3. I'm an advertising professional and I can tell you that they ARE not only STUPID, but a waste of money as well. The key to good advertising is to ask yourself, "After seeing that commercial, am I now more likely to buy the product/service that was advertised?" If not, crap commercial. The first goal of advertising is to SELL, not make dumb jokes about cavemen. The ad agency is laughing all the way to the bank... and the misinformed executives at Geico are flush, Flush, FLUSHING countless dollars down the toilet.
4. All Commercials are stupid.
5. They have achieved their goal. people are talking about them and making others try to "catch" them on TV. Even "stupid" commercial gets the company name on peoples minds. Note: The 2 decade "ad man" obviously hasn't seen the "new" commercials with the Clampetts or the Flintstones and is not aware of the Cavemens new TV show that came from the commercials.
