Where do classic car parts distributors and online stores get their parts from? I have great overhead and income and have considered starting my own online classic car parts distribution company. I wanted to find out some more information so I can get a better idea as to what it'd be like. There has to be a main manufacturer that most of these current companies use to get parts. I haven't had luck finding it...Any knowledge/ideas?
How can I check if a classic car has a salvage title, without seeing the title? I am considering buying a 1973 car to restore. The "owner" has no title. How can I make sure that it does not have a salvage title? Will the DMV tell me that information if I am not the owner? The for-profit vehicle history report websites cannot recognize a VIN shorter than 17 characters, which many classic cars do. I am in California.
How do i keep a classic car in good condition? I'm buying my first classic car this summer (possibly a Ford Prefect 100E). How do store it to stop it rusting in winter? And are there any routine checks i should make? If so, how often, and what do i need to look for? I haven't bought it yet. I'm getting it at the end of July
How to maintain and preserve a perfect black paint job on a classic car? My Dad will have finished painting my 1964 EH Holden by next weekend. He has painted it black, and we've kept the roof white. I'm after some advice on how best to preserve the paint job. Car covers, products that protect the paint while you're driving, best washes/sponges/cloths etc, any advice at all from people who have had black cars or have classic cars.
do i have to use a car seat in a classic car to transport a child? I live in Ontario, Canada and have a classic car (1967 Cadillac Eldorado). My child is three and uses a car seat in our other cars. The car seat doesn't fit right in my classic car. Should I still use the car seat or just go "old-school". I heard that classic cars were "grandfathered" and you didn't need to use a car seat, but was wondering if that's true.
Where is there a classic car mechanic near Rancho Cucamonga, California? My house is full of classic cars and my father is not a great mechanic. These cars have a lot of potential, but first I want them to run perfect without problems for awhile. Basically new organs which requires a lot of experience, skills and knowledge. Does anyone know a great, trustworthy classic car mechanic/restorer near Rancho Cucamonga?
What type of classic 60s car should I restore? I'm 14, and I want to do restore a classic car. This is a trial and error project, I am looking for an earlier 60s model. Is it possible to rent a classic car to drive to Vegas from Texas? Hi, I'm getting married later this year and would LOVE to rent a classic car to drive to Vegas for our honeymoon! Buying a classic car by private treaty after it failed to sell at auction? Hi, let's assume there is a classic car with an estimate of 4000-6000. It didn't sell at the auction and the auctioneer has now put it up for sale by private treaty. The asking price is now 5000, although it didn't sell at auction. Is this usual practice? I thought they would set a lower price now, to sell the car off. On the other hand, one could always make an offer for, say, 4000. Or even less? Thank you for your input.
How much would it cost to restore a classic car? I might buy a Jensen-Healey which is in good condition under the hood but it is literally sitting under bags of garbage. The interior is pretty good but could use some TLC. How much would it cost to clean up a classic car. Maybe a new hood, new interior (seats). I'm not asking to change the engine or anything severe. I want to keep it looking how it was when it was made.
Where do you park when you have an expensive classic car? Let's say you bought a nice classic car and wanted to go shopping or for a night out. Would you dare to leave a car in a public car park, even though it has few security measures? Or do you park it on the highstreet and risk a load of bystanders? Failing that you could always catch the bus haha... Just interested in how you'd all handle it.
What's the most beautiful classic car you'e ever laid eyes on? I'm not talking about technical achieement, or horsepower. I'm talking about the most beautiful classic car you'e ever laid eyes on. Name of tv programme with a classic car that comes to life? I live in the UK, and grew up in the 90s watching television. There was a programme about a small classic car which would come to life and drive itself around. I also recall it's headlights being emphasised as eyes, so it would move them around etc. It was a very small car, and it was kept in a yard of other cars, which it used to escape from to have 'adventures'. I have a feeling the seats inside were red, if that jogs your memory.
What classic car should I get? I'm planning to try to get my license within the next year & I'd like to get a classic car & to do a restoration project with it. What are great accessories to add to a classic car? Hi, I'm looking into buying a classic car that is already mostly restored. I'm looking into staying original. I'm purchasing a 1969 chevelle locally

Been dating this guy for 2mos & he said that I am like a classic car. How should I take that? Dating this guy for 2 months. We were talking about how we feel about each other and he said I am like a classic car, not a special edition car (btw he likes vehicles...boats, planes, cars, motorcycles). He did explain a little that classic cars have more value, but I'm still not so sure how I should take this. Maybe because I don't know much about cars. Should I be offended or take it as a compliment?

