How much is an independent car agent supposed to get as commission? I had somebody ask me to help him sell his car recently. I agreed to act as an agent specifically just to help him find somebody who'll end up buying his car. I won't have to be responsible for processing papers and all that. How much should my commission be if my client purchases his car? Do I first prepare an agreement for him to sign before I bring my client over to him? What do I have to include in this agreement besides the agreed commission? How do I go about this? I'm from the Philippines and the rules might be different in other countries but who knows it might be the same as well or maybe I can get some ideas from you. Thanks, I really really need to know about this ASAP.
We want to sell our car, how much would be the price? so its a TOYOTA RAV4 2002 model, it was pre-loved when we bought it 3 years ago. and almost brand new since it wasn't that used by the former owner, we bought it for about 600,000 Philippine peso ($13,000 USD) I just wanna know how much would it be if we sell it? any marketing strategies? and explanation why should we sell it in that certain price? thank you in advance :) btw we wanna sell it because we are planning to go outside the Philippines and no one will gonna use this car anymore, just in case u wanna know :) the car's in good condition, the seat cover is brand new, we bought it for about $150.
why people in the Philippines assumed that? if your coming from US you're automatically rich? My mom got into a car accident and lost her leg so im going to Philippines to visit her esp that shes depressed due to the accident. Now my friends found out and they all sent me messages asking for money and stuff. I keep telling them that I sold my old car to buy ticket and my pocket money for the Phil. They just simply dont believe and its getting on my nerves.. Grrrr,,,
Buying my FIRST CAR, can you give me option or help me make my choice? First off, I live in the Philippines. I'm a graduating soon and I'm about to buy my first car. I need help and opinion in making choices to buying my first car. What I want in a car: 1. Stylish 2. Above average performance (While I'm young, I want to experience driving a car that has thrill in it) 3. Manual or at least semi auto 4. it's better if it's not too common (which makes it hard for me to choose brand new models) 5. It has to look descent enough for my future work which nullify any ideas of customizing it into a ricer. 6. Fuel economy (this scratches out any chances of engines above 2.5 displacement) 7. Low mileage (if the car is 2nd hand) Here in the Philippines, the current options for my price range in buying a brand new car model limits me to these options: (all current models) 1. Honda Civic 2. Ford Focus 3. Lancer EX and other similar cars in the same size and price range. What's stopping me from choosing from these cars is that everybody owns them. They're three of the most common private owned cars in the Philippines and that's a big problem for me. However there's this trend in the Philippines of importing used cars from Japan and selling them here. I've seen a lot of car lots. Such as http://jmicarsclarkpampanga.com and http://www.mateentokyo.com most of the cars really do appeal to me and since they're mostly sporty type cars, they can perhaps give me the thrill of driving. An issue however for this option is that: 1. They're USED so, they'll have some if not, alot of mileage in them 2. Maintenance. I'm not sure but would it be much more expensive? (especially for pre or early 2000's models?) 3. I'm not a total grease monkey so can you give me help when inspecting a car, especially engine and performance wise? I've made some initial choices. For buying a Brand new car, I chose the FORD FOCUS 2.0 TDCi http://www.ford.com.ph/servlet/ContentServer?cid=1248860884936&pagename=FPH%2Fcontroller&c=DFYPage&site=FPH For buying a 2nd hand car, I'm choosing over a 1992 Toyota MR2 (racing set-up) http://jmicarsclarkpampanga.com/cars.php?page=1992-TOYOTA-MR-2 or a 2001 Toyota Celica http://www.mateentokyo.com/viewcar.php?carid=1595 My dad just bought a 1994 SLK 230 for 800k pesos (around $17,800) and I think it's a really good buy since it had legit Brabus custom rims, the car overall was in good condition and it had low mileage. I'm looking at a budget of 650k pesos or $14,500 if I were to buy a second hand vehicle. Can you give me suggestions, pointers and opinions that would be helpful for my situation? Thanks!
