MY LAST PRICE.I will not negotiate the price.I will take in consideration only those buyers who are really interested in buying the car ,to be sure that I don't waste my time with endless discussions. This way,I shall be assured of the serious intentions . Before leaving I had prearranged shipping and also the payment with eBay motors. so my presence in U.S isn't necessary(The car is locked in a eBay motor warehouse Indiana ready for delivery). The price of car $3800 includes all the shipping costs and insurance, so you won't have to pay any extra charges. Here is what I suggest: we will use eBay which acts like a service , you make a deposit the sum of $1000 in an eBay managed trust fund ( they hold the money until you receive the car ), and send the car over( the car will be delivered with the title, owner's manual, 2 sets of keys, service records, and of course the bill of sale authorized and signed by me),I will offer a 5 day period from the day you receive it from the shipping company, you can inspect it, take it to a mechanic to check it out, drive it and then if you decided to keep it, you'll confirm to eBay motors the sale and they will send the payment to me. If, by any reason, you will not be satisfied with it ( even though I can assure you that it is exactly as described), you can return it at my expense for a full refund of your money, no questions asked.I think this is more than fair for the both of us. NOTE: The deposit (down payment of $1000) is refundable, and is just a security measure, to make sure that you are serious, and that I am not going to ship the car, and loose time and money. If you are interested to go ahead with the deal, please reply with your full name and full shipping address so I can ask eBay motors to open a case! After, they will contact you explaining all the details regarding the payment.. So if you are interested please email me back for next step. Morgan Rick Can i do anything about this?
About to Buy a 1996 Jeep Sport, What to Look For??? I'm about to buy a 1996 Jeep with 100k miles on it. I'd like to know what I need to look for as far as condition goes. It obviously needs a paint job and a little free-onn, but even with my limited car knowledge I can spot these things. Are there specific car deficiencies that I should look for when buying this car? I've noticed also that the car parts underneath the jeep have rusted easily, but from what I can tell that is fairly common with this year's design. Mechanically what else should I look for before signing the sale papers? I have a Honda and it has quirks specific to it's make, model and year. The Jeep obviously has different ones and I'm just trying to search them out before hand. Thank you!
who has the rights over my car with a fake mechanics lean on it? my dad died the feb.someone told me to sign the back of the titles in my name. so i did. they also put a mechanic lean on the car so his wife wouldn't sale it, they never did any work on the car.so they no right. they have the car locked up so i cant get it. they want me to move it by the 25 of april. and pay they storge free's and for work they didn't did. i never signed to them. i own the car. its in my name, his name as a lean holder. his not a real mechanic. he's got the titles.
Is this a safe car transaction? I was looking at cars on craiglist and I found this one that stood out and I emailed the man selling it. He replied and gave me the carfax and everything for the car but he wants to ship the car to me and that sounds like a scam. He sent me this email. As I've previously told you, I'm currently involved in a military program, temporarily based in NY, as I'll be changing it for Afghanistan very soon. Due to military security reasons I'm restricted from leaving the unit's facility under any purpose and have strictly limited phone access. The shipping won't be a problem; military has a considerable discount, so I can handle it by myself, with no charges whatsoever on your account. The car will be sent along with all its documents including title, bill of sale, 2 sets of keys, full service records and everything else you'll need. Because it's such a large transaction, I'd suggest using an authorized third party, as Google Checkout for instance. I've done some research and that's the safest way to do it. That's why, I've taken the liberty to prearrange things with them, using their escrow Google Checkout. I thought you might want to see it there before paying me, for that you will have a 5 days inspection period (to test drive it) from the moment you receive it, before Google Checkout escrow releases your money to me. If you are still interested just send me your Google Checkout e-mail address, if you don't have one just go to www.googlecheckout.com and sign up for an account (it's free of charge opening an account with them). As soon you will e-mail me your google checkout account I will forward it to Google Checkout and they will further notify you about our deal. This way you'll be sure that you are involved in a secure and trusted deal over the internet. My regards, Philip What do u think of this? Would google checkout prevent me from getting scammed?
Does this sound a little fishy? OK so i found a car on autotrader and i emailed the seller i was interested and he replied "Hi, Thank you for your interest in buying my Camry. Let me tell you a few words about the Toyota. It’s a 1993 Toyota Camry, in perfect condition, with no need for additional repairs, no scratches, dings, special marks whatsoever, never been involved in any accidents. The interior looks great (NO SMOKING). It has 78,000 miles and a clear title ready to be signed and notarized on your name. The price is $1150. I sell the Camry at this price because I have recently moved to Greece. I was hoping to take my car here but when I found out how much shipping and registration would be I've changed my mind. As I'm unable to travel in the near future and I don't have anyone in United States to help me with the sale I've decided to make this transaction through MSN Autos. You will have a hard time finding a cleaner used Toyota than this one right here. Runs and looks great. If you're interested and you have the funds, email me back and I am ready to explain you all the details about how we can close this deal." And i replied sounds good, lets hear the details. Then he replied "Hello, The shipping arrangements have already been made before moving to Greece. The car is at the shipping company in Helena, MT, sealed and ready for the shipping. I have a contract with MSN Autos so this deal must go through them. It will arrive with all the papers and documents (clear title, bills of sale, car's manual) to prove the ownership and to be able to register it with no problem. The clear title and the bill of sale will be both signed so you can become owner of the car on spot. The final price you will have to pay is $1,150. The payment will be done through MSN Autos. They will supervise our transaction. You will send the money to MSN Autos and as soon as the payment is confirmed they will notify me to proceed with the shipping. I will ship the car, you will receive it and will have 5 days for inspection, both the car and the paperwork. During all this time MSN Autos will hold the money. If you are satisfied with the car and decide to keep it you must let MSN Autos know about this and they will release the money to me. If the car is not as described by me and decide not to keep it, MSN Autos will refund you the money, no questions asked, and i will be responsible for shipping the car back. I think this is more than fair for the both of us. Please take into consideration that I will get paid only after you receive the car and make sure everything is as agreed. If you decide to move ahead, send me your full name and full shipping address (where you want the car to be delivered ) to initiate the transaction. You will be contacted by MSN Autos with all info you need regarding shipping and payment instructions. I will appreciate an answer as soon as possible. Also, feel free to ask me any question you may have. Thank you" I have not replied to this email. DO you think this sounds safe?
Looking for helpful selling tips? I've listed a car on 3 or so free classified sites (including Craigslist) and one pay site (autotrader). It may just be a sign of the times/lack of interested in the particular car, but we're getting more spam than actual nibbles. The car is listed for a little under the redbook/nada suggested price. What are some tips that can help to sell a car and make a good ad? And what are some of the best used car sale sites? Since there isn't one universal site, you have to rely on people knowing names, unless they google, in which case who knows what will come up.

Selling Car Private Party with Outstanding Loan? I am trying to sell a used car @ 14,500 with a loan payoff amount of 13,500. I live in CA and the loan is with Nationwide. I have all the DMV paperwork (Bill of Sale, Power of Attorney, Release of Liability, & cetera) ready to go. A rep from Nationwide told me that final payment is held for 10 days after it is made. From my understanding, I am laible for anything that happens to the car within those ten days regardless of the DMV forms signed. My questions are - How do I go about this in the most time effecient and risk-free way? What if the buyer wants to finance? Am I really supposed to ask for the buyer's money and not hand over the keys for a week and a half? Can the buyer revoke any time during the 10 days? HELP!!! FYI - I do not have enough cash to pay off the loan without the buyer's funds Thank you for your answers!
Did I get screwed for this car? A year ago I bought a Nissan 300ZX from a "mechanic" who worked at my dealership, where I sold cars at the time. He decided to sell it to me for 3000 dollars - I did a full check of the car myself, as I'm fairly acquainted with the car, and Nissan's in general. I had known that the car had been in an accident before, and I was told by him that it was minor, and that it drove straight. When I took it for my test drive, sure enough, it ran straight, and there were no issues. All I wanted was a cheap RWD car to play with, and to tinker on - but something I could also use day to day. We signed a contract, but he agreed to write 300 dollars for the price of the car, so as to make my taxes smaller at the DMV's office. He said I could make payments on the car, until I paid it off. So the car was sold to me on written paper for 300 dollars, and I agreed verbally to make a payment of 3000 dollars on it, in payments. Shortly after acquiring the car, I began to drive it daily to and from work. I switched jobs, and began trying to enjoy the more free time I had. I was driving downtown one day when a man in another 300ZX pulled up beside me, and asked me to pull over. I did - and he checked my VIN, and confirmed that the car I was driving was HIS old car. He proceeded to tell me that he had been in an accident with a high curb, which had resulted in serious rear axle/frame damage. He told me, and showed me, the contract he had made up with the mechanic who sold it to me, for $1800. This was understandable, since the mechanic had said he had repaired the damage. Still, this new friend of mine (previous owner) suggested that I take it to a full on mechanic shop, and asked if I had done safety yet. I told him I would take it to a mechanics shop, and that the car was running on temporary plates at the time, because I hadn't gotten around to getting a safety for it. So I took the car to the mechanics shop at the new dealership I was working at (A Nissan dealer). The older gentleman who got underneath my car couldn't believe what he saw: A very poor welding job, and a bent frame. He also showed me a "hole" in the frame where the mechanic who sold me the car had made an incision in order to refit the suspension. I was told by the mechanic, at Nissan, whom I could trust also as my friend, that not only was the car irreparable, and non-road-worthy, but it was a danger - due to this previous mechanics "fix" the car would have a bad tendency to not only wear out it's rear tires faster then usual, but it would also wear out it's rear suspension much faster, and could cause a complete rear subframe failure due to the poor welding on the chassis. By this time, I had already paid the old mechanic 1800 dollars. I looked at my bill of sale, for 300 dollars, and remembered how we had verbally decided on 3000 dollars. I realized he had sold me a car that I would not ever be able to safety, or fix. He had promised me it would be roadworthy. I also found out that the car did not have Traction Control, and that there was a "fault" in it's power steering, which would be a costly repair. I realize I should have had a mechanic check out the car beforehand, however, I did not because I was very very accustomed to these cars. I did not expect such a massive piece of hidden damage. What can I do? Can he take me to court for the missing amount? And since I no longer have the car, but have both a previous owner, and a mechanic, to certify that it was irreparable in both circumstances, would I hold a descent chance of surviving the case if taken to court? Keep in mind I also have a bill of sale for 300 dollars - and the bank statements to prove that I did pay him 1800 dollars, as well as text messages. Thanks.
What is the penalty for selling a car without a title in va? I had a project car that ran well and wanted to get rid of to free up some time and money and will be finished with my tour of duty here and will be leaving the state at the end of the year. I sold the car for 200 bucks much less than what i've already put into it and bought it for. On the bill of sale I put the crap I see everywhere "As Is" and also wrote "No Title" on the bill of sale. He knew there was no title and didn't have a problem with it and it's also another reason i let it go so cheap. Well about a week later he called asking if i could help him get the title because he couldn't do anything to get a new one because the old title wasn't in his name. I said no problem and went down to the dmv to find i needed to get a power of attoney because the car was still in my Mom's name which i bought the car from. that took about 1 1/2 weeks to mail the paperwork done there and for her to get it signed and noterized and mail back. I went to the dmv with the papers they said i needed to then tell me that since the car was never registered in VA that I would have to get the title from the FL DMV. I wish they would have said the the first time. Now the guy i sold it to is leaving me nasty messages. I'm doing my best to keep my cool and still trying to help. I left him a message saying he could do a few options. 1. Bring the car back and I'll give him his money back 2. Give me a money order for the title from FL or 3. Call my mother (LOL) and send her the money order for the title. I wanted to know what I should maybe do and I can't seem to find a penalty for selling a car without a title and would like to know.
