- they will probaly total it out
- I think that Geico or any insurance for that matter will total it out. that means that the cost to repair the vehicle is more than the vehicle is worth. It is possible to repair it, but there may be problems like keeping tires on it (with no uneven wear) for any length of time. Also the cost of repairs might exceed the vehicles worth (value)
- Disclaimer: I am not an insurance appraiser, I am a tow truck driver, but based on my experience, you have a totaled vehicle there. Only the insurance appraiser can say that for sure of course.
- yes .. but if the repair amount is over a certain percentage of the car value . the car will be deemed totaled even though the car could be fixed . you will not know till the insurance adjuster has did a repair estimate i guess it will be about $5800 from what i can tell in that picture .but there is always damage you can't see till you get it torn down.
- It just depends. First off, what is the value of the car.. and how much will they determine it will cost to fix it? If you want to keep the car, and they deem it too be more costly to repair it than to total it out, you can always have your own repair estimate done. If it's cheaper than Geico's estimate AND it shows it to be less costly than 70-80% of the vehicle's value, you can petition them to repair it. Not all damage is deemed "repairable" to Geico however. For example, last year I wrecked my F150, and bent the frame. Although I was able to produce a repair estimate for considerably less than the value of the truck, there was "slight" damage to the frame, so that was an automatic total loss. It turns out that Geico is not willing to repair a vehicle with damage to the frame. However, if you want Geico to total it out, and they estimate it to be repairable... than you're pretty much SOL. They won't do it.
- Thats looks like a total loss, looks to be a older model 240sx doesn't take much to make that car a total anyways. Didn't notice you have the steering wheel on the right side, did you have the vehicle imported?
- definately totalled. What you have there is a cheap car in the first place.. plus its also older.... it wouldnt take much damage to make it totalled and your front end is pretty jacked.
- The car is repairable, however, ANY car can be repaired. The real question is how much is it worth? State law mandates that a vehicle must be declared a 'total loss' if repair costs exceed the value or a set percentage of the value of the vehicle.
- My car looked worse. It was repaired. It depends which is cheaper for the insurance company. I was sure mine was going to be totalled out and they repaired it. I am not a claims adjuster.
