It's not the rebate program, but it's some new program where if you're low income and you sell your junk car to the junk yard, you will get around 1k-1.5k. My car is a 1996 camry, it's still running, but it's not drivable since all the air bag pop, and the front compartment doesn't look right. If there is no such program, what is the best way to get rid of it for the highest price!

What can I legally do about a car lot selling me a peice of junk? Ok this is what happened ...I went and got a Cadillac from a car lot after 2 days things started going out in the car first the starter, then main computer in the car, then the ignition module, and something else to do with the ignition. I wouldnt have complained but here is the catch...the car lot put a computer thing in the car when i got it so if you dont make your payments it shuts the car down. After paying out 2,000 dollars for all the parts and labor for this stuff i talked to a mechanic who has dealt with this car lot before and said that i wasnt the first person to have this happen to them. He told me that if your car is computerized like mine was then this thing that the car lot put in it can send computer gliches to your car and screw everything up. out of 3 months the car only ran for a week. They FINALLY picked it up today and told me they are going to sell the car and I will have to pay the remainder of the note on the car.. This isnt fair...is it legal by the way i live in illinois the mananger and the guy that sold me the car both promised to change the computer box for me on three different occassions and never did yes i did sign a as is form, it was a used car, but the car wouldnt have had nearly as many problems if it wasnt for their box they put in it

I own a running junk car. It was towed. Can I sign title over to the tow company? I have an old car with a wholesale value of, I'm sure, no more than a few hundred dollars. The car was towed 13 days ago. I don't exactly want to let it sit at the impound yard until it gets sent to a lien sale (this can hurt my credit, yes?), and I certainly don't want to pay the impound fees to get it out. My question is this: Can I go the the tow company and just sign over the title, completely releasing my interest in the vehicle? If I do this, will the impound fees to date still need to be paid by me at some later time? Would the tow company even accept this or are they completely happy waiting to sell the car at a lien sale?

Anyone ever salvage your own junk car out of your garage, and sell the parts yourself? My 95 Camry just died (Transmission shot). I know there are items in that car that are worth $$$. I am thinking I can make more than the local yards will give me (Which is around $150). I can think of a few items off the bat people would want: Stereo Alternator Master Window Switch New Tires Lexus Chrome Rims New Battery And many other odds and ends I can sell on ebay... I have plenty of spare time, I am very handy, and I might be a great way to learn about car repairs (Tearing it down, following the Chilton manuals...) Now, the final question: Say I sell my tires and rims, can a tow truck yank it away with tires and rims? I will have to roll it backwards into my alley fist somehow... Because, I don't want some asshole to buy a car from me extremely cheap only to fix it up for half of the price he paid me and turn around and sell it for more..you know what I mean?? I don't know, it just seems like a scam, I'm probably overreacting.
What to do with this junk car? I have a 87 Skyhawk (true pos) that's barely running on 3 cylinders. Should I take it to a junk yard or try to sell it for scrap? I'm not in a high enough tax bracket to donate and reap benifits that way. We'd like to get as much as possible for it, so we can use whatever we do get for the down payment on something else. How can I sell an antique car? My father has retired his 1982 Pontiac T1000. It is basically still in good condition, but may need an engine. He has about 50,000 miles on it. The roof is rusty and door hinges need changing and it has been sitting in our yard for nearly a year now. He plans to junk it, but I believe that he could sell it to Hollywood or something as an antique. Who would buy a car like that, and for how much? Does anyone know the answer?

procedures on sale of a car to a towing / junk yard? i sold my cars well 4 from my back yard over the weekend to a company i found in the yellow pages saying we pick up and pay for junk cars..........i did this on a sunday.. i signed and gave him the titles and i got 80 dallors for the cars.. the problem is the police said the cars are on my property and remained on my property for over 20 days and i have a lot of misderminors and fines over $5000 worth... and they are lieing ..i have to go to court and i dont have a recepit what should i do ?????

What parts of a car should I remove and sell before scrapping it? I had a gentleman buy my car for $460 and said that he buys cars everyday, takes 10 mins to pull "certain parts" out of the car and junks it and makes double or over double of what he purchased the car for. I would like to start doing the same. What are these "certain parts", how much are they generally worth? How do you make a profit/living buy purchasing cars on craigslist, etc. and scraping them?

Need to sell my car! Please Help!!? My car is junk. 1992 Buick Lesabre with the tranmission out. It has a V6 3.8 liter. I will need some one to tow it. I really need the most money I can get for it but I don't know anything about selling cars. How much should I be able to get from this car w/o screwing someone over on it. So a guy wants to buy it for $200. Which is less than I was expecting. But he'll come and tow it. Should I wait and see if I can get more out of it?
Help! I have no proof that i sold my car to a junk yard now I have to go to court what should I do? About a year ago I sold my car to a junk yard. I was not aware of the process that it took to just throw the car away! I recive help from no one and did this transaction alone.
