Does Geico have the cheapest car insurance?

I've always had Geico and it was the cheapest a couple years ago. Is that still the case?

  1. In my case they have never been the cheapest they have alot of hidden charges. In in nj area they are the worst when it comes to claim s and support
  2. It will depend on the area you live in. I live in NJ and I have found it to be the cheapest out of all the big name companies. But that doesn't mean that it will be the cheapest for you.
  3. Not necessarily, remember that auto insurance premium is based on your information, (age, gender, status, driving record, your car and coverage). Let's assume you and I drive the same car, that doenst mean we're both going to pay the same amount. Geico might be the cheapest in your case, but a different company might be the best one for me. My advice, called different places, make sure you give them all your current information. If you have any tickets, tell them, otherwise, you'll get a cheap quote over the phone, but once you get there, they'll look at your driving record and then everything might change. If you're not sure what's on your record, get a copy from the dmv, (in CA, it only costs you 5.00). Also, when you call, ask them what their broker fee is, you'll find out some agencies have a 200.00 broker fee, you, you can deffinately ask them to lower it to 50.00 or less, if they dont, move on to the next agency. Also, ask about any future costs, like, will they charge you to renew your policy after 1 year? Will they charge you to process a change in the future? and so on. Overall, just make sure you shop around, I heard Mercury has good rates, but again, it depends on your information. Hope this helps.
  4. Only if you are considered a high risk driver meaning you're young, you have a bad driving record, bad credit, or a lot of claims. Geico is a high risk company. If none of these things describe you I'd suggest Progressive or Allstate.
  5. I can't said for your area but on mine Metro area PA I paid $135 a month for a 2007 Sonata and a $2008 Camry both with full cover. You can get a geico review on http://www.aziali.com
  6. Depending on car I switched between AllState and Statefarm. Try one of those sites where you can compare several insurance companies at once. Downside is, they ask you a lot of questions and want your phone number and address, but it is worth "shopping around" - saved me a few hundred $$$s each time I did it. A lot of times - if you are a home owner - you can combine insurances with one company and they give you a discount. http://www.gmigllc.com/insurance/11972.php
  7. Car Insurance can differ from state to state, city to city even make & model of car. I would suggest that you check out an online auto insurance website such as http://www.CompareCarQuote.com where you can receive multiple Free quotes and compare to find best offer. It usually only takes a few minutes to apply and then the insurance companies compete for your business. If you still can't find a good deal throught these sites then you can take the information regaring prices & policies etc tha you have learnt from the free quote sites and then go visit a local insurance broker who may be able to find you a good deal. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
  8. Depends on the area and on some factors. But there are lots of companies out there that offers great deals on car insurance. Hope this could help: http://www.autoinsuranceselect.com/
