I thought I'd list it on Craiglist, but I can't find a section for Auto (only Auto parts). Is there a better place to list classic cars for sale?
What is the best website to advertise a classic car for sale on? My husband wants me to place a for sale ad online for his 1965 Chrysler 300 non-letter series sport coupe convertible. I have been doing some searches and I have been thinking about Auto Trader Classics or Hemmings. I was just wondering if anyone out there knows which I should go with, if either. Thanks.

Looking for a classic car! Where would I find a classic car for sale? (Please read the full question, Thank you.) Hi, Ia few weeks ago I went to a classic car and tractor event and I really liked the cars there. It was the first time I have ever seen many of these type of cars before. I liked them so much that I want to buy one. Im half way through getting my driving licence and I thought I would look for a small cheap classic car for when I get it. I thought that I might have more luck finding one in the summer, than I would in the winter. I am looking for a car built up to around the 1930's. I was thinking on something like an Austin Saloon, an Austin Seven, a Hilman Minx or anything like that. If anyone has any ideas of where I might be able to find one for sale, or if anyone has one that they might sell please let me know. You can leave an answer for this question or if you prefer you can email me at lawrence_breslin@yahoo.com. Many Thanks Please only answer about the UK and Ireland. Thank you.
What it's a good cheap, classic car? Preferably convertable and I need to have a V8 engine? examples: Plymouth Road Runner, Oldsmobile Cutlass, etc. My budget goes as high as $6000. I have automotive body and engine experience so if you think if I can find a banged up one that needs work that'll do. I'm kinda looking for a good ole' muscle car and tying to steer clear from Mustangs. I'm mostly looking car brands and makes only, not links to cars on sale. THANKS

What or where is the best locations to sell a classic car? Hello everyone, I would like some advice on where to sell a classic car. Which cities would pay the most for a classic vehicle? Im a kid in school, and I need to help someone I really care about sell their car to take care of some financial issues, and instead of trying to advertise it in as many cities as possible, pin point where it would be the most effective to try and sell a vintage car. Which cities and sites in the U.S or anywhere for that matter would be the best place to advertise a car for sale. P.S i know about craigslist - but don't know which cities would be the best place to reach on there. I am going to do as many as i can but i would like to cut down on wasted time. ebay is more of a last resort because of the huge fees, and not getting what the car is worth. auto trader, cars.com. classic cars.com, and oodles.com - any sites that get a lot of reputable views that will merit advertising on there especially if it cost to list. I could use some advice on where online and offline in the real world and the type of individual to try and sell it to. I want to do everything i can to make sure this person does not get ripped off and i want to help as much as i can. every serious answer is greatly needed, and if you don't know ask someone else who may. For everyone that reads this and gives the best advice they can, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Question on title transfer of a classic car in WA state? So DOL website say you have to pay taxes on fair market value. I am looking at a car that is for sale for $1500, but low blue book is $10,000. I know they won't let me pay taxes on the $1500. There has to be an easy way around this. What is it?
1969 camaro/1973 nova project car for sale? My husband and I have been talking about a future with children and I know he has always talked about wanting a project car for our children to have when they are older. When the time does come to have children- I want to tell him in a very awesome way. He has mentioned to me that he wants to restore a 1973 Chevy Nova several times, but I know he has always had an interest in the 69 camaro- just finding one with a motor and transmission would be so hard. If anyone has or knows where I can come across one of these vehicles please let me know! I have searched google, classic cars, cars online, etc...im just finding them really really rusted or already restored.