The taxes on a short sale of a home? Do sellers not have to pay any? One of my "friends" was in a house that they were about 80K upside down in. They moved out and put it up for rent. They got renters in there and had them sign a lease that was backdated six months. The renters were just happy to get in and went along because my "friend" told them that it needed to say that so they could qualify for a new house. So the renters move in, are there for two months. In the two months they were approved for their new house witch is a bigger house in a brand new development and the cost is only $5k more than they owe on their much smaller, older home. They went through escrow and moved in. A week after they move in, they send a letter to the renters and tell them that they have to move out because they are "short selling the house". The renters were irate and all kinds of drama happened. Renters are out less than a month later...furious and pissed off. They do not get their deposit back because they are charged all kinds of BS fees by these people. Move forward, the house DID short sell for $60K less than owed on it. HUD actually bought the house. Now my question. These people pulled an OBVIOUS scam and make no bones about the fact that they do not feel bad about it and call it "a good business decision" on their end. Do these people get off Scot Free from the taxes? I would think they should be taxed on the difference of the amount owed and the short sale price. I would think that would be what happenes, but one of my other friends says NO, that nowadays due to so many of houses getting foreclosed on and short saled, they dont have to pay the taxes on the difference. I am just appaled that people get away with this. When I bought my car and drove off the lot, it lost 30% of its value right then and there, I cannot stop making the payments and just go get a new one. I just dont get it. So, do these people have to pay the taxes or do they totally get away with scamming the system. It was a rental. They closed on their "new" house 10/31/09 and the short sale date of the "old" house is 10/26/10. I am sure they lied their way out of it though. It just disgusts me that people so proudly get away with this and the rest of us who are living up to our responsibilities even though they did not pan out to be the best choices are still paying our bills, upside down or not.
I want to know if this truck for sale is a scam.? I was searching on craigslist.com and came upon a 2006 dodge ram SRT-10 for only $5400. the owner sent me an e-mail. the guy says that he wants to do the transaction through ebay motors. he said that after I complete the deposit I will have 10 days to test it out before he gets the money. he says he had just moved to quebec, canada. he is offering to handle shipping free and says that an "ebay refund policy" will be enforced on the transaction. he also says that he wants to start the whole procedure himself. I specifically asked for his phone number and in the e-mail he sent me it didn't mention his phone number at all. he wanted to know my full name and the shipping address. this was what the e-mail said: Hello, Thanks for your email! First of all I would like to tell you that the car is located in Quebec, Canada as I recently moved here. I received a good job here and along with the job I received a company car a new Range Rover gas expenses free. I have no use for Dodge RAM anymore and I will not spend a fortune to register it here so I am forced to sell it much below the US market value. The full price is $5,400 US dollars with shipping included to your location. I have a clean title ready to be signed, you will test drive the car for 10 days after you complete the deposit to eBay. The car has no electrical or mechanical problems, never been involved in any kind of accidents. For our protection we can use eBay Motors to complete the transaction. The deal will go strictly according to eBay rules and policy. In order to start the official transaction, I need to know your details: - Full name and Shipping address As soon as I have them, I'll start the official procedure and eBay service will notify you about this. I'll handle the shipping, so this will be free of charge for you. We will use eBay Motors to manage the payment because it is the safest way for both of us and also you will have 10 days to inspect the car before I receive the money. Also, an eBay refund policy will be included. 2006 DODGE RAM SRT-10 VIN: 3D3HA18H36G198004 Miles: 23,400 CREW PICKUP 8.3L V10 SFI REAR WHEEL DRIVE The car is immaculate inside and out! Motorcycles: Harley Davidson Question, 1990 Sportster 1200? Ok, I wrote an introduction to this quesiton that was longer than some books, so I just started over because otherwise I'd never get any answers 'cause the intro was longer than the freaking question itself. I'll try to keep it "to the point", but I have always had trouble with that. I ramble. I'm a rambler and I rant. I'm a ranter, putting in millions of details that have nothing to due with the topic. OK - my dad buys his second motorcycle as he is wanting to get into riding. I have been riding every year weather permitting for 13 year and I know my way around a bike pretty good. I have never owned a harley davidson, only Yamaha's and kawasaki's. The first bike my dad bought was a Kawasaki. He's been taking riding lessons from me for free, and he also signed up for a course at our local community college that is taught by guys who've been riding for centuries, and they'll teach him things that even I don't know. So one day we are driving and there's a sparkling clean sportster (1200 XLH) sitting on the side of the road ("for sale sign clearly visible"). I call the number and offer the guy $3000 as it's a 1990 and has 15,000 miles on it, although the bike is FLAWLESS and loaded with aftermarket shiny things, although all moving parts are stock. He accepts. I tell him that it's actually my dad who is interested and I'll have him call back later. He does, and sets up a test ride (to be performed by me) the next day. We go, I ride (I ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS wear a helmet), but I didn't on this test ride because I had to be able to hear EVERYTHING IN THE ENGINE, ETC. So I ride for about 10 minutes and the bike is in such incredible condition I just can't believe it. I report back and dad agrees to buy it on the spot. The next day he pays the guy and get's the temp tag and insures it. Tonight I went down and picked it up. While we were in the guys large and spotless garage, fully equipped with about 10 motorcycles, 3 cars, and 4 toolbenches, I didn't see the expected accompanyment of tool kits. So I figure he outsources his maintainence. Ok. I turn the fuel switch to "on" from "off", and all of a sudden the bike is literally purging the entire tank of gas out of what appears to be a 1/4 inch rubber hose that someone had threaded between those iconic thin metal bars that run vertically from the crankcase up each side of the cylinders. The hose STARTS at the bottom of the air filter, although I don't thing it has anything to do with it and runs up direcly to the "OFF/ON/RESERVE" switch. So I quickly switch it off, and it stops leaking. The seller is horrified because he's already been paid and we haven't even taken possession yet, 2. The bike didn't do this when I rode it the day before, and 3. his dog bit my dad in the ass when he went over to pay him (and my dad is a lawyer, "bad combination of events"). So we spend 40 minutes trying to figure out first of all what the hell that hose is anyway.... Why is it now leaking fuel copiously, and was it originally connected to something else? did it become disconnected? Next I decide "ok, let's take it just outside of the garage, fire it up with the switch on "off", then turn it "on", which we did, and it still pissed fuel all over the ground. By this time I'd removed it from it's previous position up against the base of the outside of the lower part of the block (too hot for rubber hose, obviously), and I'd zip-tied it so it wouldn't touch the exhaust either. Ok, WTF!!!!???? So, in a last ditch attempt to just GET IT HOME, I decided to clamp it off. Between the 2 of us we decided to use a paper clamp (not clip, CLAMP), those black things with the little silver handles to open and close them that can be used to pinch other people for fun at the office. We also screwed a screw of slightly larger diameter than the inside of the hose into the end of it, and...... drumroll... IT STILL LEAKED, SOMEHOW, but to a lesser degree. He followed me home and the performance of the bike was severely compromised. I had to keep it revved at stop signs and it felt like it was missing on one of the cylinders occasionally. SO: WHAT IS THIS HOSE, WHAT IS IT'S PURPOSE, AND WHAT'S IT SUPPOSED TO DO? IS IT SUPPOSED TO BE HOOKED TO SOMETHING? IF SO, WHAT? PLEASE. I WILL RECANT ALL MY YEARS OF RIDING JAP BIKES IF SOMEONE WILL PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. Otherwise, I'm going to have to pay someone to do it and they might die of laughter from how stupid I am that I couldn't figure it out on my own. This bike is beautiful and I'm really hoping that it doesn't reinforce the rumor that Harley's are hanger queens (which is the only reason I hadn't bought one myself prior to this bike). I know that there is someone out there who can answer this in the blink of an eye. Also the oil/filter and plugs haven't been changed in friggin' trillions of years so I'm going to do that as soon as I can get the right plugs for it. I bought a case of 4 cycle bike oil about 3 years ago and I still haven't used it all, so this oil change should finish it off. That maintainence I can do myself, but if I end up having to take the bike to my mechanic to have this hose thing figured out, I'll just have them change the plugs/oil/filter. Well, that about does it. If I remember anything else I'll post an update. Thank you all in advance for your help. I'm sorry I'm such a dumb-ass but this is my first Harley and I'm still basically a Harley virgin so I haven't found the g-spot on them yet. Thx, john in Iowa
Top twelve things to do at a shopping mall when you are bored. (My own personally created list)? 1. Go down the up escalator and up the down escalator telling people that they're going the wrong way. 2. Put on a Darth Vader mask and grab a toy red lightsaber and going around saying to people, "I am your father." 3. Use up all of the perfume samples. 4. Tell everyone that someone working in the food court has the flu. 5. Tell people that are buying clothes, "That's way to small for you." 6. Tell people that what they are buying is a piece of junk and it doesn't work ect. 7. Switch the items (lets use chocolate chips for an example) that are on sale on to the shelf of the same items which are not on sale and put the ones that are not on sale on the shelf where the ones that are on sale are supposed to be. 8. Go and sob in a corner until someone asks what wrong. Then yell, "Why would you ask that when you know why?" when they say the don't know why and they don't know what you are talking about you say, "You do too know!" keep this up until they leave. 9. Give people a random address and say that there are free car washes there. 10. Take a survey about how people would rate that mall then go put your results on a sign on the door. 11. Continually try to go through the exit door or out the enter door. 12. Put caution tape around as many eilse as possible.