im planning to buy a used 97 honda accord. is it fuel efficient? i only knew some basic things about cars. im here in the philippines. im choosing between 95 corolla. 1.6 and this accord 2.0 any feedback would be greatly appreciated. or if you know someone who sells cars. my budget would be around Php 160k. email to jeremaysilvestre@yahoo.com thanks, Jay

Need Help Re: Sale of Diplomatic/Tax-Exempt Vehicle? Hey guys, I'm hoping you could help me with my problem. Here are the details. I am an employee of the Department of Foreign Affairs and I was assigned to work as a diplomat in a Philippine Embassy in the Middle East last 1999. Last year, I bought a car. I was recalled this year and had to return to the Philippines. I brought my car with me knowing the fact that Filipino diplomats have the privilege under the law of being exempt from tax payment for bringing in vehicles from outside the country. Now, I would like to sell my vehicle. However, I was informed that I cannot do so within three years from arrival of the vehicle in the Philippines. Moreover, I was also told that If I sell my car to a private citizen, such private citizen will have to pay the tax (which was exempt) in addition to our agreed price. Therefore, this means that I need to sell my car way lower than its actual price so that our agreed price + tax payment will be equal to its actual market value/price, otherwise no one will be interested in buying my car. SO... a) Can I sell my vehicle to private citizens? b) Do I have to pay the tax (which was exempt) if I sell my vehicle? If yes, how much? Additional significant info will be appreciated! Thanks and Merry Christmas!
Will you likely to die of old age or crime related incident if you happen to be in the Philippines? I think my question is simple enough to understand. With the present situation we have in the Philippines, this question do not relate to me since I am still outside the Philippines but officially a Filipino. In your personal opinion, if one happens to live in the Philippines at the moment. Will she or he reach the ripe age of say 80 or die young at 25? Just yesterday on the TV patrol news report another BPI bank were held up by a group of bank robbers. Wala pa dun ang mga notorious carjackers. It seems that good versus evil are completely happening in the Philippines. But the sad part is evil forces are gaining grounds or completely over powering the good people of the Philippines. Another example is the story of a therapeutic guy who is working in a massage parlor in Ermita Manila as expose in the regular program of xxx at ABS-CBN. The guy just is buying a stick of cigarette outside the clinic that he happen to just mere stare or look at one of the guys outside the clinic when started to get back to the clinic the 3 guys started to call him and beating the s-h-i-t out of him without any provocation. Because these guys are drunk? Another example, just because the employer didn't check the police background of her newly hired driver, she and another family member end up dead inside a freezer in Laguna. We have witness a long line of massacre stories from the Vizconde to the Taal massacre and until now we still have massacre stories on the daily basis. Just the stories of Evangelista and Lozano who are merely selling cars end up dead and worst burn beyond recognition. The Ruby Rose Barrameda case, not only she was killed but place inside a steel drum & cemented the whole drum and the drum was place inside another steel cabinet and was throw in the Pasig river. Who would find the dead body unless the person is one of the guys who done it. These are just a few gruesome examples I had in mind. Would you die of a ripe old age of 80 in the Philippines? Really? Why do you think that. Thanks for your opinions.
Like Ferraris? Imagine you are tooling around town in your Ferrari. It’s your third car. You mostly take it out for Sunday drives. You are crossing some train tracks and the car dies. A train is coming towards you. You notice a switch that will send the train down another track. But seated on the other track is a house filled with starving African refugees. If you throw the switch the refugees will all, die. What do you do?? I would hope you let the train hit the car. But here is the rub. By choosing to buy the car and not using the money to make the world a better place are you not in effect killing the refugees anyway? I have sent this story to hundreds of people. The response is almost always the same. Actually the most common response is nothing. But those who do respond usually say I work hard, etcetera, etcetera, I deserve, etcetera, etcetera. But if you own 3 Ferraris, or even one for that matter, it is as much about luck as it is about deserving. If your are Shaquille Oneal and you were lucky enough to get the genes you got you are just as lucky as the child born to poverty and oppression is unlucky. There is no harder work NO harder life than imposed poverty and NO ONE deserves that life. Let’s look at it a different way. How much does that 5th Hummer increase the quality of your life? How much more happy are you with that car than you would be with out it? The difference is marginal at best. You probably would not even notice the difference if it was not in the garage. But you do have a 5 car garage and have to keep it filled. How much does it cost to fix a hair lip on a poor little girl in Bolivia, maybe $ 5,000? So instead of spending $ 50,000 on that car and making your life a tiny bit better, why not make 10 lives infinitely better? I was having lunch with a friend and before we went to lunch we popped into a jewelry store. She has a friend who makes jewelry and she wanted to show it to me. We were looking and I recognized a belt that my friend wears. I asked how much for the belt. The salesperson said $ 5,000. My friend has a $ 5,000 belt!!! So while we were having lunch I asked my