How much should I offer for a classic car? I saw a add in autotrader in December for a 1967 Chevy Impala 4 door, 283 V8, auto, ps, pb, pewter w/black interior, excellent condition. 85,960 miles and he was asking $9700 obo. He closed the add in February and went on another site now asking $8200 and also saying "Will considering offers". This car is in almost perfect condition (only having a few rust spots around the funder but nothing huge). Some scratches on the paint as well but nothing big. I have seen this car for sale in other adds that were in better condition (showroom) with less mileage asking $6000. I wont give him what he is asking for it because odviously its to high of a price. But what should I offer him and how should I do it? I have never dealed with a regular person to buy a car before so any advise will help. Thanks. How much should I offer him? http://www.antiquecar.com/index/listings/page11752.htm I am comparing this car to the one I am buying. The car I posted has no rust, with a vinyl roof. The car I was has double the mileage with a hardtop but has very minor rust. advise
Is 50+ Mileage good for a car? I'm looking at a classic car for sale in a lot and it's 50 miles to the gallon. I'm not very good with cars but I defintely love classic cars. Is that good for a car or not? Btw the Car Im looking at is a 1980 Fiat spider Convertible.
classic car rental or sales? I'm looking to rent, or possibly purchase, a 50s era Packard. I'd prefer a convertable. The car would be a promotional vehicle for the non-profit www.thepackardinstitute.com
Is this muscle car site real? Somebody please help me? http://www.collectorcarsforsale.com/ That is the site with the muscle cars for sale. I REALLY need to know if it is legit or not. I need some help because I love muscle cars to death. And this seems like a perfect buy. But it also seems WAY too good to be true. http://www.collectorcarsforsale.com/classic-cars-for-sale/l2430.html That is one of the 68 mustangs for sale. I know this car is REALLY expensive, but the parts on it seems brand new, not the actual original. I know putting the new parts on a muscle will lower the value but this seems way too unreal. I really really need help with this. Could the car also be just one big remake? Because I know you can remake an entire body. I really need answers if this is legit or not. And why is it so cheap.
How to register a Classic Car without a Title...???!!!!? Ok here is the story...in Nov of 2006 I purchased a 1967 Chevy Impala from a Private owner in ALABAMA...The seller advised that he didn't have the title but that I didn't need it to get it registered- So the next day I checked with AL DMV and I was advised that this was true because of the vehicles age... Anyway, @ the time I lived in NJ and because of braking issues with the vehicle I was unable to take it with me...so I left it @ my mom's in AL and never had it registered...it just basically sat in the yard... fast forward to Nov of 2008- I decided that I could not restore the car as I had intended 2 yrs earlier and put the car up for sale on Ebay- Had a great buyer and now He states that he can't get the car registered because Texas will NOT acknowledge the bill of sale and is DEMANDING a title...which I do NOT have... For some reason I was under the strange impression that each state understood ans accepted that vehicles of that age may not have a title and would register the car with just a bill of sale... If anyone is @ all knowledgeable about this kind of circumstance...Your input would be invaluable to me @ this time...thanx in advance :)
Buying a classic car by private treaty after it failed to sell at auction? Hi, let's assume there is a classic car with an estimate of 4000-6000. It didn't sell at the auction and the auctioneer has now put it up for sale by private treaty. The asking price is now 5000, although it didn't sell at auction. Is this usual practice? I thought they would set a lower price now, to sell the car off. On the other hand, one could always make an offer for, say, 4000. Or even less? Thank you for your input.
Classic Car "FINDERS FEE"-How do you become a finder? They have ads in Hemmings Motor News offering commissions for finders of pre and post war vintage cars (Rolls Royce, Bentley). How does one go about becoming a FINDER for classic cars? What procedures does the buyer (who i would be the agent for) use to verify the vehicle i find if it is accross the country for sale (or even outside the USA)? Anybody with experience? Is a used car dealers license required to work as a classic car finder? Thanks
Who has the right to buy the car in this contracts law question? On Monday Wajid put a 1976 Triumph Stag car on the forecourt of his classic car garage for sale. On the windscreen of the car he placed ‘’special offer - until Friday this classic will be available at £7,500’’. Early Tuesday morning, the last zero on the price of the car fell off the windscreen. Lee saw the car later that day and decided that he would like to take advantage of such an offer, which he knew too good to be true, and on Thursday clutching £750 cash said to Wajid that they have a deal. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, Doug was driving past Wajid’s garage and saw the car for sale correctly priced. Doug was in a hurry to get to work, but later on that day sent a letter first class post to Wajid saying that he would see Wajid next week and would be pleased to pay him £7,000. Wajid received the letter on Saturday after a postal delay. On Thursday Wajids brother Sheraz was very surprised to see the car for sale at all as the week before Wajid had promised him the car if he spends 2 gruelling days washing and valeting all 15 cars on the forecourt. Lee, Doug and Sheraz all insist they have a contract for the purchase of the Triumph Stag. Who actually does and why? Why do the others not have a contract?