Land Contract / Quick Sale / Short Sale? I entered into a land contract to purchase my parent's home about 5 years ago. The contract will be up in 3-4 months. The agreement was for $80,000 and I was new buyer and naive and blindly listened to my father and never questioned him. A few years into the contract I had the house un-officially appraised by a friends sister who is a Realtor. She came up with a value of $26,000-$30,000. This goes inline with the assessment of taxes the county values the house at. I found out the mortgage was so high because my father refinanced his toys, cars, credit cards, etc into one mortgage payment. Now I have the available cash of $60,000 at my disposal, and I want to purchase the house free and clear, but I do not want to pay the entire balance of the mortgage, since I feel my father abused our relationship when I signed the contract. He is also behind 1-2 yrs in back taxes about $5000. I want to offer him $40,000 and I pay off the taxes, or $45,000 and he pays the taxes. What would we have to do for him to do a short sale to the back. If I move out and purchase a different home then he will simply let it go into foreclosure as he lives in another state an does not want to deal with it. The house is not even valued to sell and much much work needs to be done on the house. I want to keep the house since it was my mother's (family's) house, but don't want my Dad to "Screw" me or to make a profit off me. What are my options? House in Battle Creek, MI Thanks
The lady at the RMV change the amount i got my car for to 1,000 dollars? I went to the RMV in Mass. Me: Hi and I handed the lady my title that the previous owner( father in law) wrote $1.00 for the purchased amount. Clerk: After joking around with her co-workers shouting across the room leaving me standing there to look stupid because she didn't say hi back but then proceeded to grab my car title. She took a quick look and said with to me with an attitude..... no, no, no! Did you get this as a gift or did you buy it? Me: what? (I don't know about these things) So I said I bought it for $1.00. Clerk: Look we don't go by that anymore! So did you buy it or not? Me: like four and a half years ago I gave the previous owner 1,000 dollars, but it was for him to get his car. Not for me. Clerk: (with her attitude) did you or did you not? ( three times in a row) Me: I don't know what you are talking about. I got it for a dollar like it says on that paper. Clerk: ask the same thing again. Me: I got it as a gift obviously. She said well then you'll have to go get a booklet that says it's a gift. Me: I am clueless at this point. Clerk: did you get it as a gift or not? Me: I don't know I got it for free from the owner but then a couple of years ago I gave him a 1,000 to buy it for himself. Now he wanted to give it to me, so here I am trying to register it. Clerk: so then you bought it for 1,000 dollars? Me: No, I don't know! I mean if by law you consider this buying the car even though it was not under my name. Then okay, I guess! I started to explain the story of how this goes and she rudely cut me off! Clerk: proceeded to change the amount on my tittle from $1.00 to $1,000 dollars. (remind you I have no clue whats going on). She rung up everything. When she said the amount I was shocked. Clerck: said 350.00 dollars. Me: What! How is that? Clerck: oh most of it went to the sales tax. It's valued at 5 percent of the blue book. Me: (I got mad but I did not shout) wait a min. How is this possible. Clerck: You said that you got it for 1, 000 dollars Me: if I new this then I would have dealt with it differently. ( I felt like she did not give me time to explain to her how my story went and so she assumed that I purchased the car. But it was her fault for rushing us becasue ti was 10. min to closing time. So I signed my check( did not want to) quickly and I had to get out of there because I was ready to go off on her. I guess I did say one or two thing but it was not to her face. I said fucking shit while signing my check. Then Fucking Bitch while walking away. But I spoke under my breath so she didn't here. I am sure most people would have said the same thing. Only I didn't make a huge scene out of it for the sake of respect. I called CS. Customer Service: (on the phone) she couldn't do that to me and for me to go see the Branch Manager to tell my story. So I guess that I am on here to ask for advice on how I would talk to the Branch Manager. I am shy and so that does not help me any. But if I have help with what I should say to the Manager then maybe I will explain the situation alittle better. Thanks. I just hate that they are suppose to being doing their jobs but instead they are in a rush to go home! The CS lady said that I should have put $1.00 if not as a gift. So we only go by what we are told. I mean come on who really sits there and atomatically know that things has change unless they are well educated on things like this . I never said that I bought the car for 1,000 dollars. She wrote it in herself. I may have said I guess but it does not relate to I did! I can't tell the whole story obviously. There's more to this and it's too long. I' am trying to keeping it short and honest. I did say it was a gift over and over. No, I didn't admit that I bought it. It's not the exact words and I am willing to go back and see it on the video camra! I am asking for advice not a bunch of what I did wrong. Geesh. I guess this word is all about them selves looking good infront of others.
Odometer fraud...I think? We purchased a vehicle on 9/21, used. The vehicle's digital odometer states the vehicle has 43k miles on it. The sales person who happened to be the assistant manager wrote this mileage on all the paperwork we signed. He gave us a copy of the title to get the VIN for our insurance, later after we got home we noticed, the title says the mileage was 102000. We called in the morning and they kind of blew us off, they said they spelled my husbands name wrong on the paperwork and needed us to come back in and re-sign the papers. We didnt. I did a Car Fax, and it confirmed the 102000 miles. I called an attorney, we had to fax all the documents we signed, he said not to call the dealership back or answer the calls, to just avoid them for now and after he reviews the paper work he will call them. I dont know what to do? I know I can get out of the contract, but we need a 2nd vehicle, should I sue? Can you sue? What would I gain from it? Free car? Cash? The last phone call that came in tonight, was from our sales person, now they have called around 14 times today leaving a message every other phone call, the message said they needed us to bring the car back so they could change the mileage on the paperwork...Im nervouse at this point on what will happen. The Assistant Manager who sold us the car looked puzzled when I told him the mileage, he drove the car to us so he saw it too. He is the one who copied the title and he was looking at it after he made the copy, so he saw the mileage im sure, it is right there cant miss it. If it was a glitch, I think he should have said, there is an error in the mileage i cannot sell you this car, but he didnt...anyone been in this situation..what happened?
where do i stand with the dealers ? They guy said he would call me back but hasnt. So if i dont hear from them by tomorrow afternoon should i go to the dealers directly my self??? thanks

ways to raise money for charity? I've recently joined a charity action group at college (16-18 year olds) and we're looking for new, innovative ways to fundraise ! Preferably ideas would come that are inexpensive/ free, as these are the first events of the school year and we have no money to set the wheels in motion! The usual ideas have come up; car wash, sponge throws, bake sales, silent rave, charity buckets, pyjama days, garage sales, etc but these are all fairly ineffective at raising money ! Battle of the bands, and other similar ideas have been suggested but the resources and organisation needed aren't available ! Just hoping someone has experience in this sector and can offer some ideas and advice on effective ways to raise money! I'm thinking of signing myself up for some sports fixtures and trying to raise money this way, but ideally there are activities the entire group can participate in that'd raise more ... ? If anyone has any suggestions please help !
Can you beleive this happened regarding a vehicle and getting ripped off this badly? YOU WON'T BELIEVE IT? So someone sees a car for sale on a car lot, it says $3,500 So this person goes into the sales office, the next thing they know it says $8,500 on the loan paper work. But for whatever reason they still sign it. It's for a Chevy Cavalier 2001 z24. A few months later the engine and transmission both blow up on the freeway. The owner of the car calls the finance company, the finance company says you have to get the car fixed. So the owner spends $1,600 on a used engine to be put in, Stupidly the guy who put in the engine says after he gets the money ' oh it still won't run because it also needs a new transmission' He NEVER mentioned that. The owner then decides if they had knows that was the case they NEVER would have put in the engine, but just bought a brand new car. Then the finance company calls the house every day bugging the owner and their whole family, pretty soon they work a scheme up to trick the owner into bringing their car to a transmission repair shop, saying that the repairs will all be done for free via the finance company, when the bill for the transmission to be put in it comes to around $2,500 and the finance company and the transmission shop are both calling the owner saying that the owner has to pay it or they will impound the car and ruin their credit. Etc.....so the owner pays for that. Then a few weeks later the owner has no money by now to pay any of their bills and so the car is repossessed, finance company sends a letter saying they sold the car for $200 and that they also need the loan balance of $4,000 . Why didn't they just have the owner pay off their loan balance instead of wasting it on fixing the car? And what's worse is every friend, every relative that the owner asked for advice no one was smart enough to help in any way shape or form, or to figure it out?

What should i do for my future? I messed up my first semester at college which i major in business and dont know if they will take away my financial aid and leave me liable to pay for tuition, wondering if the army or army reserve is the way to go, need suggestions of MOS to choose scored 80 on the asvab looking for 1 with a high signing bonus or something where i will have a good time as well as serving my country, not opposed to infantry but think i may have more to offer. Also I have previous sales experience and thought about car sales. Anybody who thinks they have some useful words please feel free to reply.
Gave down payment and signed an auto contract but did not take possession of the vehicle yet. Can I cancel? In New York. I signed a contract for a car with a $18,000 sale price. This price went up $20,000 after all the dealer fees (including the doc fee, prep free and window etching which I now know are bogus) and bank application fees. Since the dealer has to get the title transferred, I only gave half of my down payment and planned to give the rest when I pick up the car. The Icing on the cake was when the dealer told me it would be an additional $583 for plates when I picked up the car. I want to cancel the deal and get my deposit back if they can not adjust for these bogus fees. Is this possible since I have not "taken the vehicle off of the lot" (excluding the test drive before the signing of the papers)?
At what point do I sign the title for an auto? I am engaged in a drawn-out auto sale (I am the buyer) with a difficult (to say the least) dealer. As per some responses on here to other questions, he is a "front yard" dealer. He seems to have no clue what is procedural; rather, he seems to be an independent car salesman that happens to have a small office and a dealer's license. Admittedly, this is my first auto purchase. But I don't expect the dealer to seem as uncertain of what should be standard operating procedure as I am! My financial institution has a check-for-title policy. Because of this man's belligerence (and that's being nice), the credit union has overridden its policy by sending to him a Guarantee (agreement) to sign, stating that if they (override their rules to) produce for him a check first (as he insists upon) he will in turn make the CU the lienholder on the title and send the title to the CU. The dealer called us this evening, again insisting that I return to this town (2-hrs one way, but still here in the state of Ohio) and sign the title. He is saying that there is a place on the back that requires my signature. From what I am gathering, and per the instructions of the CU, I am only to be given a "memo title"... Other sources are further adding that I should not have nor sign the official title until no more monies are owed on the car loan and the car is mine, free-and-clear. Please advise. THANKS, in advance! Essentially, also, I have the bill of sale, which was given to my CU to close out the loan. I faxed to the dealer the CU's Dealer Confirmation Letter and Security Agreement verifying the monies and his dealership as payee. We closed on the loan; yet the dealer has refused to follow the instructions in said confirmation letter and simply send the completed title to the CU (lienholder)--so that he can get his money, which was his departure point from reason. ...Ergo this exception in policy just to try to take care of business (which still is not quite happening). Can any of you please clarify for me at what point I am to sign this title? At the transfer of ownership or once the loan is satisfied? Is the dealer to put my name on it without me actually signing it at this time? (If it is indeed true that I am not to sign the title until the loan with the lienholder is satisfied, I am amazed that by the dealer's insistence upon me returning to sign it he apparently does not know that...)
A Friend sent me this... its quite old.. but hope you like it? I walked into a Blimpie's with a buy-one-get-one-free coupon for a sandwich. I handed it to the girl and she looked over at a little chalk board that said "buy one-get one free". "They're already buy-one-get-one-free", she said, "so, I guess they're both free". She handed me my free sandwiches and I walked out the door. They walk among us and many work retail. ==================== A friend of mine bought a new fridge for his house. To get rid of his old fridge, he put it in his front yard and hung a sign on it saying: "Free to good home. You want it, you take it." For three days the fridge sat there without even one person looking twice at it. My friend decided that people were too untrusting of this deal. It looked too good to be true, so he changed the sign to read: "Fridge for sale $50." The next day someone stole it. They walk among us. ==================== One day I was walking down the beach with some friends when one of them shouted, "Look at that dead bird!" Someone looked up at the sky and said, "Where?" They walk among us! ==================== While looking at a house, my brother asked the real estate agent which direction was north because, he explained, he didn't want the sun waking him up every morning. She asked, "Does the sun rise in the north?" When my brother explained that the sun rises in the east, and has for sometime, she shook her head and said, "Oh, I don't keep up with that stuff." They Walk Among Us!! ==================== I used to work in technical support for a 24/7 call center. One day I got a call from an individual who asked what hours the call center was open. I told him, "The number you dialed is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week." He responded, "Is that Eastern or Pacific time?" Wanting to end the call quickly, I said, "Uh, Pacific." They Walk Among Us! ==================== My colleague and I were eating our lunch in our cafeteria, when we overheard one of the administrative assistants talking about the sunburn she got on her weekend drive to the shore. She drove down in a convertible, but "didn't think she'd get sunburned because the car was moving." They Walk Among Us! ==================== My sister has a lifesaving tool in her car designed to cut through a seat belt if she gets trapped. She keeps it in the trunk. They Walk Among Us! ==================== I was hanging out with a friend when we saw a woman with a nose ring attached to an earring by a chain. My friend said, "Wouldn't the chain rip out every time she turned her head?" I explained that a person's nose and ear remain the same distance apart no matter which way the head is turned. They Walk Among Us! ==================== I couldn't find my luggage at the airport baggage area, so I went to the lost luggage office and told the woman there that my bags never showed up. She smiled and told me not to worry because she was a trained professional and I was in good hands. "Now," she asked me, "has your plane arrived yet?" They Walk Among Us! ==================== While working at a pizza parlor I observed a man ordering a small pizza to go. He appeared to be alone and the cook asked him if he would like it cut into 4 pieces or 6. He thought about it for some time before responding. "Just cut it into 4 pieces; I don't think I'm hungry enough to eat 6 pieces." Yep, They Walk Among Us! ==================== They walk among us, AND they reproduce! lmao.. tube r u serious? haha
not in limited warranty? I recently financed a 2004 Nissan Murano. I made sure to test mostly every feature on the car and took it for an extensive test drive before taking possession of the car. On the way home from the lot, I stopped to plug in my GPS. That is when I noticed that the AC ports in the car were not working. I called the dealership then and there, at which point the salesman said to bring it back and they'd take care of it. I drive right back, however their service dept is closed for the day. I showed up the next day and the head repair guy states that he'll take a look at it. It turns out they have to order parts to fix the problem, and I'd have to come back AGAIN. No problem. A few days later, they tell me the parts are here and to come in. I showed up this morning for my appointment. At this time the head repair guy states that the president of the used cars division nixed the free repair and that I would now be responsible for covering the costs in the amount of $400. He states that the repair I wanted was not covered in the limited warranty, which covers engine, transmission, and drive work. I state the car was NOT sold "As Is" to me and any issues were not disclosed verbally or in writing at the time of sale. At this point I've had the car for two weeks and I've sold my old car, so right now it looks like I'm at the point of no return. My point of view is that the AC adapter ports should have been disclosed as broken or not working at the time I signed the contract. Therefore, since it wasn't they should fix since car was not sold "As Is". Who's right? I understand it's not part of their limited warranty fine print. However, since it's not sold "as is" either, the problem should have been disclosed at time of sale. I read all my paperwork and not once is anything mentioned about the ports being broken. Verbally stated and implied as well, they say the repairs won't cost me and they'll fix it. Of all the things I looked at and tested before I took possession of the car, I didn't think to check the ports because it's such a minor thing, but it's a major feature I need in a car to charge phones and such. I feel it's really wrong that the broken ports were not disclosed at time of sale. I'm also well aware that verbal agreements are not at all binding. Do I have any recourse here? Are they required to fix the items in question or am I basically screwed and forced to live and learn?
