Lease vs buy a car, in cash or by credit? What is my best option? I got $20,000 from a settlement and I am ready to buy a brand new car (a hybrid one). what if I lease the car? or what if I give a small down payment and pay montlhy or just go ahead and buy the car in cash up front? What would you do in my case? please. Thank you great to see all these wise advices thanks to you all.
lease vs. buy a car? Next summer I plan to get a new car. I am wondering now if I should save up the money and just buy a used car, or save up money still and lease a car. I know a lot of people are against leasing but I like the fact that I would be able to get another car every few years because I love new cars. However, I just started building my credit a few months ago, so I don't know how much my monthly payments will be. You know how they have commercals saying starting at $259 a month for example? And that is for someone with perfect credit lets say how much more do you think it would be for just average credit? I also figure buying a used car I would have to spend more money on it in repairs etc then fewer problem with a leased car what do you think?
UK Car lease vs Buy ? Hi, I am about to get my first car as soon as i pass my test, i have been looking up leasing a car instead of buying.... What would be best for me ? and which company is the best leasing price for a MPV (Vauxhall Zafira) Thanks Lee
What is the difference between Lease vs buying a car? Does lease also involve interest? Can someone explain in detail & easy manner. I'd appreciate it!! Thanks.
Should we lease or buy the car? So..my grandpa owns a big car dealership in WA, and he and my dad have worked together to get me a really good deal on a car. We've been talking about leasing vs buying, and I need some outside help. Basically, they're offering me $100 over involice on what should be a 23,000 car. If I lease, it'll be 271.22/month (with gap insurance), at 0.006%. A $1000 down payment, and the first month's payment is covered with a grant for recent graduates. So basically either way, lease or buy, I'm walking out with a 2010 car with 43 miles on it, no cash exchanging hands. So here's where the debate comes in. If I buy: After 5-7 years, the car is mine. No mileage restrictions Don't have to be overly-careful about excessive wear/tear BUT: Higher interest (normal 4-5%), interest paid on entire price of vehicle, and paying for a new vehicle for the entire term of the finance. If I lease: Car is mine for 3 years only Have to be careful about wear/tear and mileage 0.006% interest paid on first 9,000 or so of car. After lease is up, if I choose to buy, I'm financing a "used" vehicle, not the price of a new one If I get bored after three years, I can trade up, or get out. My husband and I drive about 15,000 a year, so we'd have to cut that down to get under the 36,000 limit. We are not interested getting a "forever" car - even if we bought a car, we don't see ourselves keeping it for the life of the financing even. Terms of lease: 36 months, 12,000 miles. Only paying about $27/month sales tax. Insurnace would only go up by $128 for six months (leasing or buying) No other fees at all - not a single dealer charge, etc. Like I said, my dad is hooking me up. We just had our used car die on us. We bought a 1998 Ford Explorer for $1800 cash. Never had a car payment in our lives. We liked it that way. But we don't have enough in our savings for another cheap used car. We've had it 18 months, and it only lasted us 20,000 miles. We don't want to go through that again. The lease is looking appealing because of the warrenty covering the life of our "ownership." Please don't say "never do this" or "always do that" - some reason behind your answer would be really great! Thanks!
Buy vs Leasing car for coast guard? What would you recommend for someone joining the coast guard? Buying means I can take it overseas if I have to, but a lease means I can be paying less per month, and with the small income of an E1 I think this may be a better option. Also if anyone knows, how often do you change duty stations? Is it once a year or every few years? And what are my chances being stationed overseas? What the hell is Mormon supposed to do with this? And I'm not one.
Lease vs Buying a car/suv? I would love to have a Range Rover however I am having a hard time convincing my self that it is ok to pay $800 for a car note. I was thinking about leasing it and then maybe purchasing it at the end of the lease. I would like to know the pros/cons of leasing a car? I currenlty own a 99 Max with 196000 miles; she is going strong but I want to be prepared just in case I have to purchase a car. I bought the car new and I have put about $2K into her for repairs to replace original parts.
What happens if you default car lease vs loan? If you buy a car with a car loan, and default, you lose your car and owe the remaining balance of the loan. If you only lease a car for 3 years, and default, you lose your car and only owe the remaining balance until the end of 3 years? Is that the only difference? (in both cases, you have a bad credit report, no car, and owe money)
What should I know about leasing a car vs. buying a car? I'm fixing to purchase or lease my first car on credit? I just wanted to know what people think about leasing v. buying?
Subaru Forester Lease vs. Buy? I am coming to the end of a lease on an '08 Subaru Forester. Since getting the car, I've been through a lay-off and a job change. My credit picked up two late-pay dings while I was unemployed, but I've been steady with my bills for the past four months. My car lease ends in November. Would it be cheaper for me to buy the car I'm leasing, or sign on for a new car lease? My new job pays 10K less than I was making before and I don't want to pay more than $250/month for a car if I can avoid it. I'm also curious to know what my fees might be if I buy at the end of my lease versus leasing another Forester.