Where can I find a 1957 chevy wagon? Any ideas on websites that feature classic cars for sale? Provide me a working website for classic cars, I may provide you with a best answer. Thanks!
Where is a good place on line to place my car for sale? I have a great classic "76 Chevy Monte Carlo 350 Eng. A/C converted to the R134. Which saves me a lot of money compared to the old R12. Last Christmas 2009 had my Transmission rebuilt for Christmas. It's a beauty. Owned my car 22 years now. But, I never drive much and would like to sell my car to serious buyers of this classic, good condition car. Wondering a good place on line to place my For Sale ad. Always passes smog, everything is so good, and good condition. So anyone interested out there or can you tell me a good place that is an honest to place my ad. I am asking $4000 or BO. Serious buyers only. If interested let me know or if you can tell me a good place to post my ad, Thank you. I live in Central CA. (San Joaquin County) Ok, that's it.
AMC Kelvinator-Hornet / Nash Metropolitan concept car? I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to AMC history (and classic car history in general), so I got really curious when I saw this Nash-Metro concept car for sale, as I don't think I'd heard of it before: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/cto/1068330701.html Just wondering if anybody could direct me to archival photos, press releases or magazine articles pertaining to this odd prototype?
Can you give me legal advice regarding the sale of a car? I recently auctioned a classic car on eBay. I had several people contact me to make offers and to ask me to stop the auction and sell to them directly, including the guy who ended up winning the auction. The whole concept of bidding on/buying a car sight unseen based on a description and photos boggles my mind, but that's how it went. The winner never came to look at the car, sent his deposit and then brought a trailer to pick it up two weeks later. He only briefly looked over the car, checked the VIN number and compared it to the radiator cover, and then brought the trailer around to load it up. I asked him if everything looked OK and he said yes as he loaded it up. He paid me, we transferred the title, and he took the car. Now he's complaining that the car wasn't as it was described, is saying I cheated him, and is threatening to sue me if I don't give him some of his money back. I told him if he's unhappy to bring the car back in the condition I sold it to him, but no response. Help
Need help on starting a classic car restore biz? PLEASE give me honest advice about this idea. I need some guidance. Im 32 and have a fair knowldege of old cars. I rent a small apartment in brooklyn with my parents. Me and popps want to buy and sell muslce cars from the 70's. We dont have space or garage. The car will be on the street until it is sold. We are thinking of getting ones that are almost fully restored90% that need minor work. 1. My question is that would this be ok if we just buy one and sell it and make a profit and then take the money from the first sale and buy more. 2. Is there a market for 70-72 Chevelles or cars like this. Woudl it be worth it in todays economy? 3. Eventhough i have no garage or driveway would it be ok to park it on the street. I will get full insurance coverage. Im just scared. Is it practical. 4. Click this link and tell me if this car is too cheap and why do i see some like this that are worth 30k dollars and this is way cheaper...what is the difference here. Am i missing something? http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/mld/cto/943519199.html thanks very much and please address all ?'s thanks again people BASICALLY WHAT IM TRYING TO SAY IS THAT , WOULD THIS BE A WASTE OF TIME? Putting on a classic car show. Can I get some input please? Okay, Our non profit organization wants to start an annual car show in Santa Barbara, California. To get the community more involved in our organization, as well as people outside Santa Barbara. We have a new program but need to raise more money for it to start. The cars don't really necessarily need to be limited to just cars. I've never put one on before, been to a few and even entered a couple back in the days. Many years ago. I know times may have changed by then. I have a couple questions for all car club members, people who have been to these shows, or anyone that can give me ideas. 1. Does anyone have any contact information on other car clubs. What is the appropriate way to invite other car clubs to this car show and have them bring there cars to enter into a contest. 2. What catagories are the normal for trophies? I can't remember the names. I just have years stuck in my head. Do they do 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies? Or just 1st place? Do they have best all around trophies? Do people still do the car hopping contest? Stereo sound and anything else that I can think of? 3. We're going to be doing a silent auction/BBQ as well. What type of side dishes do they usually serve at shows these days. I remember just tri-tip sandwhiches and sodas and chips. I would like to do a little more then that! LOL 4. Do they still have those really cool looking Schwin bikes that people show or other brand names? Should I include that? 5. What is the going rate for Entry fees to enter the vehicles into the contests? 6. Do they usually charge spectators, or should we sale raffle tickets as the admission fee?? Those are the main questions. But if I'm missing anything, please let me know your ideas. Thank you so much in advance! I'm excited about this, but also can't remember what all was involved! LOL I just remember sitting next to my truck for hours.