Is this seller trying to scam me? Hello, I am glad that you are really interested in my car. Regarding the price, to be honest with you...this was my brother car but he is not…anymore.I don't want to get rich by its selling, just want to give it to someone who will take good care....... As I already said in my first email the car is currently located in UK but still registered in US, so you won't have to pay anything since it have a clear US title, no lien. Also, the car is in perfect working condition and it was never been smoked in. I can have it shipped from here by an US Air Force cargo plane so there won't be any additional shipping costs. Also I can arrange for a truck to transport the car to your home address or, if you like, you can pick it up from the nearest airport in your area. The shipping will take up to 7 days, depending on your location. The car will arrive with all the papers and documents required for registration and the keys. The US clear title and the bill of sale will be already signed by me. The final price you will have to pay is $15,500. The payment must be done through eBay. Ebay Motors will work for us just like an escrow service, just that the transaction will be faster and also 100% secure for both of us. You will send them the payment, then they will let me know that the payment is OK and I can start the shipping. After the car will arrive to you and you will inspect it, you will let them know that, so they can forward the payment and complete the transaction. If the car is not as advertised and decide not to keep it (I'm sure this will not be the case) eBay will refund you the money, no questions asked, and shipping back of the car will be my concern. I think this is fair for both of us. Please take into consideration that I will get paid only after you receive the car and make sure everything is as agreed. If you agree with these terms and you have the money, send me your full name and the address where you want the car to be delivered and I will initiate the transaction with eBay. You will receive all the transaction details from them. I will appreciate an answer as soon as possible. Also, feel free to ask me any question you may have. Thank you, Col. Lawrence S. There will be no extra or hidden taxes for you to pay since the car is still registered in US. In case you decide not to keep the car I'm responsible for shipping back costs. I must say that this is a US model car, with the steering wheel on the left side, as opposed to a UK model, that has the steering wheel on the right side. As I'm unable to travel in the near future and I don't have anyone back home to help me with the sale I decided to sell this car through eBay or craigslist. Is this a craigslist Scam? here is what he said in the e-mail Hello, I don't have a contact number yet, I just bought a new house. I’ve been in my new house for almost 2 weeks now and things are finally settling into place. I unpacked most of the boxes, got most of our utilities setup but it would take one more week with the phone. The shipping arrangements have already been made before moving to Portugal. The car is at the shipping company in Virginia, ready to go anywhere in the United States. It will arrive with all the papers and documents required for registration and the keys. The clear title and the bill of sale will be already signed by me. The final price you will have to pay is $4,400. The payment will be done through eBay. They will act as a third party in this transaction. You will send the money to eBay and as soon as the payment is confirmed they will notify me to proceed with the shipping. I will ship the car, you will receive it and will have 5 days for inspection, both the car and the paperwork. During all this time eBay will hold the money. If you are satisfied with the car and decide to keep it you inform eBay about this and they will release the money to me. If the car is not as advertised and decide not to keep it eBay will refund you the money, no questions asked, and shipping back the car will be my concern. If the car is not as advertised and decide not to keep it eBay will refund you the money, no questions asked, and shipping back of the car will be my concern. John G. Clarke and another: Hi, The car is on my name now and the title is clear, no lien. Please let me know as soon as you can since I have another guy interested...I put him on hold till I have an answer from you . Thanks again, Col. John G. Clarke
Should we give money to poor ppl? ZAKAAT (Alms) Ramadan is the month of giving and benevolence, the Messenger was more benevolent than a falling rain. Muslims are encouraged to emulate the Messenger of Allah (saas), to assess and pay their Zakaat during the month of Ramadan, thus combining the two pillars of Islam at the same time. Zakaat (alms) is the name of what a believer returns out of his or her wealth to the neediest of Muslims for the sake of the Almighty Allah. It is called Zakaat because the word Zakaat is from Zakaa which means, to increase, purify and bless. Who Should Give Zakaat The obligation of Zakaat is mandatory on every Muslim who possesses the minimum Nisaab, whether the person is man, woman, young, old sane or insane. Because the proof of Zakaat in Al-Qur`an and Sunnah is general and does not exclude young or insane. Allah (SWT) stated that: "Of their goods take alms so that thou mightiest purify and sanctify them..." (Al-Qur`an, 9: 103) Imam Ibn Hazim said that every Muslim young or old sane or insane needs to cleanse his or her wealth with Zakaat because of generality of the evidence. Anas bin Malik reported that the Messenger of Allah (saas) said: "Trade with the money of the orphan, lest it is eaten up by Zakaat." (At-Tabraani) In another Hadith `Amru bin Shuaib related from his grandfather that the Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever is entrusted with money of an orphan should trade with it and should not leave it sitting to be used up by charity." (Tirmidhi) The point of reference in these reports is that the Messenger (saas) urged the trustee on the estate of people who due to age or other reasons cannot manage their own financial affairs, to invest it in a business that will yield a return and make it grow until they are in a position to do so themselves. For, if proper investment is not made with an ophan's inheritance, it will be depleted by charity, thus leaving the orphan with little or nothing. The Nisaab The Lawgiver, Allah has prescribed the minimum amount that is obligatory for Zakaat in different ranges of properties, and that minimum amount is known as nisaab. The reason for nisaab is to ensure that no one is forced to give Zakaat out of what he or she does not have, and that no wealth goes without Zakaat. Nisaab is also an insurance against the tyranny of the state to tax the poor and or the neediest as is the case in many countries. Nisaab is a reference point for the average Muslim who is not sure whether he possesses the minimum wealth on which Zakaat is obligatory. The wealthy need not worry about the Nisaab. Zakaat is obligatory on their entire wealth and must be paid out at the end of financial year that they set for their Zakaat. The Nisaab will not be valid unless it fulfills two conditions: 1) The amount that has reached Nisaab must be the excess or surplus known as "faadil" from one's essential needs such as food, clothing, housing, vehicles, tools and machinery that is used in business. The essentials for living are exempted from Zakaat. Although what constitutes nisaab may change from one country to another, the amount that is needed for the basic needs of living in different countries is very similar, because the market place determines the prices, whether it is an official market or a non-official market. In the poorest countries people do without or live below the poverty standard, and that is why many go hungry or without basic essentials. However, we must realize that Zakaat is an act of worship (ebadah) like Salaat. The element of intention (niyyah) is necessary, and we should not overly rely on state agencies to determine for us the requirements of our religious duty. The so called the "consumption basket" (that is poverty level as determined the social security administration which are updated every fiscal year) may not be the same as what Islam considers minimum Nisaab. In the industrialized countries, the consumption basket may include items that are not necessarily essential, such as entertainment, extra clothing, variety of food, eating in restaurant or eating at home, owning more than one car as opposed to having three cars in the driveway, drinking water as opposed to juices, eating regular food or special "health" food. This is why I believe it is essential that we do not lose site of the fact that Zakaat is ebadah of wealth, like salaat and fasting. Non Muslims may consider all the things mentioned above as essentials while Muslims will not. Indeed, no Muslims in good standing will attempt to hide behind the label of consumption basket so as to evade Zakaat. Nisaab eliminates the possibility of injustice or unfair treatment of the Zakaat payer. To suggest that if we do not follow the rules of International Monetary Fund or the arbitrary figures of social security administration or department of agriculture we will be doing injustice to the Zakaat payer is ludicrous. 2) Nisaab must mature, that is the money is not liable for Zakaat unless it has remained a full year in the possession of a person. This is the understanding of the majority of the scholars. Imam Abu Hanifah (raa) said: "What should be considered is the existence of nisaab at the beginning and the end of the Zakaat year set by the payer". It does not matter if the nisaab money increases or decreases during the calendar year, as we will explain later. This condition does not include farm produce, for it is due on the day it is harvested. Allah (SWT) stated: "... But render the dues that are proper on the day that the harvest is gathered..." (Al-Qur`an, 6: 141) According to Imam Al-`Abadi, (raa) Zakaat money is of two kinds: one that by its nature can not be invested and Zakaat of this category is due on the day of harvest. This includes all the farm produce that is liable for Zakaat. The other is wealth that can be invested in the hope of a good return, like cash, gold or silver, because the opportunity is there that cash in one's hand can be invested for a good return. This includes currency investment, merchandise and livestock. Their Zakaat is not due until they have matured in one full year. The proof of this condition is the Hadith related by Ibn `Umar that the Messenger of Allah (saas) said: "He who acquires property is not liable for Zakaat on it till a year passes." According to Ibn Rushd (raa) this is the understanding of the majority of scholars, including the four rightly guided Khalifahs. Zakaat Of Salaries The condition of yearly term maturity applies to the commodities on which the Lawgiver said Zakaat is due, and this includes silver, gold, modern paper currency and livestock. Paper currency is analogous to silver, therefore, it takes the case of silver. There is no Zakaat on salary, earned income from wage earners or professionals or independent contractors until such money matures in a full year. There is no such thing as paying your Zakaat on the day you receive your paycheck. What the wage earner must know is that he or she can purify that money with charity (sadaqah) anytime they cash the paycheck. Allah (SWT) states: "And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the needy, he who asks and he who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking)." (Al-Qur`an, 51: 19). We can deduce from the concept of "yearly maturity" of wealth on which Zakaat is due as encouraging, among other things, saving on the part of the Zakaat payer, and enhances the chances for eradicating poverty, because if the poor receives his rightful share of Zakaat there will be the possibility that he can take Zakaat money and invest it and become a Zakaat payer instead of recipient. This possibility will be lost if he receives few Zakaat dollars every month. To say that the wage earner just brings his check home and spends everything on necessities and lives from check to check with nothing left over means the person is eligible for Zakaat. Using farm produce as analogous to salary for Zakaat is wrong analogy. As Imam Al-`Abadi said, these are two different categories of money. $2, 500.00 cash can be invested by the person and expect a good return whereas it will be difficult to invest a bushel of corn. It can be traded as a commodity, which is what it is. This why we must know that analogy has rules that must be followed before it is applied. Certainly the jurists are unanimous that earned income, known as almal al-mustafadah, should either be added to existing money and wait until that amount reaches maturity and then give their Zakaat; or if there is no money on hand the time one possesses this money, he or she should wait one full year before assessing it for Zakaat. Zakaat is one of the five pillars of Islam and a vital element in the religion of Islam. It is the twin sister of Salaat. In Al-Qur`an, Allah (SWT) stated: "So establish regular Prayer and give regular Alms; and obey the Messenger; that you may receive mercy." (Al-Qur`an, 24: 56) Also, "...Establish regular Prayer and give regular Alms, and loan to Allah a beautiful loan...." (Al-Qur`an, 73: 20) "And they have been commanded no more than this: to worship Allah, offering Him sincere devotion, being true (in faith); to establish regular Prayer and to practice regular charity; and that is the religion right and straight." (Al-Qur`an, 98: 5) In a famous Hadith reported by `Umar Bin Khattab (raa), the Messenger of Allah (saas) responded to Jibreel (as) and said: "... Islam is to testify that there is no deity but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to perform the prayer, to pay Zakaat, to observe fasting in Ramadan, and to make pilgrimage to the house of Allah if you are able to do os...." (Bukhari, Muslim) There is consensus among Muslim scholars that it is mandatory on every believer who is financially able. Whoever knowingly denies this obligation, while he possesses the minimum amount, would be considered a disbeliever and a renegade from Islam. Whoever is stingy, or tries to cheat, is considered among the wrongdoers. Zakaat is mandatory on four categories of items. 