What are the advantages of leasing vs. buying a car? It seems like this, but please correct me if I'm wrong, and please add more if I missed something Advantages) -Smaller monthly payment -Depending on lease term, you may always have a car under warranty -Residual is guaranteed Disadvantages) -Mileage limit -Can't do anything you want with the vehicle
leasing vs buying a car for a small incorporated company? I could easily pay cash for a car and would even consider a late model used one. I do not understand tax, depreciation and that sort of thing.
Lease vs. Buying a car? I would like to know the benefits in doing either. Would leasing really save us money?
Is there a difference between buying a car that was owned vs leased? We are interested in buying a car but the carfax report states the car was a leased car. My question, should I be wary from a car that was titled as a commercial lease vehicle vs a car that was titled as a personal vehicle? Thanks.
lease vs. regular car buying? what is the difference (if there is any) between lease and regular car buying? When buying a car what fees need to be payed beside sellers price? Thanks
How does car insurance work? (also whats better buying a car vs leasing)? well im 16 right now. planning to save up till 18 and buy a car. my first question is, how does car insurance work? i know you have to pay monthly and depending on each car its different but would car insurance be cheaper when the car is leased? or when its bought? also i know each car depreciates alot every year. at first i was thinking of leasing it but now im not sure. can someone tell me what would be a better choice on the long run?
Leasing vs. buying a car...what would be best for me? I am a stay-at-home mom. My husband drives many miles for work everyday. We put a lot of money into his truck and are looking to downsize for me, since I rarely drive farther than the grocery store. I have heard that a car lease will offer more affordable monthly prices. I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what to look for when leasing a car? Or maybe the best cars on the market right now with the best lease deals? Anyone have any bad experiences with leasing a car? I am looking to stay around $100-$200 per month price range, if possible. Thanks for the answers!
car: opt. 1 buy new or rent new, opt 2 buy used? i was just curious about leasing vs. buying. i've read about it but the thing i can't take away from it is whether or not leasing a new car is better than buying a used car. i just looked at the bmw 328i leasing schedule: down payment: 4,924 monthly payment: 349 total cost for 3 years: $17,488 to buy same car: msrp: $39,100 @ 10% finance for 48 mos: $47,600 clearly the former is better than the latter, not to mention warranty costs, etc. but what if you buy a used 3 series bmw, say 2006 model at 40k miles, it'd be around (say) $22,000, with the 10% interest at 48 months is $26,783 for the total cost. but it's older and again, warranty won't be as prevalent. just trying to figure out what makes the most sense. i guess the hard thing to reconcile mentally is that even though you don't keep your leased car after 36 months (unless you want to buy it which i wouldn't do), technically a lease IS buying your car, but only for a specified period of time. help me understand my options and what is most sensible if you can. thanks.
Leasing vs. Buying a car? I am wanting to lower my monthly car payment. I like change, so I don't like to keep a car for any longer than 5 years, max. What are the advantages and disadvantages of leasing versus buying a car? And what about costs of leasing vs. buying?
Lease vs. buy? miles driven? If you lease a car, how does number of miles driven affect your monthly payments or total cost of the lease to you? Thanks in advance!
?!?!?!?Lease...or....buy poll?!?!?!?(I want ur OPINION+Experience)? How do you feel about leasing a car vs buying a car. All opinions count Thanx!!!!!!!!!
Leasing a car vs. buying a 2nd hand car? I need a car with which I'll commute about 100 miles a day over the next year. I have a budget limited to 7K max, what is the most financially viable option, considering the possibility of selling the 2nd hand car if I buy one now? Leasing seems expensive and value is lost away- especially in long commutes - any recos /experiences on that would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.
how to import a car from USA to Canada? I am moving from USA to canada next month. I have an expensive car lease which is about to expire. Should I buy the car and take it to Canada? or am I better off returning the car and look to lease a car in Canada? I love leasing VS buying.
buying vs leasing a car? I'm looking at certified used Toyota Corola for around $15,000. If I'm planning to keep the car for 5 years, is it better to buy or to lease?
Insurance rates of a new leased car vs. a used car? I am looking for a car to drive, and it's my first car. I am wondering what the difference in insurance costs would be between: a) A brand new leased car b) A fairly old used car I know it depends on the type of car, but lets go with a honda accord, because that's what I would buy/lease. Also, I am 16. Is it possible for my dad to "own" the lease but designate me as the driver of the car?
Do you think i should lease or buy?maybe lease for a year to establish credit? I have owned a couple of cars already and looking for new one but now thinking about maybe leasing that way not only would i be leasing or driving a newer model car vs buying an 04-06 but i would also be establishing credit or better credit.any opinion on advantage or dis advantages?maybe do it for a year or two? thanks
Trying to decided which is better Lease vs Finance vs Rental Car long term? I am buying a car next month and im trying to figure out which route is better for me. Should i Lease or Finance or Rent my car. I don't want to deal with maintance on a car. I want a newer car. I thought about Renting a car from Hertz or Avis for about $1000-$1500 a month so i don't have to deal with maintance and other problems plus i can switch out cars when i want too. But for that type of money a month if i lease or finance i can have a expensive car than what i get from long-term renting. So what should i do?? Thanks
Cheapest way to get a newer car!?!? I want a Nissan Maxima or Altima, but need to negotiate the best way possible. How can I get the price to drop the lowest? When is the best time to buy a new car? Lease vs. Buy? HELP!!! PLEASE!
