How did progressive Insurance handle your hit and run case?

Or do you know someone who was involved in a hit and run accident and had progressive insurance? Do you think that police or the insurance company would try to find the jerk that bump into my car? What are the chances they would catch someone with the license place number, the type and color of the vehicle, but not the state in which the license was issued or the make and modle of the vehicle? What are the chances that my insurance rate would go up because of the hit and run, if I have been a great driver since I started driving (three and a half years ago)

1. depending on the state you are in, it would be handle differently.... for example... FLORIDA is a no fault state, meaning if someone hit you and you do not know who, then your insurance company (progressive in this case) would then have to pay to repair your vehicle...