1. Farm produce of seeds and fruits, such as wheat, barley, rice, dates, raisins, cocoa, pistachios, coffee, cashews. Allah (SWT) stated: "O you who believe, give of the good things which you have (honorably) earned, and of the fruits of the earth which We have produced for you..." (Al-Qur`an, 2: 267) Also: "... But render the dues that are proper on the day that the harvest is gathered..." (Al-Qur`an, 6: 141) Thus, these two verses and many others indicate that Zakaat is due on farm products that reached the minimum amount (nisaab). No farm product is liable for Zakaat unless it is a product that is considered as food and can be stocked or saved naturally without refrigeration. If the produce is perishable fruit, such as grapes, there is no Zakaat. But if one sells them they will pay their Zakaat on the profit earned when it matures. The nisaab is 612 kilos, which equals 1,346.40 lb. There is no Zakaat on produce that is less than this amount. If the farm produce or crops grow dependant on rainwater, or without any man's labor or irrigation, Zakaat due is one-tenth of the total. If it is grown by irrigation, then the Zakaat due is half of one-tenth of the total produce. There is no Zakaat on fruits like apples or oranges or vegetables which are perishable and need refrigeration for long storage, but they should be considered as any income if the profit earned from their sale reaches the amount of Zakaat, then Zakaat should be given. 2. Cattle, including camels, cows, sheep and goats, that are freely graze and are raised for trade and production. For Zakaat to be obligatory, the number must reach the nisaab. The nisaab of camels is five, of cows 30, of sheep and goats, 40. By freely grazing is meant the animal goes out to feed without the owner buying or bringing it feed or hay. If it is not a grazing animal, there is no Zakaat in the stock by itself. The stock will, however, be considered as articles of trade, then will be assessed for Zakaat as articles of trade when the profit earned from their sale reaches the amount by itself or in combination with other articles of the trade. 3. Merchandise and goods of trade and commerce. This includes anything that is obtained for the business of buying and selling: land, animals, food provisions, fabric, cars, spare parts, etc. This inventory is evaluated annually and assessed for Zakaat, whether the value is the same as the amount spent on it, more, or less. The owners of grocery stores, like any other business, must evaluate every item and give their Zakaat. Simple bookkeeping of inventory, orders, cash on hand, and credits, that is non-delinquent loans, will give one a good picture of the zakaatable assets. But if one is unable to account for everything in the store or shop, he should assess it according to his ability until he is sure that his conscience is clear. There is no Zakaat on what is within one's dwelling or property which includes food, drinks, furniture, houses, animals, cars, clothes and shoes. The only exception is gold and silver. There is no Zakaat on assets from rentals or lease, whether they are apartment units, taxi cabs, etc. That is, there is no Zakaat on the apartment units, buses or cars for rental like yellow cabs company or trucks for rental or equipments. But there is Zakaat on the proceeds or incomes from these rental assets if these assets reach the executable amount, either by themselves or in combination with other assets. Business Activities Many scholars are of the opinion that any business activity that brings any return to the entrepreneur or investor should be assessed for Zakaat. If the activity has a prescribed nisaab, such as gold, silver or paper currency, that nisaab is applied for Zakaat. But if the business has no declared nisaab, its nisaab is the nisaab of commerce, one reason being that most business activities are considered as commerce and because, in actual fact, it is not factitious business name, such as GM, Apple or GE that is taxed for Zakaat, it is the individual investor. We do not tax cooperations such IBM, Apple, GM or Rajihy Bank but the individual investors, share holders and owners of these corporations. Indeed, there are enough rules in Zakaat books to cover all types of business activity, be it cash or risk investment. If the business activity is analogous to commerce, it should be assessed the same rate as commerce. To subject the business to a different Zakaat rate of 10%, which is the rate of farm products instead of its correct rate of 2.5%, the rate of commerce, is unfair and unjustified. Besides, there is no proof, even a weak one, to justify this unfair arbitrary taxation. The difference between 2.5% and 10% is high. The Zakaat system is not like a state revenue collection, but Allah's `ebadah. However, if a business person decides to give more than 2.5% after deducting all the expenses including depreciation, Allah (SWT) will accept it from him. 4. Gold and silver, whether used for commerce or jewelry. Allah (SWT) states: "...And there are those who bury gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah: announce unto them a most grievous penalty. On the day when heat will be produced out of that (wealth) in the fire of hell, and with it will be branded their foreheads, their flanks and their backs. This is the (treasure) which you buried for yourselves: taste you, then, the (treasures) you buried." (Al-Qur`an, 9: 34-35). By hoarding is meant refusal to give it in the path of Allah, which includes Zakaat. In a hadith reported by Abu Hurairah (raa), the Messenger of Allah (saas) said: "For the owner or possessor of gold and silver who does not fulfill its obligation, on the Day of Resurrection it will be cast into sheets of fire and be branded on his forehead, side and back. Whenever it cools it is to be repeated for him in a day whose length is the length of fifty thousand years, until the judgement is rendered among the people." (Muslim). By its obligation is meant assessing it for Zakaat. In another version: "No possessor of a treasure who does not give its Zakaat." Zakaat is mandatory in gold and silver, irrespective of its form: in coins, raw or nugget, or jewelry for wearing, or for rent, because of the generality of evidence of Zakaat without any detail. In a report by Abdullah bin `Amr bin `Aas (raa), he related that a woman came to the Messenger of Allah with her daughter. On the daughter's wrist were two heavy gold bracelets. The Messenger asked her, "Do you pay Zakaat on this?" She replied, "No." The Messenger said: "Would it please you that Allah will encircle you with two bracelets of fire?" The reporter commented that she took them off and threw them down in front of the Messenger, and said: "They are for Allah and his Messenger." (Ahmed, Tirmidhi). The Messenger's wife reported that: "The Messenger entered into my house and saw in my hand a huge ring made of silver, so he asked, `What is this?' I replied, `I made them to beautify myself for you, O Messenger of Allah.' He inquired, `Do you give their Zakaat?' I said, `No,' or `Allah willing.' He said: `It will suffice you in the hellfire.'" (Abu Dawuud). Zakaat is due on gold when it reaches the amount of (nisaab), which is 20 Dinaar. According to a hadith, the Messenger said: "No Zakaat on you is due until it reaches 20 dinaar." (Abu Dawud) The Islamic dinaar (currency) is one mithqal, a unit of weight which weighs four and one quarter of a gram. Thus, the nisaab is 85 grams. This is equal to $30.00 US dollars. Similarly, there is no Zakaat on silver until it reaches five oqiyah, because the Messenger said: "There is no Zakaat on less then five oqiyah." (Muslim/Bukhari) Oqiyah is equal to forty Islamic dirhams. The nisaab is 200 dirhams. One dirham is equivalent to 595 grams. The zakaatable amount in both the gold and silver is a quarter of a tenth only. Paper Currency There is Zakaat on modern paper currency because it is equivalent to silver. During the early days of Islam, silver and gold were the currency of exchange minted into dirham for silver and dinaar for gold. Silver, not gold, had a larger circulation. Thus many scholars are of opinion that silver should be the standard for the paper currencies of today because that is more advantageous to the Zakaat payer, as it raises the minimum nisaab whereas gold lowers it. Although both metals are no longer circulated, they are still considered as a security against ever fluctuating paper money. Silver should be used as a standard to assess Zakaat annually, not paper currency, even if the currency is hard currency like the US dollar, Yen and Deutch Mark or Pound Sterling. Because these currencies are backed by political decisions that may not have anything to do with the economy, the value and strength of this paper money depends largely on all haram usury system of interest rates. Thus, the Zakaat payer should look up in the local newspaper's financial or business section for the price of silver which is currently about $3.82. per ounce. The nisaab, then, is 596 x .04=28.80 ounce multiplied by$3.82= 90.91. therefore. The nisaab is about $100.00, as of December 17, 1991. The nisaab should be based on the market value of the currency. If the money is hard currency, there will be no problem, but if the money is a non-marketable currency, like most currencies in the third world countries, the nisaab should be based on the black market, which realistically reflects the value of the currency on the money market. In any case, the silver rate should be used to assess the Zakaat. If the nisaab is determined, the zakaatable amount is 2.5%, or .025 multiplied by the amount. For instance, if the zakaatable amount is $56,000.00 it will be 56,000. x .025 = $1,400.00. Zakaat is due on gold, silver, and or paper currency, whether it is cash in hand or credit in the hands of borrowers. Zakaat is due on debts or cost of merchandize or rental money. If the borrower is a wealthy person that you know will pay back the debt, the lender (that is Halaal lending free of usury) should include that money in the assessment and give its Zakaat. However, one can delay Zakaat on a loan until he receives payment, then return its Zakaat for the past years that he was unable to assess for Zakaat. If the borrower is poor or is refusing to pay the debt, there will be no Zakaat on the money until the lender receives the money. Then he will assess it for Zakaat of one past due year, but there will be no Zakaat in the years before that. There is no Zakaat on precious stones such as diamonds, or metals such uranium, regardless of their value. Gold and silver, of course are assessed for Zakaat. However, if a person possesses any of these stones or metals, he should give their Zakaat like any other articles of trade. If a person possesses diamonds or any other precious stones as an edge against inflation or for ornaments, there will no Zakaat on these. How To Give Zakaat Zakaat may be assessed and returned in two ways: a) Make a record of all money earned, either daily or monthly, which has reached the nisaab and remains in the treasury. The Zakaat of that money would be due one year later on the same day the money was earned and reached nisaab. This means every month's income must be set aside and assessed for Zakaat and so will be the case for the rest of the months. For instance, the income of January, 1991 will be assessed for Zakaat in January, 1992, and the income of February, 1991 will be assessed for Zakaat in February 1992, etc. This method of assessing Zakaat is very difficult because it entails complete bookkeeping of daily or monthly earnings. b) The best way is to set a day or a month, preferably Ramadan, for your annual Zakaat return calendar, say Ramadan 1st, 1412. One year later on the same day Ramadan, 1413, your Zakaat is due and payable. Whatever is in the savings is due for Zakaat, regardless of whether all the amount in the savings reaches a year or not. For instance: if you have $20,000.00 in the savings account on the 1st of Ramadan, 1412 and one year later by the 1st of Ramadan, 1413 there is $50, 000.00, your Zakaat will be assessed for $50,000.00, that is: $50.000.00 x .025= $1,250.00. If, on the other hand, by the 1st of Ramadan, 1413 the amount in the savings is $15,000.00, your Zakaat will be for the amount in the savings, that is $15,000.00 x .025= $375.00. This method is the best because it is easy to assess, meets one's obligation and relieve one's conscience. The Recipient Of Zakaat Knowing who qualifies as recipient of Zakaat is an important aspect of Zakaat collection in Islam. Fortunately, Allah (SWT) has been merciful to us in that He Himself spelled out the people eligible to receive Zakaat. In Surah Tawbah He stated: "Alms are for the poor and the needy; and those employed to administer (the funds); for those whose hearts have been (recently) reconciled (to truth); for those in bondage and in debt; in the cause of Allah; and for the wayfarer: (thus is it) ordained by Allah, and Allah is full of knowledge and wisdom." (Al-Qur`an, 9: 60) In this verse Allah enumerated the people who deserve this divine welfare, and they are as follows: The poor and the needy. These are individuals, and those under their care, to live on. By the poor and needy is meant the people whose income or salaries, or whatever material