Does buying a car vs. leasing save money? I'm thinking about buying a new BMW 328i coupe. I've looked at lease options. Monthly payment is significantly lower compared to buying but all the money is gone 100%. Am I assuming correctly that when I sell it 24 months later I will ultimately end up spending less vs. a lease? Thanks
lease vs purchase car? Consider a car that sells for $27,000. What would be the approximate extra cost between buying the car and leasing and then paying the residual?
What opinions and personal experiences do you have on leasing a car VS buying a car? I am currently car shopping, and was originally thinking my only option would be to buy. However, it has come to my attention that leasing is more of an open option than I had originally thought. Other than the pros and cons and I can think of off the top of my own head, I am trying to find people with leasing experience to see whether or not they liked it, and if so why it was best for them. On the other hand, I'm also looking for opinions on why one thinks its better to BUY new and how it has worked out to benefit them. Thank you :)
what's your opinion about Lease vs. Purchase a car..? I want to buy a new Lexus.. and hubby wants me to leasing a car for 3 yrs. first. so I dont have to worry about to fix the car... whats your opinion.??. thks.. financially we dont have any problem. just I want to keep the car, he wants me to lease the car.. he said.. I can drive new car all the time..
Lease vs. Finance a car (new or used), which is better in YOUR opinion? Give your opinion, or explain your current experience, in which way is better when buying a car, either new or used. no wrong answers
couple of questions about a car lease...? I am looking at new cars... lets say I lease a car for $159.00 per month. Am I able to pay $250.00 a month just in case I decide to buy out the lease at the end of the 36 months? Or is that normally not advised. Also, for a 36 month lease am I able to say at the end of 20 or 24 months that I want to buy it out, or must I wait until the 36 months is up. And lastly, does it typically work out to be about the same price if I lease vs. buying. I don't know yet what I want to do, so I am just trying to get all the facts. Thanks
I am thinking of buying or leasing a car. Which option is better? I am in the market for a car. Frankly I do not know if a lease is for me. I do have to visit clients then and now, so it will be used mainly for work purposes. I need a clear answer on the advantages and disadvantages of a lease vs buying.
Wanted to buy but was told I could only lease.? I was quoted a price by phone then the price breakdown was sent by email. I was pre-qualified through Toyota. The salesman checked it out and verifying I was approved for the car. I went to buy the car. When I got there I was told again I qualified. He went through a lease vs buy discussion whereas he told me he was required to by Toyota After that I still wanted to buy. He comes back & tells me he misfigured and that I fell $50 a month short. Like a dumb "A" I went with the lease. But on the papers was being charged $2000 more than what he quoted. I was told the DVD/Nav was the difference. I told them that was included in the original quote. Heres the catch, the dvd/Nav isn't installed in the car. They told me they would install later in the week AFTER THEY ORDER IT!! I figured out on paper the DVD/nav they were suppodly throwing in and now charging me for was the very thing that put me over! Is there any recourse for me? Any Suggestions? Its been less than 24 hrs and I am sick! I pretty much figured I was sunk here. They kept me there 2 hours after closing. Man I knew better but I didnt catch it in time. The email with the price quote would not help with this matter? If I contacted Toyota explaining the situation if that would help. I cant believe I let them tell me I didnt qulify. After all, how did I qualify for the Lease but not the loan to buy? Dang I feel really stupid right now. So because I did not catch the price change in time I have no recourse even if I reject the dvd/nav?
please help decide.. [would you rather buy or lease??]? I am thinking about buying Audi A4 2.0 T. i am trying to avoid walking inside a dealer before i make up my mind. they gave me online one option on 2008 audi lease $500/ month, with 2000 down for 36 months. i do not know what the pay off after end of leas is. Now would it be better to purchase or lease such car? any information on buy vs lease would help. like for example, if i were to lease, and then after 36 months i decided to purchase the car, would the total paid on the car be same, or not, assuming $2000 down is also made on buying? please help if you have nay idea?? i need to decide buy tomorrow. i am self- emplyed
Lesing a car vs. Buying a car? I am a junior in High school and I might be getting a car. I will only have the car until I graduate High school. When I go to college the chances of me keeping the car is minimal. SO if I were to get a car, should I buy it or lease it. I was also wondering when a car is leased, if i can get free checkups and repairs.
Should I opt out of my lease and buy a used car to save money? I'm considering leaving my full time job and going back to school and need to save as much money a month as possible. I currently lease an Audi for $468/ month w/ about 18 months left. For all you finance experts out there, would it make more sense to stay in my current lease, or opt out of my lease (going thru swaplease), and buy a used car for around 8 or 9k in cash? My thought process is it would save me on monthly payments (although I know I could keep the 9k I would be putting to a used car and just pay my monthly payments from that savings account and maybe earn a tad bit of interest). I also would probably keep the used car at least 2 years, so after my current lease is up in 18 months, I would still need to get into a different car. So, if I got into a similar lease, @468/month, in 2 years, I owuld have spent $11,232 (plus would be in a lease for 2+ more years) vs. purchasing a $9k car now and being able to keep it 2 plus years... Even though in reality, I'll probably want something else in 2 years if I buy a used car today. So what makes more sense??