How to sell antique & classic cars online? I am handling the sale of an estate. It includes a 1964 1/2 Mustang, 1941 Chevrolet, 1969 Charger (the Gen. Lee year?) and an Alfa-Romero. Advice sought on the best way to get the widest buyer base?
I have a 1976 Corvette with 13K orig. miles. Is there a site that specializes in classic Vettes for sale? Where's the best site (NOT ebay) to advertise my antique Vette for sale? I'm 64 years old and not a skilled computer user. My Vette: 1976, 4 speed, silver, 13,000 original miles, original G7015 Firestone white letter tires, flawless black leather interior, tank sticker, never seen rain or snow, one previous owner, a perfect car. Thank you.
Does anyone know the best way to check a classic car VIN to see if it was stolen? I am looking at buying a car that was found in a barn and has no title. The seller can only provide a bill of sale as it was given to him by an old lady in trade for some work. She doesnt have the title either and it appears that it was last registered in the mid 80's. I would like to verify that it isnt stolen before I buy it but most of the online verification services like CarFax require at least 17 characters. The car is a 1973 and only has 12 numbers. Does anyone know how best to find this out? Thanks in advance to anyone with answers.
I am looking for a 1977 (or '76) Chevy Malibu Classic Station Wagon. Can anyone help me? I am looking to buy a 1977 (or '76) Chevy Malibu Classic Station Wagon. It is for my son - this was the first car he remembers from our family, and I would like to surprise him. Thank you for any help.

Please just some suggestions. Thanks The imprezza is nice, but by me they are still too expensive used, I was looking more into the neon and upgrades for it, I might go look for one if i can.

Am in Lichfield, Staffs and I am looking for £3k (pretty please!) It is worth at least that, I reckon at a show it could fetch £ 4500 but I am going on holiday end august and need the cash!
Help with VAT on UK CAR TRADERS Vehicles...? Heres a scenario... Lets call the firm "Re-Cars" "Re-Cars" are based in the UK and specialise in the restoration of classic cars. The cars are sourced in the UK and a purchased cheaply from a PRIVATE individual, ((where recipts do not show vat)) The company also purchases lots of materials and tools to restore the cars ((recipts show VAT)).. The vehicles sell from the forecourt. The Company sells ALOT of cars, so much so the TURNOVER is in excess of £150,000 per year, so the company is forced in to bieng VAT Registered.. Hurray... Now the tricky bit... Because the company is VAT Registered.. Do the Cars Sales invoices have to show the VAT?
