Do I have to pay the balance on a repossessed car that I cosigned for? The main owner purchased the car in OR and then moved to CA. The car was repossessed from CA (I reside in OR) and sold at auction. I was never sent any communication that the vehicle was in danger of being repossessed, otherwise I'd have picked it up and started making the payments. Towed Junk Car - Fees and Impound? I was in the process of getting the title for my car so i could junk it. The problem is that it was towed today and now sits in an impound collecting a $50 a day charge. The state (ca) cannot get me a real title for 60 days so i cannot sign over the title to the tow company. So the car is going to sit there for 30 days then they (tow company) will sell it at auction. Whats going to happen to me as far as fees? Will the tow company come after me? Should i pay the current fines and have them tow it back to my house until i get the title?

The person had an account for one day with a zero rating, and closed his ebay account right after he bought my car (so now I can't rate him if he screws up). Some choices are 1999 Buick Century, 2002 Chevy Malibu, and 2002 Dodge Neon. All are 4 door, automatic with AC. The Century and Malibu have similar specs. How many vehicles can an individual buy and sell per year in Ca. without a dealers license? ? he and I are very mechanically apt but due to bad choices in the past the chances are slim that either of us could obtain a dealer or salesperson license in Ca.. question regarding auto repo's and collections? Has anyone ever had their vehicle repossessed by Toyota with someone named KIM involved? My SUV was repo'd by TMCC(Toyota) in CA.The next day after realizing they took my car I called TMCC and got my lease reinstated.I notified them that I would pay the amount owed- apprx. $1500. towards the end of the month. I was told it would be fine and that they would have my car held at the repo place. I never received anything in mail re:reinstatement.When I called repo place day I was to pick up car, I was told car was not there. Called TMCC: "Kim" handled call and after hearing my story, put me on hold forever, but then came back & told me car was at auction house & she stopped the sale which was to take place in 2 days &I could go pick up car next day for the amount I owed that was past due (apprx. $1500).Next day, rec'd call from her coworker telling me if I wanted car back, I had to pay full price of car! She wouldn't put kim on phone, & my car was sold.My car was in major wreck, rebuilt and they managed to sell it for almost $30,000. Did something illegal happen here?
Trying to get all my ducks in a row for debt settlement? okay so I pulled my credit report, and I found out that I had a debt remaining from a repossession that was done in 2007... by the way I live in Kansas. so I contacted the bank were the loan and repo are from they told me to contact there attouney and that I would have to speak with them about it. I contacted the attourney and asked the representitive to send me a list of what they think I owe, she sent it to me as well as a demand letter to pay full balance of 637.14. the break down is this Repo expense, Late Charges, Interest, and remaining that they did not get at auction for my car. (by the way was a 2002 grand am that they sold for 425.00, it was worth 3500.00 what a crooked system) anywho. I sent them a settlement offer via email, with the offer being 385.50, which is the amount of just the repo cost. should I have done anything different???? that is my question. here is the jist of my letter. Dear Collection Manager: I have learned that you claim that I owe a debt to your collection agency. I must note that I have not yet verified this debt as legitimate and, as you are undoubtedly aware, I have a full right to do so under Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. However, I will try to save us both time and effort and settle this alleged debt out. Below is my offer. It is not a renewed promise to pay nor does it constitute any agreement unless you sign and return it. Again, I have not agreed that this debt is mine and have an option and a right to request further proof from your agency regarding this debt. Wrong Info On Traffic Ticket? I live in Los Angeles Ca. After my boyfriend and I broke up, my car permanetly broke down, so he gave me a car that he had bought at a auction, and said I should just keep it and get it reg. in my name. The plate on the car had current stickers. A couple of weeks ago I was pulled over and the officers said that the licence plate on the car did not go to it. I showed them the paperwork I had and they issued me a citation to get the reg. done. well when the courtesy notice came in the mail I noticed that my drivers licence # was wrong, and that the spelling of my name was also incorrect, and when I tried to access the ticket on the phone, the system told me there were no citations for my drivers licence number. Does that mean that the ticket is invalid, they did not have a licence plate number for the car nor do they have my correct drivers licence #. I forgot to mention that the address on my drivers licence is not where I live anymore, the courtesy notice came to where I live because the officer asked my address. So I guess what I am asking is, what is the worse thing that can happen if I just ignore it?