Leasing a new car vs. Buying a new car? In the past I bought a car instead of leasing. After a few years though I kinda want a newer one. Is leasing better? I just worry about the miles I might rack up, isn't there a fee for that? Also if the car is dirty(on the inside) when you bring it back, is there a fee for that? (I like to eat in my car.) I need to know as much information as possible. thanks
Does the new car sales tax credit apply to leased cars? If you lease a new car before the end of 2009, will that sales tax credit that's on all new vehicles still apply? There's no need to lecture me about the benefits of buying vs. leasing. It's just a question about the tax credit, thanks.
Looking to lease...? I'm fairly new to the car-buying/leasing game... been trying to read up as much as possible about the pros + cons of leasing vs. buying. I can't afford more than $250 a month for a payment, and I can afford to put down maybe 2k. I've been trying to weigh out whether I should just buy a cheaper used, or get a newer lease. I need a SAFE and RELIABLE car that won't crap out on me, as I'm a single mom to a baby and can't afford lots of maintenance besides the norm (oil, brakes, tires, etc.) and can't afford to be without a car for much longer. Any advice on what the best deals out there are for leases? Or whether I should really be looking to just buy instead? Thanks for any and all advice/tips/opinions (unless your opinion is derogatory, and then please take it elsewhere).
For My Next Car Should i Buy New, Lease, or Buy Used? Here are the circumstances: I am moving from east coast to west coast 1 1/2 to 2 yrs from now and I need a second car now. My question is how much cheaper/beneficial is it for me to lease a car vs. buying one since i won't be taking it with me (unless i want to pay hefty shipping costs). Or is the best option to just buy used and sell in 2 yrs? thanks for all the helpful input everyone, I will probably end up going used. I'm going to look into leasing a little bit more before I decide, but used so far seems to be the best bet
Lease or buy first car? I just moved to LA for a job. Never bought a car before. I am wondering what the pros vs cons were to buying a car vs leasing. I dont think I will have a bought care for more than 3-4 years as I will probably move back to the east coast by then... Or I expect the car to be sold.. I'd rather lease a new car with a warranty than buy a car I only 'kind of' like. I know its 'paying for the time rather than owning something' but that doesnt matter much to me... I dont plan on handing this car down to my grandkids...
What are you feelings on leasing vs buying a car? Im kinda at a crossroad. i know my car is gonna go out on me soon so i have been weighing my options. At this point it is absolutely necessary for me to have a low payment. I know leasing a car will give me that option. My credit is....ok (stupid credit card I have to pay off). I dont want a new car and but I dont want a piece of crap car. I feel like it is a waste of money to just keep leasing but I cant afford a high payment
Buying a car vs leasing a car? I really want to buy a new car but I think my credit could be a problem, I don't have much of a credit history since I've never had a credit card and have been paying on a student loan for almost a year. So I know buying a car would be a hassle finding someone who will finance me, but I have heard that leasing a car would be a better option if your credit isn't so good. . .is this true? I do know that there are a lot of variables to a question like this so I'm just simply looking for a "general statement" Thanks
Pros and Cons of Leasing a Car vs. Buying? Thinking of leasing for the first time in my life and want to understand if it really makes more sense than buying a used one that is a few years old (CPO or from a dealership with warranty). And if the car is the type that really holds its value and resells well - low depreciation - is that a pro or con? I understand the tax benfits and the benefit of using the banks money and not your own. Thanks. Just wanted to add that I am talking about sales tax benefits - not income tax. When you lease you only pay sales tax on the portion you pay - not the whole amount.
what is the best organization to consult about renting vs. leasing a used car in a US city? Let's say I'm relocating to Arkansas. But I don't have family there. I want to compare renting versus buying versus leasing a car there. What organization can help me?
lease vs. buy a fleet car? Our company is looking to renew some of the vans. Which is the best deal regarding the cost, repairs, taxes and other implications... lease or to buy?
When is leasing a new car a good idea? When is it a bad idea? My mom wants to trade in her 2007 Lexus ES350 and put the money down for a 3-year lease on a new 2011 BMW 5 series? Is this a good idea or should she just buy it and try to get the best financing rate she can get? How does the fact that BMW's residual value is supposedly pretty strong play into my mom's decision on leasing vs. buying?
Buy vs Lease. Which would be better in my case? My plan is to get a car in the summer (around July). I checked my credit scores online and they are all over 700 (709, 717 and 725), but I also have alot of debt (over 19k). Based on this, what would be a good move in my case? I'm trying to pay down as much debt as I can by the summer. I don't plan to do any big time driving. Just from point a to b; to work, run errands, etc. I also just want a basic compact or sedan.