How do I get a lawyer in San Jose Ca, when I have no money but it is a clear case of theft and embezelment.? I pre paid a body/paint shop $9,000 to work on my cars that I left with him along with many parts. They were to be finished over a year ago. Now he has taken my cars and hidden them and wants another $7,500 and is going to sell my cars if I do not pay him. All my money is in those classic cars. He has cost me thousands in lost sales of these cars. and I dont want him to get away with this.I last saw the cars in July 05 when I gave him a final extension to complete the work he had been paid for. When I went to get them in November he gave me the ultimatum to pay up or loose the cars, which are worth over $80,000 when restored
The best car for a 16 year old boy? I get my license in about 30 days and i have no idea what car I want to get. I may be receiving my stepdad's old 2004 GMC sierra extended cab, but more recently his sister is getting rid of her 1997 acura. My mom has been telling me that I most likely will be getting that car, but I really dont want it. It is white and looks like the most girly car I have ever seen. Also, my stepdad's father just got a brand new truck and I may be getting his 2000 Ford truck. I can not stand the way Ford trucks look, especially the older models. Not to mention that I am terrible at driving larger cars, I've been practicing the entire 6 months on our BMW. Also, I have the option of persuading my dad into buying me a car. But I have no idea what car would be best for me. I'm not exactly sure what price range I have, but I know both sides of my family have a lot of money (my dad buys classic cars almost every week). I get straight A's and have never gotten a B on a report card to this day, so I feel as though I am deserving of a good car. All of the other "cool kids" and alot of my friends have nice cars to drive to school already. 2 have Hummer H3, one has a brand new 2008 red BMW, there's a brand new cadillac sedan, and many nice jeep wranglers. There are also alot of Nissan 350z's. But another thing I have to take into mind is that if I get into the university of my choosing and move out of my city, my stepdad and mom agreed to buy me whatever car I wanted. So I'm stuck on what I should do. I'm afraid that if I have my dad buy me a car, then the chances of me getting a nice nice car when I graduate will go down. But I'm also afraid that if I have to drive the old acura and ford that I wouldn't fit in and I would have troubles parking it in the tight compact spaces of the student parking lot and end up making a fool of myself. What should I do? I've been looking on the Internet day and night trying to find cars for sale somewhere near central California. I really like the Nissan 350z between 2003-2007, and also the madza3 hatchback. I just want a sporty looking car that I can get around town in easily and fast, and that is comfortable for me to drive and that I could call my own. What should I do, and do you have any suggestions on the car I should try to buy?
car choice? i am going into my first year of college in the fall i am 16 years old and i need a car. i have 12k saved up from work and the sale and resale of some classic cars i bought cheap and ripped some people off with. but anyway. i want something that i will be proud to drive but i dont know if i want a sporty car which i would really like like a wrx or s2k. or if i should just go for a cheap gas saver like a carolla or somthing. by the way i dont have the best luck with the ladies.
Classic cars question 1965-1972? I have a price range from 5500-10,500. I was wondering what kind of cars i can get that might be for sale around that price range that are decent but defintly need some work...i was looking at a 1969 Chevelle SS...whcih im in love with but what other cars have GOOD FAST motors in the year range...anyone help me out?
What are some (safe) car prank ideas? My friends and I are pulling car pranks on each other. Its guys vs. girls, basically.. It just seems like the guys are two steps ahead every time... The classic seran wrap, car paint and for sale signs have been done.. But what are some other good ways to get them back? (without harming their cars)
Suppose you own classic cars, and you drive them around for years and people are always stopping and asking? if you'll sell? And you don't want to sell. Then, when you absolutely MUST sell one, you can drive it around with a For Sale sign, you can list it in the paper and on Craig's List, you can contact the same people who have always wanted to buy it, and show it dozens of times, and no one wants to buy it, no matter how much you are willing to sacrifice by lowering the price for them. What's this? Is it Murphy's Law? I don't think I like Mr. Murphy. One's a '63 Fury Max Wedge (only 65 made), one's a '69 Buick GS convertible, '55 Chevy wagon, black w/ holographic ghost flames gorgeous (that one was supposed to sell, but the guy wasn't serious and we decided not to sell that one. At this point we'd sell it too. There's more, but those are a few. yeah, 1968 Buick GS convertible.
Where Can I Buy or Import an Ambassador Classic in the US? I was in India earlier in the year, and fell in love with the Ambassador Classic made by Hindustan Motors. The car is very reminiscent of 1950's US cars. I'd like to know if there are any in the US for sale, or how I can import them into the US. http://www.hmambassador.com/
