does progressive car insurance, lower their rates for car insurance for people who turn 25?

  1. I am not 100% sure of progressive. But all insurance companies use statistics, and the stats prove that driver 25 & up are less risky or mature enough. I know liberty mutual lowers it, my sisters policy went down $400 after she turned 25. Good Luck!
  2. When you turn 25 you are consider a better risk with most companies. Most standard companies lower rates as much as 40% because you are considered more settled down and less likely to cost them as much money. Good Luck.
  3. They didn't for me, but I had 3 wrecks on my record by the time I turned 20. Not all my fault. It's not just age they look at, it's also your experience. If you have had no claims of ANY kind and turn 25, they should. I would recommend at least once a year shopping around anyways to see if there is a better deal. Progressive is great and all, but I can shave about $200 - $300 off per year by changing (if I had the money to).
  4. Progressive has the most complicated rating matrix of any carrier. You are NOT going to see a significant rate difference - it's graduated, from 18 to 30 with Progressive - assuming you're talking about a personal lines policy. With commercial policies, there's a 25% surcharge if any drivers are under 25. For personal policies and young drivers, Progressive more heavily rates credit score and driving record, than actual age.