goods they have, fall short of the cost of living in a given environment and economy. The poor and the needy should be given what will suffice them and their families for one full year. The needy who want to get married and have no means should be given enough for this purpose, and so, too, the student who needs money for tuition, rent, food, and books. The working poor should be given supplementary Zakaat. But the wealthy, or any person with enough income to live on should not be given Zakaat, even if they asked for it. Instead, they should be warned and admonished for asking for what does not belong to them. In a hadith reported by Abdullah bin `Umar, the Messenger of Allah (saas) stated: "A man keeps on asking others for something till he comes on the day of Resurrection without any piece of flesh on his face." (Bukhari/Muslim). This hadith indicates a humiliating appearance before Allah (SWT) that awaits a person who asks illegally. Some said: this hadith implies Allah will punish a person with the very limb, the face, that he used to impress on others to give him their money unlawfully. In another hadith reported by Abu Hurairah, the Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever asks people for their money so as to get rich, he is asking for flames of fire. It is up to him to ask for more or less (he should beware)." (Muslim) This hadith indicates the severity of the punishment, the more one asks the more punishment, the less one asks the less the punishment. In another hadith, reported by Hakeem bin Hizaam said: I begged the Messenger of Allah and he gave me. I begged again, and he gave me. I begged again and he gave me. He then said: "This money is green and sweet; he who receives it from people with a cheerful heart, Allah will bless him in it; he who receives it, with an avaricious mind would not be blessed in it. He will be like the person who eats without being satisfied; and the upper hand is better than the lower hand" (Muslim) This hadith gave an analogy between money and green, ripened fruit that people love to eat. Thus, it indicates that both are greatly loved but easily finished. For money that is easy come easy go, one must be careful about the punishment that awaits the illegal eater. If a person asks for Zakaat and there are no signs of wealth, and he does not know that he should not ask, or a person who is well and able, who can work, but does not; if these people do not know that it is not permissible for them to ask, it may be given anyway. In a hadith reported by Ahmed, Abu Dawud, and Nasa'e, two men came to the Messenger of Allah (saas) and asked for Zakaat. He looked at them closely and found them strong and able, he said, "If you want I will give you. But you should know that the wealthy or an able person who can work has no share in Zakaat" (Ahmad) Those who administer the Zakaat department, assigning people for collecting, bookkeeping, making lists of people eligible for Zakaat, and a financial calendar. These people will receive Zakaat as compensation for their work, even if they are wealthy. This does not include a person who works as an agent for one or two wealthy people to take Zakaat for himself. They should donate their time for Zakaat disbursement and do it with honesty and truthfulness. If they can not, they should be paid or rewarded for their time. In a hadith related by Abu Musa Al-Ashi`ari (raa), the Messenger of Allah said: "A trustworthy Muslim executor is the one who executes completely what has been entrusted to him of Zakaat money in good faith." (Bukhari) That is, he will give the Zakaat money to any of the eligible recipients of Zakaat. He should carry on the duty voluntarily, but if he can not distribute the money without being paid, the Zakaat payer should pay him for his work. The payment for the service of distributing Zakaat should not come out of Zakaat money. The new converts to Islam whose hearts we want to harmonize into the fold of Islam, either because their faith is weak or we are afraid of their being harmed, should be given Zakaat to strengthen their Iman or until we no longer fear their harm. The bonds person who has contracted with his master to buy himself out of bondage deserve Zakaat and should be given enough to pay off their debt to the master and be freed themselves; similarly, Muslim prisoners of war if their freedom is tied to monetary payment, deserve Zakaat sufficient enough to secure their release. On the other hand, if a pearson accidently killed someone and have no means to pay off the blood money, he should be helped from Zakaat funds. The people in debt are of two kinds: (A) The guarantor, who takes the responsibility of someone else's debt so as to reconcile the two warring parties, to extinguish the fire of fitnah between them. If the person requests Zakaat money to pay off this debt he should be given it, which will encourage him to continue in this noble cause. In a hadith reported by Qubaysah Al-Hilaaly (raa), he said I was under debt (hamaalah) and I came to the Messenger (saas) and begged him to help me pay it off. The Messenger told him: "Wait until we receive charity, so we will command that it be given to you." However, the Messenger stated: "O Qubaysah, begging is not permitted except for one of three categories of people: A man who has incurred debt (as guarantor to reconcile blood wit) for him begging is permissible till he pays that off, after which he must stop it; a man whose property has been destroyed by calamity which has smitten him; for him begging is permissible till he gets what will support life or will provide him reasonable subsistence; and a man who has been smitten by poverty, the genuineness of which should be confirmed by three knowledgeable members of his people; for him begging is permissible till he gets what will support him, or will provide him subsistence. Besides these three, Qubaysah, begging is forbidden for every other persons, and one who engages in such consumes that which is forbidden." (Muslim) (B) Whoever incurs debt and has no money to pay it back will be given from Zakaat to help pay his debt, whether the amount is large or small; or his creditor should be paid directly on his behalf, so long as it is paid off. Zakaat can be given in the path of Allah. By this is meant to finance a Jihad effort in the path of Allah, not for Jihad for other reasons. The fighter (mujahid) will be given as salary what will be enough for him. If he needs to buy arms or some other supplies related to the war effort, Zakaat money should be used provided the effort is to raise the banner of Islam. The wayfarer. This is the traveller who in a strange land runs out of money. He or she deserves Zakaat, enough money to take him back to his country, even if he is wealthy and can find someone to loan him the money. On his part, he should take with him on his trip sufficient money, if he is wealthy, so that he will not need Zakaat. Zakaat money can not be used to pay off other obligations, such as giving Zakaat money to people you are obligated to take care of by law; or Zakaat money can not be used to pay for hotel and food expenses. It is, however, permissible to give Zakaat to a wife or family member, provided it is not part of their daily living expense money, but is needed to pay off a debt for one's wife if she can not pay it. So is the case for one's parents if they can not pay their debt. Zakaat money may be given to members of the family for their expenses if one is not obligated to take care of them financially. The wife can pay off a debt of her husband with Zakaat money, because he may be among the eight eligible recipients and she is not obligated to spend on him as he is on her. The eight eligible recipients of Zakaat can be denied their right to Zakaat without proof from Al-Qur`an or Sunnah. In a hadith reported by Ibn Mas`ud, his wife Zaynab heard the Messenger of Allah order women to give Zakaat, so she asked the Messenger (saas): " O Messenger of Allah, you commanded us to give Zakaat, and I have jewelry that I wanted to assess for Zakaat, but my husband Abdullah bin Mas`ud claimed that his son deserves it more than anyone." The Messenger replied: Your husband Ibn Mas`ud is right. Your son deserves your charity more than anyone." In another hadith reported by Salman bin `Aamir, he said the Messenger of Allah said: " Charity to the poor is only charity, but charity to the rest of kind is charity and maintenance of relations (sillah)." (Nisaee) No loan should be written off as Zakaat because Zakaat is taken and given. Allah (SWT) said: "Of their goods take alms...." (Al-Qur`an, 9: 103) And in a Hadith the Messenger has been reported as saying: "Allah has mandated on you Zakaat to be taken from the wealthy and to be given to the poor." Thus, writing off debt is not taken. For instance, If you loan a person money, you can not write off that loan as a Zakaat. However, it could be written off as sadaqah charity. Furthermore, loan, delinquent or not, is considered an absent money, therefore, it should not be transacted in Zakaat. for Zakaat is assessed only in cash in hand. Besides, debt money is valued less than cash in the hand, and using that money for alms is like exchanging good money for bad. The assessor of alms should try to give his Zakaat to an eligible person, but if he makes a mistake and gives it to an ineligible person it is accepted. In a hadith related by Abu Hurairah, he said the Messenger said: "A man expressed his intention to give charity, so he came with his charity and placed it in the hand of an adulteress. In the morning the people were talking and saying charity was given to an adulteress last night. The donor said: O Allah, to thee be the Praise - charity to an adulteress! He then again expressed his intention to give charity, so he went out with it and placed it in the hand of a rich person. In the morning the people were talking and saying charity was given to a rich person. The donor said, O Allah to You be the praise - charity to a rich man! He then expressed his intention to give charity, so he went out with his charity and placed it in the hand of a thief. In the morning the people were talking and saying charity to the thief. So the man said, O Allah to You be the praise (what a misfortune that charity has been given) to the adulteress, the rich and the thief! Then someone came to him and told him your charity has been accepted. As for the adulteress the charity might become the means whereby she might restrain from fornication. The rich man might perhaps learn a lesson and spend from what Allah has given him, and the thief might thereby restrain from committing theft. The funeral was to be at a cemetery way out in the country. This was a new cemetery and this man was the first to be laid to rest there. I was not familiar with the area and became lost. Being a typical man, of course, I did not ask for directions. I finally found the cemetery about an hour late. The back hoe was there and the crew was eating their lunch. The hearse was nowhere to be seen. I apologized to the workers for being late. As I looked into the open grave, I saw the vault lid already in place. I told the workers I would not keep them long, but that this was the proper thing to do. The workers, still eating their lunch, gathered around the opening. I was young and enthusiastic and poured out my heart and soul as I preached. The workers joined in with, "Praise the Lord," "Amen," and "Glory!" I got so into the service that I preached and preached and preached, from Genesis to The Revelation. When the service was over, I said a prayer and walked to my car. My mothers financial ruin, and how to fix it? My mother had a house that she had a good mortgage on. Had to go bankrupt due to her ex husband. Didn't do it fast enough so they started taking it out of her wages. She was bad with money in the first place - but she always had what she wanted, so having someone take money made her spend the same/get behind. And before the economic/mortgage crisis happened she got to a point where she was close to being foreclosed on by the mortgage company - and she had taken out a second mortgage. The owner of the second mortgage apparently hired some people to say they where helping - but they spent about 4 hours asking her to sign paperwork to sign over her house free and clear so they could "put it back into her name"... and they told her they where also going to hand her 15,000 with the new mortgage so she could catch up. Instead they had her sign the paperwork then brought the 2nd mortgage holder in and had her sign some/signing over the house - and having the lady who owned the 2nd mortgage walk onto my moms front lawn and say "this is my house, and your my renter", after my mom found out that her house was for sale the next day. Anyways, long story short - she lost the house, plus they charged 1500 every month for rent. So they got her for the house+equity free and clear+30-40k in rent and fee's. Etc etc. And now my mother is stuck with no house - they sold it within a week when the mortgage crisis was starting. She took out payday loans that are in excess of 20k and has other loans all over - lost her cars/had them charge her for them when they sold at auction. So my question is - how do you get out from under a $20,000 payday loan? They take it out of her wages - 300-600 every 2 weeks. And she has nothing to show for any of this. A 150k house, more than likely 30-50k in debt. She got a new house with money from her 401k, but shes still having the same problems - wages going away every week, etc. I'm sort of clueless on what to do with her, she gets behind on all her bills just hoping to get ahead - but I can't see her getting ahead, but she seems intent on the fact she can. Even tho she has her car outside broken - a junker - electric going off in a few days - and 3 dollars for bus fare for the rest of the week.