Anyone make $$$$$$$ selling cars? I was laid off and my unemployment is running out.... applied for bunch of jobs but either I'm underqualified or overqualified. So I was thinking maybe buying cars dirt cheap and reselling at a hefty profit. The problem is that I'm having a hard time finding any deals. Some dealers here advertise specials like $88 cars but whenever I go there's always long line of people already waiting. I've been to public auctions but they go for close to retail. Can't go to dealer only auctions because I don't have a license. Have checked Craigslist, Pennysaver, Autotrader, Cars and others but none that I can resell for any worthwhile profit. So where do you find the dirt cheap cars for resale? And how many cars can I sell in CA without being categorized as a "dealer"?
I want to buy a USED 2006 Saab 9-3 - where do I take it for repairs? I need a car, and have always liked Saabs. I'm choosing between a Saab 9-3, or Audi A4. But the Saab will cost up to $10K LESS than an Audi. I'm concerned w/ where I would take it for any repairs (either mechanical or body) and service maintenance etc... The car I'm looking at is a 2006 9-3 Arc w/ 26,000 mil, for $16.9 (but I think I can negotiate lower). I looked up carfax and it was sold in CA as 2 yr personal lease. And then bought a Pacific Auction by a Nissan dealership. Questions? 1) Can I take the car to a Saab repair to get it checked out before purchase? 2) What Saab repair is recommended in Seattle? I've read reviews, but now confused. 3) I only drive about 6,000/mi year 4) Should I buy an extended warranty with it? 3) Should I scrap the Saab and just buy Audi? Help... I need a car!
Where and how do I sue for vehicle? I'll try to keep it short: A year and a half ago I bought a car off ebay, paid just under 10k from a guy in CA (I live in AZ). When I got there to pick it up he did not have the title and eventually sent it to me 6 months later. The car ended up being salvaged (which he did not disclose earlier) and the vehicle had changed hands 4 times (insurance to auction, auction to him, him to a woman he got it back from due to non payment) with no one ever completing the title change. So on the back of the title there was nowhere to put my name and is still in the insurance co. name To this point I have not been able to complete the title change and it is still in his name. I've asked him to take the car back but said he doesnt have the money, I have started the bond process to put it in my name which is expensive. So far I've verified no one else has interest in the car, so it's not stolen. I want to sue this clown but how and where do I begin?
What are my rights to co-signing for a lost vehicle with an outstanding loan? Here is the situation... I co-signed on a vehicle for a person who since day one has been the sole driver. He took the vehicle out of state without my permission, stopped making payments for which I have been held responsible for, then totalled the vehicle by speeding off a ramp and failed to report the accident to me. After learning of the accident +3 months later I made a claim to my gap insurance only to be denied due to lack of insurance on vehicle and claiming past the 90 days allowed from date of accident. Then when I contacted the towing company they told me the vehicle was sold at auction. No notice was ever sent to me or the bank that they had the vehicle and were going to sell if not recovered. I can not find the co-signer, last I know he is in CA where the accident took place and I am still making payments on the car that is not in my possession. What can I do? Legally? I need advice. I have learned my lesson. Will he ever be held responsible? How can I find him?

Fundraising ideas? Candy sales are banned from CA schools next year, so we need to find new ways to fundraise. are there any other ideas besides candy sales, car washes, silent auctions, bake sales, battle of the bands etc. i'm open to any ideas, but the simpler the better. (optional-----this is for a club, so are there any ideas that can involve a lot of people and also easy to organize on a school campus?)
My ford zx2 recently died and gone to car heaven. Looking to get into something, anything other than a ford. ? I live in the Pasadena, CA. area and heard police auctions are a place to find a used vehicle. Does anyone out there know how I can find the location of these auctions around the San Gabriel Valley area? Or any other suggestions you can throw out there.