Signed papers 4 days ago on new car loan, is it too late to lease instead? I signed papers 4 days ago on a new car loan, since then I have thought about leasing, do I have any options? Is there a period where I can go back and ask for a lease vs buy? It is with Ford Motor Company. I have good credit, but I can see that the new payment may have more of an effect on my monthly budget than I thought. Does the buyer have a grace period where they can say, I changed my mind. I know I signed a Spot Delivery Agreement where the dealership can take the car back if financing is not obtained. Thanks
Leasing a car vs buying a car? Ive read the articles about each. But then I started looking at the total ownership cost INCLUDIING insurance and then it became a completely different story. For my age and experience (im 23, license at 17, never had an accident or DUI) for a leased Ford Fusion Hybrid I was looking at a 6 month premium from Geico anyway of like $9000. I was thinking what the heck, is that a mistake, apparently not.
Cars: buying vs. leasing? I am in the market for a new car this year. I'm curious as to any advantages to leasing a car if I'm planning on buying again in 2-4 years (and going hybrid). Recent comparrison tells me that hybrids are still too costly to maintain for me at the moment but I expect the cost to go down over the next few years and plan to invest in one then. If my little piece of junk would hold out that long, I would gladly wait but it just won't make it 4 years... maybe not even 2 lol. Any opinions ??? Thanks in advance :) thanks Chad K. I am interested in the Toyotas... BUT it's not the initial cost that concerns me. :)
what are some reasons to lease v. buy a car? I have never leased - only bought new. My 2004 loaded Mazda6 paid $27K for, now has a trade-in value of $13K!! -and I only have $19,000 20,000 Miles. My car payment is $420/mo. I plan on buying (or leasing??) a new Ford Edge (wow - a nice vehicle) total cost for $30K. I could put down $10K - ll I want to keep my monthly payments low (less and $400), and I plan on owning this car only 2 - 3 years. Should I buy or consider leasing? and why -- ? Thanks.
Can I break my lease to buy the car instead? I have a 4 year lease on a Honda CR-V. Could I break the lease halfway through and just buy the car instead of continuing to lease it? What would it cost to do this?
Auto Lease vs. Auto Loan - which is better option if I need to buy a car now, and buy a house in a year? I and my partner plan to buy a house in one year, but I desperately need a new car 'coz my current car is breaking down. I've heard that an auto lease would NOT affect the mortgage rate, is that true? I wanted to finance the car 'coz I intended to keep the car for a long time. But if auto lease is a better option in terms of getting a better mortgage rate, I'd consider getting an auto lease and paying off the car after the lease ends. Any input would be appreciated. Our credit score is about 760+ to 810. (Please do not copy & paste answers from some other Yahoo members.) I'm not concerning the price of the car at this point, I'd like to know HOW THE AUTO LEASE VS AUTO LOAN WOULD AFFECT THE MORTGAGE RATES. Thanks.
End of lease v. buy option? I have never leased before and I currently lease a 2006 Ford Focus Wagon. I thought leasing was going to be the cheapest alternative for me, but I have noticed that the maintenance checks are getting rather costly in addition to the monthly lease cost. At the end of the lease, what is the best alternative - buy the car or continue to lease another vehicle? Does one end up paying way up the wazoo when buying a vehicle at the end of a lease?
can i refinance my balloon balance payment on my car loan thru a bank vs. car dealer? The original loan was made through car dealer. I thought I would have to do a lease buy out loan.
What is the percentage of people in America that own vs. finance their cars ? my guess is 10%own and 90%finance, but I can't find this information on the web without getting searches that pull up leasing vs. buying.
How do I calculate my savings on leasing a new vs a used car? Is there a formula? We cant agree on whether there is a savings! If we lease a new car we pay a premium though we get a warranty. If we lease a used car I assume we don't pay new car prices though we are charged more interest and must buy a warranty? We need to hear from you as to what to do!
Leasing first car, help me decide? I'm sick and tired of the bus and train and i'm buying my first car. i'm 22 and i know people at teenage years start driving but i'm a late bloomer i guess. I'm thinking of either leasing the Lexus IS or Infinite G35 or Nissan Maxima or BMW 3 series coupe or Mercedes E sport if there is such thing. I'm no car expert, nor am i a car enthusist. I do need help on a wise decision. I know some of you may have other suggestions but i've narrowed it down to those specific cars. So please don't tell me of a car that's not on the list, you'll be waisting your time. Stick to what i have typed down. Which do you think is the best car of all when it comes to fuel consumption, exterior/interior design, power, speed, and whatever else is important to know about the car besides its price tag?? BTW, any article i read on any magazine that talks about leasing v. buying in today's tough economic times and today's automobile market crisis, majority of them suggest leasing as the better option. I've checked the pro's and con's and for me leasing is the better choice. Plus my parents lease, they love it more than buying.
Leasing vs. Owning a car? I am interested in purchasing or leasing a Honda Civic and I was wondering what the pros and cons where for each, which i should do and people's experiences. Is it true that you have a kilometre or mile restriction when you lease? As well, if I leased for a year and then wanted to buy out the car after a year (original lease is for 3 years) could i do that?