Does any insurance company offer insurance for a classic/antique car that is not parked in a garage? I'm looking to insure an old Ford pickup that I just restored. I don't plan on parking it in the garage every night and therefor wanted to find a classic car insurance policy that doesn't require a locked garage storage. The truck will only be used one or twice a week for pleasure so I don't want to get a typical insurance policy if I can get a classic policy for much less. I tried Hagerty and JC Taylor but have had no luck. Thanks
Where would I go to rent a classic car? Does anyone know where I could rent a classic car in the Saint Peters/Saint Charles Missouri area? My zip code is 63376 and I am getting married next May - me and my fiance were thinking about renting a classic car for our getaway transportation, but I can't find anything on the internet. The one place I did find had an "out of service" phone number listed. Does anyone know of a place I could go? Thank you all so much for your time!
What is a good classic car to drive everyday? I really like classic cars, and would like to get one for an everyday driver. I like cars from the mid-fifties and earlier, I am looking for something in automatic because I have shoulder problems.
Are there any classic and or exotic car rentals in Iowa? My fiance and I are getting married this month and we're still working out the little details. We got to transportation and I brought up the alternative of renting a really nice exotic or classic car to drive away in rather than a limo. Unfortunately, I've been unable to locate any people or places in Iowa that do this. Do I just live in the most boring state in this country or does someone know of a well guarded secret person or organization that does this?
Classic Car "FINDERS FEE"-How do you become a finder? They have ads in Hemmings Motor News offering commissions for finders of pre and post war vintage cars (Rolls Royce, Bentley). Is a used car dealers license required to work as a classic car finder? Thanks
Most underrated classic car of the 1960s? What is the most underrated classic car of the 1960s that doesn't get as much recognition, me I think the Buick Wildcat's and the Oldsmobile Starfire's (the 1960s version of course) don't get enough recognition as much recognition as they deserve and they have alot of power and performance and they're really classy looking cars.

What is the cheapest classic car insurance company? I have a 1973 Mustang, and the classic car insurance I have looked at, Hagerty etc, force you to have options like 10 mile road side assistance, spare part coverage. I don't really need any of that, the car's worth only $3500, and is twice a month only in the summer.
How can I find the value of a classic car? I would like to find the value of a 1969 Pontiac Fire-bird 400 HO. Kelley Blue book doesn't go back that many years and I tried www.nadaguides.com, but that site doesn't go through questions like Kelley Blue book does and I would like to know if there is a website similar to Kelly Blue books for classic car values. Thanks for any help.
How much does it cost to maintain a classic car? Specifically an Oldmobile Rocket 98 from 1952 or a '69 Chevy Impala. I've recently become obsessed with old cars and (Of course) my mother told me to figure out how much it would cost to maintain a classic. So...it'd be fantastic to know how much that'd cost!
how much horsepower would you like in your classic car? If you were to drive a classic car from the 60's and 70's, how much horsepower would you like to have in your car? I would like to have about 300-350bhp from a small block V8 motor and anywhere from 350-450bhp from a big block V8 motor.

Retirement Party Ideas for a Classic Car Fan? I am planning a retirement party for my step-father and he likes classic cars. I want to have something in Philadelphia PA but it seems like most places that house classic cars are either really far away or charge per person. I envisioned a place with some catering stations or pass hourdevours while he and his friends can check out the classic cars. If I can't pull this off, I just need some quick ideas. He retires the end of May.
What newer car will make a good Classic car in 20 years???? I have a white 97, 4door, 6cyl Chevy Lumina with 55000 miles in perfect condition. its been sitting for about 6 years. Will this car make a great classic to restore in about 10-15 years. If so when restoring is complete how much do you think it will be worth???
Restoring a classic car as a hobby? I've been thinking about bringing up the subject with my dad. I asked my mom a while back and she liked the idea. Do you people think restoring a classic car on our spare time as a hobby is a wise idea? I'm not really sure what king of car, mind you, but I was thinking about an Austin Cooper S.
Temporary classic car insurance for 17 year old in the uk? I am 17 and have passed my driving test, so hold a full UK license, i wan't to borrow my dad's classic car for a day, to take my date to the the end of year prom. Would it be a bad idea to get a classic car (60s-70s) as my first? I'd figure it won't cost as much to get a used classic car, especially one that's beat up a bit. That would give me time to work on the car myself, gain some experience along the way, and customize it to my own wants. However, thinking about this makes me feel worried that it's not a safe idea, due to the lack of safety features back then. I'd also have to learn on a manual, which I have no experience on. Lastly, how would insurance be? It's just an idea I haven't put too much thought into, so if you all agree it's a bad idea, I wouldn't complain. I was thinking of a 1970 Pontiac Trans Am. Is that a good idea? The only problem is I have no idea how to really work on cars. I don't want to mess with the mechanical stuff, but I think I might be able to change the seats or something.
I would like to buy a classic car soon thats easy to maintain and run? What kind of classic car would be a good as a first time classic. Wisconsin- Who will rebuild a classic car for a deserving older gentleman? This is an older man who will do anything for anyone, he has had some health problems and wants to fix up a classic car. The car was originally mine, the last thing my father gave me, he fell in love with it and knowing I could never do the work, he now has it. He says he'll fix it up and we can all drive it. But for him it would be alot of work, he recently had an accident, while working and broke ribs and other, and may never fully recover. He would love to have this car fixed up and be able to drive it. Just the nicest man who deserves to have something done for him. As He has always doen everything for everyone. These shows exist in other states, that will re-model a vehicle, but what about in Wisconsin or will one of these TV shows, pick up a vehicle from Wisconsin. ??? God Bless, we do!!!