friend how much different her life would be if she did not have the belt. “Not much” she said. Then I asked. “If your granddaughter had a hair lip and you had to sell the belt to fix it what would you do.” She said, “Well I would just take the money out of the bank.” I pointed out that this was all fantasy/hypothesis and that we have to assume that selling the belt is the only way to repair her grand daughter’s hair lip. Then she said. “Of course I would sell the belt, she’s family.” I said. “We are all family. All of us are one family, one human race. It is about compassion knowing that when you buy something extravagant and wasteful you are stealing bread from a starving child. I know it’s hard because we live in an extravagant country. But you have to know this grand and lavish American way of life is one of the main reasons why the rest of the world hates us. And, why they hijack airplanes and crash them into our sky scrapers.” She said, “Well what am I supposed to do?” I wrote this down on a piece of paper and handed it to her. “Live simply so that others may simply live.” A couple of days later I was thinking about a singer I saw once. His name was T-Buck. He was talking between songs and he said. “You know we worship all kinds of things, money, Jesus, cars, Buddha, Allah, but more than any of those things we should worship each other.” I recently went to the Philippines. It’s amazing what the internet can do. I googled Philippine surf camp, and a week later I was stepping off of a twin propeller, 12 seat airplane onto tiny island in the middle of nowhere, PI. This island is so remote that they can not get many types of heavy machinery there, so they can not make gravel with machines. Instead they use people. The human gravel makers squat on their heels, with hammers and chisels, and break up rocks. They do it 8 hours a day, 6 days a week, with no safety glasses, no protection on their hands, for 25 cents an hour, $ 2 a day. Even though I was half way around the world, on the very cusp of civilization The Catholic Church was everywhere. One evening began with the sound of church bells ringing, and a bit later I could hear the choir too. Then a few hours later a small stream of people trickled into the neighbors place, maybe 20 in all. They ate dinner and then began to sing and pray. As they were singing I was thinking about T-Buck. It suddenly occurred to me that more than anything the world needs “The Church of Each Other”. So I say that if you have 100 pairs of shoes, $ 10,000 watches, 5 ferraris, etc., you are worshiping yourself, and you lack a certain type of compassion or maybe you just are just conveniently not paying attention. I am not advocating life in a tent. I am just saying to make conscious choices, and don’t be frivolous, and wasteful. You can still have a nice house, a nice car, etc., but just THINK. That’s all just THINK, and be aware that we all are one. And whatever you take for yourself that is more than you what NEED you are taking from someone else. I would like to close with a quote from Bill Maher. Women think about diamonds the way men think about sex, the way leeches think about blood," Bill Maher once remarked. "But diamonds have a lot of blood on them, even without the terrorist connection, because they can not be traced diamonds are used by terrorists, to launder and move money. Diamond mines in Africa are controlled by rebel armies, and the rebel armies control the territory and make the villagers mine the diamonds. The villagers are basically slaves and the Rebels control them through terror, through such lovely things as cutting off the arms of the little children - something you never see in the De Beers commercials. An amputation is forever. Now, I told this to a woman recently, who was only about the nicest person I've ever met - but she is a woman. And I told her about Africa and the armies and the rebels and the terror and the cutting off the arms of the little children. And she looked up at me with a little sad face and said, Both arms? Remember Beannie Babies??? Diamonds are pretty much the same thing. I used to be in the jewelry business. Jewelry is what is called a created market. The market is driven by perceived value. What that means is that really good marketers make really good ads and they make us gullible consumers think that diamonds, beanie babies, whatever are rare, valuable, and worth a lot of money. Diamonds are a dime a dozen, it just so happens that most of them come from Africa and not that many people mine them. SO, the diamond miners got together about 100 years ago and decided to limit the supply and they did a really great job of marketing. They used to pay MILLIONS of dollars to make movies with big movie stars just so they could have a scene where the Brad Pitt of the day would ask the Angelina Jollie of the day to marry her and he would give her a diamond ring. So now in today’s times Diamonds are Forever, Every Kiss Begins with Kay, and on and on. They do a GREAT JOB!!!! Those are great ads!!!! Have you noticed that the folks who run the Diamonds are Forever ads are the De Beers family. Those are the folks who mine the diamonds. They don’t care where you buy the diamonds, just as long as you buy them. So anyone reading this ever pay over $ 50 for a beanie baby??? Feel kind of silly? Maybe in a 100 years or so people will look back and say, those silly 20th century people used to pay large amount of money for bags of beans and shiny rocks. And by the way those diamond miners, the De Beers and their friends are the same folks who brought us one hundred years of Apartheid and complete racial domination in South Africa. 100 years of white folks KICKING BLACK ASS!!! I am serious, in the last 20 years literally Millions of people in countries like the Congo have been killed in power struggles over diamonds. Anyway that’s about it Looking forward to the responses!!!