09 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Special Edition(lease) vs 09 Mazda 3 (lease) vs 09 Honda Accord coupe LX-S(purchase)? 09 Subaru Legacy 2.5i Special Edition(lease) 09 Mazda 3 (lease) 09 Honda Accord coupe LX-S(purchase) *I would get an automatic Ok here are my options. I am deciding between leasing the Legacy or mazda3(24 month leases), or buying the accord. -I think the legacy seems like the best lease deal at this point. they have a special lease( $159/month, $2k down, for 24 months). For that you get alot of standard features(17 inch rims, power everything, moonroof, upgraded audio system, AWD). sporty look. 170hp -mazda3 : 156hp, 2nd most fun to drive. sporty look, 17 inch rims, compact. probably dont get as many features as legacy. They got good lease specials on 08 Mazda3 sedans(ex: saw one in the paper a few weeks ago for 08 grand touring for 199/month, 2k down, 24 months. ) but i'd prefer the 5 door. At this point virtually 08 mazda 3 5 doors are all gone so i'd have to go for 09. - Accord: 190hp, Looks the best, most fun to drive. Realistically i would get the accord between $21-22k. i'd be putting a down payment and financing for 60 months. Only thing i could say i dont like about it is its a long car for a coupe. In the beginning I was all about buying the Accord. Then the option of leasing a car for 2 years doesnt like a bad idea either. I can drive a car for 2 years, return it and buy something later. Plus it wouldn't be hurting me too much on the wallet. Another reason I would have for waiting on purchasing at this point would be anything can happen in 2 years. I can possibly see myself making more money down the road(promotion, better job) then I would be able to afford a $30k car instead of a $20-22k car. The insurance on the accord and mazda are virtually the same. I assume the legacy would be less if not the same. the Mazda and accord are probably the sportiest ones while the Legacy while it still looks sporty is targeted as family sedan. im 25 and would be the only one driving the car. To sum it up, I could get a good lease deal on the Subaru right now or I could wait till they have lease specials on a mazda 3 5 door(im sure they would once the new year hits) or could TRY to get a better deal on the accord say at the end of the year. Any advice, suggestions, and opinions would be great. Thanks in advance!
What is the Life expectancy of a Police car? Question 1: I need to make a decision as to purchase new police cars, or hire another machanic to keep them on the road longer. Question 2: buy vs Lease
Should I lease or purchase a vehicle? I need a vehicle. I have never leased a vehicle but I have purchased cars twice. I no longer have a vehicle right now. The last car I purchased I sold to my brother after it was vandalized. Somebody tried to steal my rims and tires. I just got a very good job and I have just purchased a brand new house. I can afford a car payment around $450 a month. I have never leased a car and I was thinking about doing so. So please if you have any experience with leasing vs. buying a vehicle please; please advise. I have been going back and forth and I don't know what to do. I'm not looking to purchase or lease a vehicle until mid summer next year; once I finish with school. I have transportation right now. I'm using my girlfriend's car; which is an inconvenience at times but for the most part it's working. Thanks for your answers!!!!!!!!!!!
Leasing v. Buying, and the better choice is? In today's economy and today's economic market troubles i've read in auto magazine articles that leasing is the better choice as opposed to buying. Yes, leasing is like renting a car and you don't keep it at the end or you can keep it if you buy it off whatever it's worth then. My family leases and they love it, We once bought a car, 5 years later it had severe engine problems and my parents had to pay thousands of dollars to keep fixing it and eventually we had to sell it anyways. We paid a lot of money fixing it and nothing ever helped. Since my family has leased they never had problems with cars, never had to worry about mechanical problems and the amount they pay is fair. I'm soon going to lease a car of my own no matter what anyone tells me i'm going to lease. In your opinion, which would you rather do in today's auto market, lease or buy a car and which car would you lease/buy. Also why do you choose one option over the other?
Should I buy my leased car? I have had my Honda CR-V for 3 years and my lease is about up. There's only 20,000 miles on it and is in good shape. Is it a good deal to purchase it at this point? How does that work? What amount do they base the purchase on now? Also, how long can I pay on it if I do purchase it? TIA!!
best car for new driver? I am currently shopping around for my first owned car. I'm a college student; so money is tight. i was thinking of buying a Used car..Is that the best thing..or should I lease a new car..? i figured since it'd be my first car; i should go for a cheaper route..like a older used car ..("old" in my vocabulary being maybe from year 2000 or 2002) I have a nice wad of cash saved up...Also! with the gas going up so much; I was hoping to find a used car with a nice amount of gas per gallon!. what are some cars that fit these descriptions..? or what are your thoughts on used cars VS Leased cars..? Thanks!