Would you drive a classic muscle car if it has been converted? Assuming it is safe and mechanically sound, would you drive a classic muscle car like a 1966 or 1967 Mustang if it has been converted from a gasoline to either an all electric or to a hybrid gasoline electric? The bodies are in very good shape, and the interiors are in good condition, appropriately dated to the late 60's era. I'd like to know why or why not.
Classic car restoration question for the body work pros? When restoring an old 60's model chevy, how much would a good body shop charge to fix rusted areas around the windshield and back glass? Is it a lot of work? When choosing a car to restore, are there areas that might be rusted that make a car not worth messing with? I can do everything myself except body work, that just isn't my knack.
How much would it cost to restore a Classic Muscle Car? I want to restore either a 67-79 Mustang or a Same Year Challenger or Coronet...(or any other classic or not so classic but powrful muscle car. I was wondering what a ballpark estimate would be if I did most of the work and had a mechanic or specialist do the extreme stuff. Also..I was wondering if the price to restore a car depended on the car itself...if so please give me an example of an easy and cheap to restore car. Thanks in advanced
Which classic American car should I hire for school prom? I need to arrange for a car for school prom. We have been looking at classic american cars e.g. the 1950s pink cadillac but there are 6 of us and that wont fit us all in. Which car do you think we could use? Thanks! :) The car must be able to seat 6 passengers + driver i.e. 7 people!
What motivates people to take their classic car to a car show? I imagine you have to pay to display it, so I would imagine that unless you get something out of it (monetary or an award or something), most people would not be willing to display their car if they are just spending money to show it, unless it is just pride alone.
Any ideas for making a classic car a little safer? I have just purchased a 67 mustang with plans to race and i am open to any and all suggestions to make it a little more safer. And thanks i already know its an unsafe car so i dont need anyone to tell me.

Is there a site were they have very detailed instructions, hopefully with pictures. Unless somebody, anybody can give me very good detailed instructions. I am pretty new to the classic car hobby especially dealing with electrics. Thanks in advance.
Would buying a classic car be expensive I'm planning on purchasing a 57 Caddy. I know the MPG is low but I also know the car insurance would usually be cheaper with these cars plus I took drivers ed. Would the cheaper insrance make up for the low MPG? Sources? Wouldn't taking drivers ed lower the insurance cost?
I have a 1992 Ford Probe LX. Will it become a classic car in 10-20 years? I love the design of this car and am the first owner. However, I have already replaced the engine twice and afraid that keeping it will only cost me more money including insurance. If someone (experts, car enthusiats, classic car owners, etc.)can logically convince me that it will become a classic then I'll keep it. Otherwise, I'll sell it.

Where do I find a classic car? I am looking for a 1968 or 1969 Camaro Z28 SS. I want a project car that I can work on does anyone know of a good place that I can start to look. I would like one that is no more than about $2,000, so I don't really care if it runs. It would need to have a good frame, but everything else can be shot. I have looked on ebay and found one but they wanted $2,300 for one that didn't run didn't have a transmisson rusting floor panels and bent and broken doors and hood panels. I thought that was a little much for that condition. I live in Ohio so if there is a good place near me that would be even better. Thanks for you help.