How to be a better husband to a Filipina spouse? Looking for a response from a Filipina or Flipina and caucasin couple regarding some of these issue or a reference book to better understand dealing with issues with a filipina wife. I love my wife and I have been honest with her regarding some changes when we left Germany to return to the US. I was very proactive in preparing to bring her back to the US and her son from the Philippines. My wife has done great things for her and her family. This is more than I would have ever done. She is a great person and hard working I have had issues regarding my Frankiness/honesty which sometimes is to hard for wife to handle. Its been regarding money, planning for the future and her relationship with her son and his issues. How to deal with financial issues regarding saving for the future and current expenses (have used fact based, visual expenditures to explain) I have not succeded. Future financial issues for her son that he will need and want (I helped but does not understand things like he would want a car, driving school and other things) I planned for it but she needed to prepare as well. Understand this family is first not the family in the Philipines (She has paid for things over 7 years still which she has paid for a home) I have no problem but with in reason. I feel no more than $100 a month is plenty!) Standing up to her teenage son who has really upset me regarding his behavior to his mother, school and lack financial responsibilities. I am selling the his car because he has not been appreciative nor cooperative and bought another car with no money. Please note we have a loving relationship but I would like a mentor/advisor to better understand her and communicate better so it does not upset her and she understands. She seems very hard headed! I feel that I have done my part and I told her we would have to share in some household expenses which are very low for her. They total less than a car payment ($299) because they are bills that need to be paid. I bought her son a car to get him started in order for him to develop financial responsibility. My job helped in more free school grants for more education for my wife and I gave her money to pay her bills before leaving Germany. So I have been doing my responsibilities. I want to communicate better! I would like to know how to do this better.

My parents don't give me allowance? Im a 2nd year student in the Philippines, and my folks don't give me allowance Reasons why not: 1.I graduated a valedictorian in elementary (accelerated a year) 2.My father is the general manager of the water district of the city 3.My mother is a high-ranked office worker in our school 4.I have always been the 1st honor every year of my life 5.I am behave since i was 5 in school and at home (not normal) 6.We have an above-average car, flat-screen TV, a maid Even the money given to me by my relatives and friends on my B-day they get to decide what to do with it NO MONEY is spent in tuition during my high school year because valedictorians recieve a 100% tuition deduction (P18,000.00) IN our place Its important to some to have allowance the 1st graders have P20.00 allowances my 3rd phone was the oldest model of Nokia my classmate's parents have low earning jobs still he can ask anytime Ways I earn: 1. Running errands for my rich classmate (weird way to earn) 2. I take the part of the change when our maid is asked to buy something 3. Selling cellphone load (still mother took the money) we have our own house I wore my 7 year old clothes until now but at home only
why are priests against contraceptives? here in the philippines the government wants to run a project that will teach sex education and stuff about preventing HIV to schools etc. why? because our country is overpopulated... if you go to slum areas, because the parents are busy scavenging in the garbage dumps for stuff to sell at junk shops for money, you will see their little kids un-supervised running around the streets even on roads playing, sometimes when the traffic is real heavy the little kids (even 3 year olds) start knocking on car doors begging for money... sometimes i see street kids doing drugs... overpopulation is leading to people starving to death, getting sick from all sorts of diseases and to crime... one time i saw a little girl on the streets without clothes on, her private parts look infected or something, i hope it is just because of infection and not because someone did something horrible... the poor people cant even buy clothes for their kids now because of over population, and they cant supervise all of their dozen kids then the church people comes along and wants to make contraceptives even harder to get, they want everyone to have a prescription from a doctor before they get contraceptives... the church always wants to get contraceptives banned because they think people using those are "immoral".. since they know they cant win, they resorted to the prescription thing... i just don't see the logic behind it, WHICH IS MORE IMMORAL?: 1. happy and healthy people using contraceptives to avoid getting