How can you calculate how much you can afford to reasonably pay for a car? Would like to gauge how much i should pay monthly on lease and insurance. It helps that i can deduct my car payments through work. But trying to ascertain whether it would be smart for me to buy the car i want vs. what i just need
2009 Subaru Legacy SE(lease) vs 2009 Accord coupe LX-S? I'm going for automatic. Legacy would be a lease for 24 months. Accord would be a purchase. Assuming I can get good deals on both cars(good lease on legacy, good price for the accord), whats the better way to go? The Legacy has a lot of standard features(moonroof, premium audio system, AWD) Looks sporty for a sedan. Not as attractive as the honda IMO but its not bad looking either. I like the accord. Good looking, aggressive, nice features(although u dont get moonroof or premium audio system). Only thing I dont like about it is its long for coupe. 190 inches..thats longer than the old sedan im driving right now(longer then the legacy too) Basically i can buy the accord and probably end up keeping it for 5+ years or lease a legacy for 24 months and have a chance to either purchase a nicer car later on or even lease another car later. What would you guys do? And for those who drive either of these cars, likes and dislikes? 2.5i SE. Don't think this one is turbocharged.
Looking to buy first car (SUV)? Hi, I'm 16 years old from NY so i will be leasing my first car relatively soon. I am currently interested in the chevy tahoe and the jeep wrangler. I am fixed on getting an SUV because of my lifestyle (I surf almost daily every summer, i wakeboard, skimboard, snowboard in the winter, play football and lacrosse during the school year). i will also be driving other people around to do these activities. i might also need to occasionally tow my 15' boat. i live in a suburban area and most of the driving will be done to/from school, sports, and around town at night. I will not be paying the lease but i will be paying for the gas. Which of the two SUV's are a better choice (Tahoe vs. Wrangler)? i am also open to other ideas if anyone knows any better choices.
Hi are Lease Option to Buy Safe? I have to move, rather being force to move cause I was ill in July so my rent was short. Rather than move to rent again I need to buy but credit is not so great. This is a nearly brand new house in a brand new community. BUYING (Mortgage finance) V/S LEASE? I want to know the very exact difference between getting a car on finance loan i.e installments and getting a car on lease. Some say it is cheap to lease. After the lease period what about the payment I have made do I get any percentage of what I have paid. Plz can sumone illustrate an example. Thanx!
Can any dealer buy your lease car? I have a 2007 CR-V and would like to get a different car. My lease is up October 2009 and I'm only $2000 upside down on my note. If I buy a used car from another dealership, other than Honda, will they pay my lease off or the pay off amount?
Business Expense vs Business Writeoff Expense? I work fulltime and have a side business S Corp which doesn't do much but has income enough to pay for a leased business car. Setup 1: I do not writeoff my home office. Ques 1: If I feel like buying a big screen in my living room since I work from my laptop sometimes in front of the tv can this be a Busines Expense AND a Business Writeoff? Setup 2: This S Corp has money that I "loaned" it for starting up. Ques 2: let's say I want to hire some gardener to fix it my yard. Obviosly this cannot be a Business Writeoff, BUT can it be a business expense? so the end all question: Can I basically buy anything I want from my business account, but only writeoff the legit things on my taxes but show them as business costs?
Nissan Murano vs. Ininiti FX35/45? I'm looking into getting a new car and am looking at both the Infiniti & the Nissan SUV and wonder which one is better. Also, should I lease or buy outright ?
OK SO.... howd like to buy me a prius? hehe (its worth a shot) well im turning 16 in august and i need a car so i dont have to ride the gross city bus morning (fearing you are going to get raped every morning and night is not a good feeling.) my family is not poor because i mean we have a computer but they told me they cant afford to get me a car. they work everday, long hours (which is why i take the bus) so they dont just sit around on welfare they simply cant afford it. im going to be a junior next year (I go to University high--- its kinda advanced hence the name university...i am good student with good grades and im going to go to a big college to study sociology, so im gonna need a car to get there and visit my parents.) I also do lots of volunteer work that i have to walk to or ride my bike or the bus because i dont have a car... but if you buy me one i can get there in no time and do more v. work. now before you say no or lease some wise crack remark rememer-----im im a nice, cute girl who is sweeeet and loves you. i guess i meant whod* like to buy me a prius. i guessi m a bit dislexisijeri or whatever too. i do have a job
What are my chances of qualifying for a mortgage? Recently divorced, credit was ruined last few years when ex hubby had 'trouble'. I have since Feb. 2006, raised my credit scores from TU-614 to 631, EQ-539 to 563 and EX-597 to 626. I have acquired two Credit cards and a car loan and have paid all three on time since I got them. I have paid my $800 rent on time for the past 12 months. I have to relocate (long story) and will be looking for employment in that town. I am currently not working but have fixed income from Child support, Spousal support and SSI from disabled child. I have been offered the opportunity to buy a house where I am moving with a lease to own option. I do have a down payment thanks to my divorce settlement. I am asking for 18-24 months to finance this house while leasing. The house is $91000. What are my chances of financing now vs 12 or 24 months from now contingent upon my keeping my payments current on my credit obligations? Any info or advice would be welcomed.
Automotive Question I have a 98 honda accord transmission problem? I have a 98 Honda Accord 4cyl V-tec Automatic Ex 4 door sedan only 118,000 miles. I love my car and take EXCELLENT care of it, however on my way to work I experienced some technical difficulty, so I took my car around the street to a mechanic and he is telling me that all my cylinoids tested fine, but that my transmission was still having problems because it keeps slipping gears. How did I go from just needing a transmission flush that weekend to needing a whole new transmission? 1.) Should I keep my car and pay the $2300 it would cost to have it reapaired and enjoy my car for a very long time? OR 2.) Should I fix my car as cheap as I can by buying a used tranny somewhere else and then pay for labor (Roughly $1200-$1500) and then sell my car for as much as possible, and then put $$ down towards leasing a new car?? ANYONE HAVE AN OPINION?? because I really don't know what to do I am hella upset I love my car and Hate all my options..
