We are chasing our deposit back from a private car sale after a REVS check revealed that the vehicle had been written off in different state and is now been resold as an undamaged registered car. Used Car Sale, Is This Considered Blackmail? I bought a used car from a dealership a couple weeks ago. I went to the tag office today, and I was told that the car never passed emissions. In my state it is illegal to sell a car that has failed an emissions test, without fixing the problem and retesting it. After bringing the car home I noticed that the rear tires were bald. (not protexia although protexia can force one to sell their car for money and then attempt to further profit from the destruction of another's lively-hood. - a kick them while they are down scenario). I am in Israel so maybe this con is not a worldwide phenomena.