HIV and to prevent over population which would lead to poverty etc so that the country will be free of problems OR 2. people who are not using contraceptives, giving birth to dozens of children, spreading HIV all over the place and leaving children to die because of poverty and starvation? which would lead to crime, violence and chaos... and eventually, maybe even dead bodies all over the place seriously? cant those priests see the problem here if they decide to ban contraceptives or make it harder to get them? even just right now, people aren't using contraceptives and then get pregnant during their early teens, get HIV and all other problems... so they are ok with the problem getting worse, much worse just because using contraceptives are "immoral" to them? WTH!? people here need proper sex education, teach them family planning and HIV prevention and everything... what the hell is wrong with them priests? people here try to talk to them about the situation but they dont reply about the over population and HIV problems etc, all they say is "contraceptives are immoral" WTH!?? why are the religionists here so naive and narrow minded? they want the problems to escalate? don't they have common sense at all? what is their real agenda behind that anti-contraceptives thing? can someone explain to me what those priests are doing and why they think they are doing a good thing? @ Arch Paladin: i did not say those because i don't need to... people WILL NOT listen if you tell them to not have sex... THEY WILL HAVE SEX, you cant stop them, specially poor people who live in the streets, they don't have anything else to do except beg for food, scavenge for stuff and have sex... why are you so stupid? the problem is already happening, if you just try to tell them not to have sex, nothing will happen... stop being so stupid... @ Illuminator you are wrong.... it seems like you didn't even read all of my sentences... you even skipped the street children part? poor people have sex all day because it is the only thing they can do, no TV, no phones, no nothing... then they leave their dozen children un supervised, those little street children sleeping on the streets with other street children will tend to be tempted to have sex when they get just a little bit older... @ Illuminator overpopulation is a myth? WTH!?? if i see dozens and dozens of dirty kids on the street are they a figment of my imagination? and wealth distribution does not have anything to do with over population, it has something to do with poverty but not over population... i didn't even mention pills you know... and pills can be bought here without a prescription... and so you agree with the contraceptive bans? sure, if you remove contraceptives completely, overpopulation will sky rocket, then all you can say is "overpopulation is a myth" WTH!?? @ Mathew because you replied to me in a good way and you gave a good explanation to the religious side i will cut you some slack and also answer as nicely as i can... the only flaw i see to what you are saying is the same thing i was trying to tell, people who live on the streets will not stop having sex, the same with out of school youths sleeping on the streets altogether (girls with boys)... eventually they will get tempted... some of them who do use condoms will spare them some problems so they do need condoms, you cant ban those... people need it

When life changes completely? What do you do when your life makes a 360 degree turn? Different house, different city, different country? Different everything! When I was 22 I couldn’t wait to get out of town, I couldn’t wait to get out of the house in which I grew up in and which I kept coming back to whenever things didn’t work out in my life. I never thought I would feel the way I am feeling now. Regret. And so much of it. Now that my parents are selling the house for a fortune and that they wouldn’t even spend a penny of it at least to buy another place in the same town, Are now moving out of Australia and helplessly even perhaps desperately selling everything every object. The only motivation I know from their decision is the fact that they want to retire in the Philippines and get an even bigger house. Now I don’t know what to do? What kind of insane idea would drive my folks completely out of a country that is cleaner, richer and better? So I still want to work in Australia in Queensland, but now I have to start all over again, my folks won't support me at all. I don't know how I'm going to save up for a house in the near future. I am 27 years old, and single so I don't know if it'll ever be possible. I have worked in china for over 2 years and got nothing out of it. People say that china is cheap, well think again, think about how unstable teaching career is. Now I don't have a car, I don't have any assets, I don't have a home to go back to in Oz I feel like I am going insane! Now I am not only Homesick and got nothing to come back to in Australia, but I got no money either. Is it too late for me?? Have i completely failed in life? cause that's how i feel right now. I feel like slitting my throat.