Do you think I'll win in court and what do you think of these ppl? THE LETTERS AR TYPED AND THEY ONLY SIGNED THE ONE ASKING FOR RENT BUT IT DOES MENTION THEY WERE MAKING CAR PAYMENTS AND THEY SENT IT CERTIFIED MAIL SO THERE'S A RECORD AT THE POST OFFICE IF THAT MATTERS AND THE TITLE IS IN JAMIES NAME they paid the remaining loan of 1400 off

what should i do ????? I really want the car on the 1st but i why should i pay the 550£ which they told me i dont have to. what could i say to mercedes dealerhip ?? thanks
Gas Price Whining Forces Rush to Explain Capitalism Yet Again? Gas Price Whining Forces Rush to Explain Capitalism Yet Again RUSH: I went to the MoveOn.org website today. You know what they're all up in arms about today? High gas prices. They're sending out an action e-mail to all of their members asking people to sign a petition to get Congress to do something about high gas prices, and Congress is going to do something about high gas prices. Have you heard this? They are going to sue OPEC! They are going to sue OPEC for high gas prices. Why aren't they suing Big Oil, I wonder? The House voted yesterday to allow the government to sue OPEC over oil production quotas. They ought to sue themselves! They're the ones standing in the way of our energy independence. You know, high gasoline prices, high oil prices today are partially due to the fact that back in the Clinton administration and since the Democrats have prevented any drilling in, say, ANWR or anywhere else for our own supplies of oil. They have all this dramatic talk about alternative fuels and so forth, which is a pipe dream. There's nothing down the road that's anywhere near something that's going to solve whatever problem we have. But I find it interesting they want to sue OPEC and not Big Oil. This is, again, something that will go nowhere. BREAK TRANSCRIPT RUSH: "The jump in U.S. gasoline prices this year has so far drained consumers of an extra $20 billion, or about $146 for each passenger car in the country, the Government Accountability Office told Congress on Tuesday." That's also known as the GAO. "The national price for regular unleaded gasoline hit a record $3.22 a gallon this week, and is up $1.05 since the beginning of February, according to the Energy Department." Now, get this. "The added expense is taking money away from consumers to spend on other goods and services." Yes, it is. "Spending billions more on gasoline constrains consumers' budgets, leaving less money available for other purchases." Why don't you people think about this on tax cuts, for crying out loud? If you want to cut prices on gasoline, cut the taxes, the state, the city, the feds, whatever else. It adds up to 60 cents a gallon. It's all profit. We've been over this I don't know how many times. Mrs. Clinton said something about doing something to increase the supply, lower the price, I forget what it was, and I'm sitting there thinking, if you are Big Oil and you are a global concern, your market is the world, why in the world would you invest heavily in -- I think this is about refineries, we need to be building more refines -- who's standing in the way of building more refineries? Environmentalist wackos. And who are they aligned with? They're aligned with the Democrats and left. But if you're Big Oil, why would you even consider investing gazillions of dollars in a country that is trying to ban your product? Somebody needs to ask that question besides me. BREAK TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Mike in northern Wisconsin somewhere you're next on the EIB Network. Hello, sir. CALLER: Hey, Rush, how's it going? RUSH: Fine, sir. CALLER: I got a tanker up here, a gas tanker, and I'm not going to tell you who I drive for -- RUSH: Wait, wait, hold -- time-out, time-out, I want to hear -- you driving the tanker? CALLER: Yes, I am right now. I'm going to get another load of that precious liquid gold. RUSH: Yes. CALLER: (Laughing.) Anyway, what I wanted to say was, I just delivered in a store here, and they were lined up at two stations, the one I was at and one across the street. The prices -- for granted, let's say they're just high, okay, whatever. RUSH: Right. CALLER: We can't keep gas in the ground, people are buying it as fast as we can put it in the ground. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I'm just telling you it doesn't seem -- if the world is going you know where in a handbasket and everything is going bad, people seem to be buying gas and going on vacations up here and -- RUSH: We know this is true. Your little story here is anecdotal, but we know it's true. There have been surveys. Something came out yesterday that driving went down for a while, on a percentage basis from the previous year. But from what you're describing, people waiting in line for your truck to show up to refill the tanks at the station? CALLER: There was people there waiting, and I pulled in, and I had to block the road just so I could get in and unload this thing, and we ran all weekend. We had trucks out all week running. Now, if the economy is so bad, how come people keep buying all this gas and the motorcycles and their motor homes and -- somebody's making money somewhere putting this gas in their tanks. RUSH: You are really shrewd, I have to tell you, and plus you have the benefit of being an eyewitness to this. This notion the economy is in bad shape and that people are fretting over gasoline prices is simply manufactured news, manufactured news from the Democrat Party, and they're trying to compare it to food prices, which it is a necessary. We all have to eat in this country. I had somebody ask me the other day, "Rush, let me ask you a question, you once said, and you're right, that that you go to the grocery store and the profit markup in a grocery store on basic foodstuffs is 1%, grocery stores make their money selling the stuff at the checkout counter and the magazines and the candy and all this sort of stuff and the mops and the spic-and-span, whatever's in there. But on basic foodstuffs, profit margin is 1%, because people have to eat." He said, "Well, why doesn't Big Oil look at it that way. People have to drive to get to the grocery store to eat." I said, "Well, both prices, both profit markups, both businesses are constrained by the market forces in which they operate. People do need gasoline, and that's why they're driving." They're not going to slow down and they're not going to stop going to work and they're not going to get on the light rail train. We have some of the ugliest light rail trains I have ever seen in my life right down here in West Palm Beach. I don't go over there much, but sometimes I have to get to the airport. You get stopped sometimes, when I come in late from a flight getting home, midnight or one o'clock, that seems to be when these things are moving, and nobody's on them -- wait, no, that's the freight trains. Take it back. These are the transit, the rush hour, little all-day-long light train. They're supposed to be painted to look like Florida blue with the palm trees. They don't look like that. They look ugly. They look like they're unfinished, looks like they bought used train cars and they haven't done anything to them. But the thing I noticed, they're always empty. I scour, I look in the windows, you might see one or two people on a three-car train. They're empty. People don't want to get on these things, and they don't want to get on buses, outside of New York, where this is standard form of transportation, cabs and buses and subways and so forth. But around the rest of the country they want to drive their cars and they're going to and they're going to pay whatever it costs. They might complain but they'll pay it. BREAK TRANSCRIPT RUSH: Darren in Billings, Montana, I'm glad you waited as we get back to the phones. Welcome to the EIB Network. CALLER: Hey, Rush, it's great to talk with you. Mostly dittos from Montana. RUSH: Thank you, sir. Never been there and would love to go. CALLER: I'd say, we'd love to have you up here sometime. RUSH: I'll make it at some point. CALLER: There we go. Hey, the problem with the analogy of the oil company and the grocery store is that the oil companies own the product from the raw stage to the retail stage. And the grocery store is actually the true showcase of the free market, where they're buying products from different places and different manufacturers and wholesalers, whereas the oil companies are controlling it all. RUSH: So? CALLER: Well, this is the reason that gas is the price that it is. They're the ones handling that. There is no free market in the oil business. RUSH: Okay. There's no free market in the oil business? The prices in the oil business are fixed? Democrats in Congress conducted an investigation, I think it was Senate Democrats might have conducted an investigation after Hurricane Katrina to find out if there was price fixing. The Democrats couldn't find any evidence of it. CALLER: No, I wouldn't say that there's price fixing. RUSH: Well, if you -- CALLER: I simply don't think that there is the true free market that we see in all the other industries. I don't see any other industry that controls things from raw material to retail sale. I don't think that the supply-demand -- RUSH: Well, then tell me how it is that the prices in this country are lower than they are anywhere else in the world? CALLER: I don't have an answer for you right off on that. RUSH: Well, you know, I've got limited time -- CALLER: I don't know how all the other countries are working. RUSH: You're a great guy, you're a nice guy. There's no free market in gasoline. Propaganda works on this every time the price starts going up, and I don't get it. I just don't. BREAK TRANSCRIPT RUSH: When you get otherwise intelligent people saying there's no free market in the price of gasoline, after all of the countless years of detailed attention paid to the subject, the painstaking research, the patient presentation of facts by me, I often throw up my hands. Let me try, because I know that the gas price is one of these things that when it comes up, it goes up, people think that there's some suspicious or conspiratorial reason behind it, they just cannot accept the fact that the free market works in gasoline. So let me ask a question. Or let me ask many questions. Let us speak of many answers. How many oil companies are there that sell gasoline in the United States of America? How many are there? Take a wild guess. I don't even know the answer, but it doesn't matter because there's more than one. If you don't think they are competing with each other, then you don't know the world. ExxonMobil, BP, Shell, and whoever the others are, they compete with one another. That's number one. I realize that some of you might think they all get together and set the price and so forth. Second thing is, how many companies are there selling gasoline in this country that are not American? Citgo is one, there's Hugo Chavez. British Petroleum. Do you think that ExxonMobil and BP and the rest are getting together with Hugo to set prices in the United States? Remember, now, these people are the world market. Now, where does this oil come from? Gasoline is oil first and there are a bunch of different places it comes from. All over the world. Comes from Canada. In fact, that's the number one country we get oil from. That's our number one importer. Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Russia. The oil companies do not own this oil as it is. I don't know if you've noticed this, but Hugo Chavez just kicked the oil companies out of Venezuela. He's nationalizing everything. He's taken it, screw you, if you want to stay here and run the wells and so forth we can work out a little production deal, but, ha-ha-ha-ha, this stuff belongs to Venezuela because the oil is ours. Same thing happened in Saudi Arabia and Rockefeller got his change before that happened, but same thing happened there, basically. "We don't need you anymore." So tell me how it is that oil, which starts the whole price timeline, coming from so many different places in the world, ends up as refined gasoline with no free market determining the price in this country. I want to know how this is possible. I want to know how it is that BP, ExxonMobil, Citgo, name other companies, the size that are out there -- hell, I don't know -- Conoco's merged with somebody. I want to know how they're getting together with the Russians and with the Saudis and coordinating this. Then I want you to tell me, the guys playing the futures market in oil on the commodities market, I want you to tell me how they are involved in this so that the price is set by one person from the time it comes out of the ground 'til it gets to your car as gasoline, the idea that that's true is false. All these companies compete with one another at the retail level, they are competing with each other to find oil all over the world. We have to buy oil from all these different countries, and we have to refine it here. All of these aspects have market circumstances that rein in the desire for people to charge more than what they can get for it. Then you've got the stockholders of these publicly traded companies who are demanding profits as big as they can be. They're publicly traded companies and if the managers of these companies don't get as big a profit as they could or if they get too little a profit, there's going to be hell to pay from the shareholders. Now, I want to know how in the world anybody can genuinely think that the oil companies, who are citizens of the world, own every bit of