2008 lexus LX 570 v 2008 Caddilac Escalade BOTH FULLY LOADED...? both pretty much end up being the same price. which would you buy or lease or finance or is just a better car to have/own and why?
Which is the better purchase value? 4-year old Honda vs new Hyundai.? Hi, I'm in the market for a car, and I've narrowed it down to two choices & trying to determine which of the following is the best value... (all prices are in Cdn$). In either case I'll be selling my existing car for roughly $5000. Option 1: Lease a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe. 0% for 4 years. Car goes for $29,500 + tax. $5000 from old car towards it. Leaves me with payments of about $310/month for 4 years. I get 24,000km/year (about 15,000 mi/year). 5 year / 100,000km (62,000 mi) warranty. At the end of the 4 years I'd have the option to buy it out for just over $10,000. If I go over the 96,000km / 60,000 miles I pay 10¢/km (16¢/mi). Option 2: Buy a 2003 Honda Pilot with 100,000km (62,000 mi) on it for $14,000. Again, 0% interest, and $5000 from the old car goes towards the cost, reducing the price to $9,000. Which works out to monthly payments of $188. At the end of the 4 years the car is mine. No warranty obviously. I very much appreciate your opinion. Thanks!

Honda Civic Coupe EX vs Scion tC vs Nissan Altima Coupe vs Honda Accord Coupe LX-S? I'm getting a new car and I'm looking for expert opinions / pros+cons of these 2008 cars. The Civic is the most fuel efficient but it's also really generic and common; the tC is the most aesthetically pleasing in my opinion but it has the worst gas mileage; the Altima and the Accord are pretty nice but more expensive. I'm also torn about leasing / buying. I'd rather buy a car, but I am afraid of purchasing a less fuel efficient car that will be worth nothing in a few years when gas prices are too high. Am I overestimating the inevitable increase of gas prices?
Questions about 2008 RAV4, Rogue, CR-V.? Planning to buy either 2008 RAV4, Rogue, or CR-V. Not sure which one, I plan to buy AWD Fully Loaded with Leather, and no Navigation. Which is the best choice for Leasing under 36 or 48 Months, and what is a good price to accept from the dealer for any of the Cars? Thanks. Leasing in Ontario.
I have 2 Hondas. Which one should I sell? I have 2 1995 Hondas. Both are fine running cars. One is a 4dr Civic DX @ 97k purple. The other is an Accord EX @ 92K Tan. I have a 42 mile commute to work one way. I like the Accord the best BUT its a V-6 and with gas @ 3.50 a gallon it kills me to take it anywhere outside town. It runs awesome and is A-1 Shape. The Civic is my work car, its not as nice of a car BUT its cheap to fill up and I only carry liabilty it so its cheap to insure. Its @ about 100k so it needs the timing belt and water pump done and it needs rear brakes. Otherwise its its fine. The accord needs nothing. The Timing belt and water pump were done by the prior owner. I have a friend interested in the Civic but he tells me he can't afford to buy it at this time. I know if I sold the Accord myself I could get back all the money I paid for it(Bought it last October when the lease on my 04 Camry was up). I figure keep the civic till my friend wants it then take the money from both n buy a new car
New Car: Mazda3 or Civic? I'll be purchasing my first new car in about 1-2 months and have narrowed it down to the Mazda3 and the Honda Civic. Due to my extensive amount of car travel (about 20,000 miles per year), I won't be able to lease and will have to buy the car, which I plan on having for about 5-7 years. Due to this, things like reliability are pretty important. Here is how I see the cars right now: Reliability - Both rated well, but I have to give the edge to the Civic, though I have to note that the Mazda can have traction control at a lower price. Enjoyable to Drive - Both nice, but edge goes to the Mazda. When driving my father's Civic I find myself wanting some more oomph. Look/feel (interior) - Mazda. Don't think I like the Civic's 2-tier display. Mazda has more headroom. Look/feel (exterior) - Mazda. Color choices are more exciting. Storage - Civic's trunk is bigger. Basically I like the Mazda a bit more, but worry about reliability vs. the Civic over 100k miles. Suggestions? Experiences?
What is your opinion on the 2006 Dodge Durango? I am test-driving a 2006 Dodge Durango w/46,000 miles. It was a lease turn-in. Have you gotten good service from yours? If not, what kind of problems did you have? I have never had a Dodge before, so I'm not sure about them. I know most people think American-made cars are not as good as foreign, but I have had excellent service from 2 Chevy Cavaliers & my Pontiac TransAm, so I'm not too leery about buying an American-made. I just wanted to know if there were any major problems in general that I should know about. Also, what kind of mileage do you get? It's a V-6. Thanks!
