Do you really save a lot of money by switching to GEICO car insurance?

- I dont pay my own car insurance. Im 15. I have progressive.
- My daughter's fiance sure did,,,he has a DWI, and is still paying a huge difference than I did with USAA even...
- it's illegal for false advertisement in commercial in the united states. so i suppose you do save money from switching to geico.
- Yes you do but Florida No fault is cheapest.
- Not really but they do give you a free car air freshener that smells like an old dirty caveman.
- Duh, it's so easy a caveman can do it.
- dont know, but i know i am thouroughly annoyed by the stupid commercials!
- They say that you do on the commercials, so it MUST be true...
- no!! and their commercials are stupid.
- I have Geico but unfortunately I live in the state with the highest rates in the nation and they are all the same.
- I don't know because when I tried to look into changing one time, they asked if I had EVER had a ticket and when I told them I had a speeding ticket YEARS ago, their response to me was that if a person even had JUST 1 ticket in their lifetime, they were NOT QUALIFIED. edit: after looking at some other answers--I am thinking that hopefully Geico has changed their policy and I will now try again. I called them in 1988 when I had just returned from Germany. It upset me as I had been driving for about 18 years and had only 1 ticket. :o(
- In my particular case they were NOT cheaper than my current insurance they were about $400 per year more. I am with esurance.com
- Yes, but don't have a claim!! My brother switched to them until his car got hit and they didn't want to pay. So, our whole family is with either Progressive or State Farm.
- i'll let you know in 15 minutes or less, unless that damned lizard won't quit jacking his jaws and keeps me on the line!