oil that comes out of the ground and then every bit of the processing before it becomes gasoline, then it becomes gasoline and goes into your tank, I want to know how this happens. This is news to me. And why is it that the Democrats in the Congress are suing OPEC in order to do something about the rising gas prices. Why aren't they suing Big Oil? And how is it that OPEC isn't Big Oil and how is it that Hugo Chavez isn't Big Oil and how is it that Russia isn't Big Oil, and how is it that British Petroleum and ExxonMobil and Conoco or whoever else, how come they are? I'm sitting here mystified by all this. This is not to say that I'm insensitive to the price, but the idea here -- oh, and one more question. Have you heard of a country called China? I'm sure many of you have. We refer to them here lovingly and affectionately as the ChiComs. Well, despite their best efforts over there, they are having an expanding economy. There are now multimillionaires in China and more and more people have access to automobiles that use gasoline, and they are putting a lot of pressure on the worldwide supply of gasoline, and in this country, your friends, the Democrats, are standing in the way of this country finding any more oil on our property; be it Alaska; be it off one of the coasts, they won't let it happen, while at the same time they're talking about energy independence. So I want to know how it is, at that Big Oil, which earns 30% of its income from operations in the United States, I want to know how it is that Big Oil and all these companies competing with one another somehow control the product around the world from the moment it comes out of the ground. I want to know how they own Saudi Arabia. I want to know how they own Russia. I want to know how they own Iran. I want to know how they own Venezuela. Niger, Big Oil -- there's oil coming out of the ground everywhere but here. I want to know this. If you can answer these questions, with all the pressure on the supply, the worldwide supply that the rising Chinese economy is put -- and the Indian economy, by the way, they're going bonkers as well, if you can tell me how Big Oil controls every drop from the time it comes out of the ground until tends up as gasoline in your tank, then I can maybe accept your -- but you can't tell me because it's not possible, because it isn't true, because it doesn't happen. If you want a shocking statistic, I've forgotten the actual numbers here. Going to have to go back to my website tonight to the archives, I gotta remember the date and find this. Maybe Koko can search for it real quick when he hears what I'm talking about here. I was playing golf with a guy who had just had a conversation with an energy expert and he was passing the story on, secondhand. I didn't hear it from the horse's mouth, but the numbers of people in the world who don't have electricity would stun you. Who don't have running water, stun you. Don't drive, don't have automobile, would stun you. It's a vast, vast majority. If those people ever got -- by the way, you people like flipping on the light switch at home. You like when the air-conditioner works? Where do you think that comes from? They won't let us do nuke power, so it's coal and it's oil. I haven't even scratched the surface of the oil industry here. I haven't even begun to scratch the surface, the costs in finding it, drilling it, bringing it up, transporting it as crude across the oceans and pipelines and so forth. I literally am amazed that somehow the truth and the facts of the oil business, economics of the oil business, escape people when the economics of most other things are never questioned. Well, I'm not totally mystified. You've got the Democrat Party and the Drive-By Media routinely telling people they're being gouged, and you've got Democrats talk windfall profits taxes and so forth and so on. I'm blue in the face trying to describe to you how much every gallon you buy goes to your state, local, and federal government as total profit. Nobody ever complains and they're talking about raising those taxes, by the way, in the midst of all this, yeah, because, you know what, as the price goes up, some people are buying fewer gallons of gas, and that's less tax money. So the roads may not be repaired, bridges may not be prepared and so forth. So all these people out there wanting you driving these little windmill hybrids. I'll tell you what, if everybody did that, and the consumption of gasoline went down big time, you think the taxes wouldn't go up to make up the loss to the government? It would. This market is so complex, it's like the climate, although it's not nearly as complex as the climate, it is profoundly complex, and to try to control it and corner it is impossible. BREAK TRANSCRIPT RUSH: I have a little chart from the year 2001 from the Wall Street Journal. The source of this chart is Energy Intelligence Group. It's a chart of oil companies by size of crude production. The largest oil company in the world: Saudi ARAMCO is the number one oil company in the world in 2001, producing 8.3 million barrels of oil a day. Next is the National Iranian Oil Company, NIOC, at 3.77 million barrels of crude a day. The third largest oil company is PEMEX, that's Mexico, 3.56 million barrels, and they just announced a huge find in the in the Gulf of Mexico off of their shores. The fourth largest oil company by crude production -- and this is going to be a small number now given what's recently happened there -- is Venezuela. The company is PDVSA, three million barrels of crude a day, but they've just nationalized a bunch of oil down there, they claim, so they're going to be higher than that. Number five is ExxonMobil at 2.54 million barrels of crude a day. So you got Saudi Arabia at 8.3 million barrels a day. There's ExxonMobil at 2.54. ExxonMobil's market share of the world oil market is 3%. Don't anybody call here again and tell me about Big Oil engaging in price fixing and controlling every bit of the oil from the ground to your tank as gasoline.

Last Joke for the day,,,hahaha or boo!!!???star for hahaha pls? Cracking an international market is a goal of most growing corporations. It shouldn't be that hard, yet even the big multi-nationals run into trouble because of language and cultural differences. For example... The name Coca-Cola in China was first rendered as Ke-kou-ke-la. Unfortunately, the Coke company did not discover until after thousands of signs had been printed that the phrase means "bite the wax tadpole" or "female horse stuffed with wax" depending on the dialect. Coke then researched 40,000 Chinese characters and found a close phonetic equivalent, "ko-kou-ko-le," which can be loosely translated as "happiness in the mouth." In Taiwan, the translation of the Pepsi slogan "Come alive with the Pepsi Generation" came out as "Pepsi will bring your ancestors back from the dead." Also in Chinese, the Kentucky Fried Chicken slogan "finger-lickin' good" came out as "eat your fingers off." The American slogan for Salem cigarettes, "Salem - Feeling Free," got translated in the Japanese market into "When smoking Salem, you feel so refreshed that your mind seems to be free and empty." When General Motors introduced the Chevy Nova in South America, it was apparently unaware that "no va" means "it won't go." After the company figured out why it wasn't selling any cars, it renamed the car in its Spanish markets to the Caribe. Ford had a similar problem in Brazil when the Pinto flopped. The company found out that Pinto was Brazilian slang for "tiny male genitals". Ford pried all the nameplates off and substituted Corcel, which means horse. When Parker Pen marketed a ballpoint pen in Mexico, its ads were supposed to say "It won't leak in your pocket and embarrass you." However, the company mistakenly thought the spanish word "embarazar" meant embarrass. Instead the ads said that "It wont leak in your pocket and make you pregnant." An American t-shirt maker in Miami printed shirts for the spanish market which promoted the Pope's visit. Instead of the desired "I Saw the Pope" in Spanish, the shirts proclaimed "I Saw the Potato." Chicken-man Frank Perdue's slogan, "It takes a tough man to make a tender chicken," got terribly mangled in another Spanish translation. A photo of Perdue with one of his birds appeared on billboards all over Mexico with a caption that explained "It takes a hard man to make a chicken aroused." Hunt-Wesson introduced its Big John products in French Canada as Gros Jos before finding out that the phrase, in slang, means "big breasts." In this case, however, the name problem did not have a noticeable effect on sales. Colgate introduced a toothpaste in France called Cue, the name of a notorious porno mag. In Italy, a campaign for Schweppes Tonic Water translated the name into Schweppes Toilet Water. Japan's second-largest tourist agency was mystified when it entered English-speaking markets and began receiving requests for unusual sex tours. Upon finding out why, the owners of Kinki Nippon Tourist Company changed its name. and finally... In an effort to boost orange juice sales in predominantly continental breakfast eating England, a campaign was devised to extoll the drink's eye-opening, pick-me-up qualities. Hence, the slogan, "Orange juice. It gets your pecker up." By the way, these are all true!

Work your way up the sales plan and become a MILLIONNAIRE !!!? it's neither a get-rich-quick scheme nor a scam, but the opportunity that I am offering u can make you tons. There's 3 ways you can make money with this system. 1-retailing (with no need to be a salesperson) 2-sponsoring 3-royalties. As long as you're ready to put the effort in, it works... Just has to remember that you get out what you put in. I signed up 3 months ago, in my 1st month I made £236 (I can give you proof of this), my sponsor, who joined 7yrs ago, now makes £4000, his sister who joined just 2 yrs before him now makes £9000, the top earner in our team, who joined 14yrs ago makes £60 000 a month!!(I can give you proof of all of this!!) it's an opportunity where you're the only one deciding on how much you want to earn..The company, who's been around for 84yrs also offers great incentives such as all expenses paid luxury trips to exotic locations, cars, cash...If interested in joining, I'm looking for 2 good ppl to join me, don't hesitate to get ur free info pack today!! This is not a pyramid scheme, this is a bonafied business, kleeneze(a member of the DSA, feel free to check via both the kleeneze website www.kleeneze.co.uk and the DSA website), you can make a good living by retailing alone, don't necessarily need a team, although the benefits of a team enable you to still earn whilst you're otherwise occupied i.e : on holiday. If this company were fake, it wouldn't have lasted for almost 85yrs now and have distributors not only countrywide but also in the Netherlands and Germany and should be branching to other parts of the continent too. kleeneze is not in france yet, and I'm french, been living in england for one year and a half therefore I don't know that many ppl here. But yes I have already spoken to some English friends, and my sponsor is coming with me nxt week to help me and my gf talk to her bro in law about it, cos he is interested. We also go to meetings every other week and conferences three times a yr. You get a lot of your downline through warm list but still some of them come from ads... and therefore are stranger... I didn't know my sponsor before I joined, just responded to the add in the kleeneze main book... looked for info on the net to be sure it wasn't a scam... and as my gf knew the ppl who deliver the kleeneze stuff..... Oh and also, kleeneze is soon going to sponsor "how clean is your house" doubt they'd be doing that if they were a pyramid scheme, or whatever scam... true, I didnt work really hard, i was more consentrating on the system i wanted to use.... which let me know for sure that i can earn a hell of a lot more from only retailing if i want to... and yes i bought the 200 kit, in fact i bought 400 books to start with, never mind 200 lol

If i didnt he was going to sell it and i would have to pay the difference that he out. So if he sell its for 10500 i have to give him 4000 bucks. Does that sound right??????
this is true the names have been changed to protect the guilty. has anything like this ever happened to you? Some guy bought a new fridge for his house. To get rid of his old fridge, he put it in his front yard and hung a sign on it saying: 'Free to good home. You want it, you take it.' For three days the fridge sat there without even one person looking twice at it. He eventually decided that people were too un-trusting of this deal. It looked to good to be true, so he changed the sign to read: 'Fridge for sale $50.' The next day someone stole it. One day I was walking down the beach with some friends when someone shouted....'Look at that dead bird!' Someone looked up at the sky and said...'where???' My colleague and I were eating our lunch in our cafeteria, when we overheard one of the administrative assistants talking about the sunburn she got on her weekend drive to the shore. She drove down in a convertible, but 'didn't think she'd get sunburned because the car was moving'. My sister has a lifesaving tool in her car it's designed to cut through a seat belt if she gets trapped. She keeps it in the trunk... I was hanging out with a friend when we saw a woman with a nose ring attached to an earring by a chain. My friend said, 'Wouldn't the chain rip out every time she turned her head?'
