Are insurance rates high for classic cars?

Public Comments

  1. Extremely
  2. Yes.
  3. nO, THEY HAPPEN TO BE VERY LOW.
  4. Not really. You can get reasonable insurance for a collector car, because it will come with a lot of restrictions, such as: 1) Limited mileage per year 2) Driving to and from car shows and occasional "cruising" only 3) No "running errands" 4) etc.
  5. Actually, it kinda depends on a few things... engine size, miles driven, the condition of the car, and of course your age, and the number of accidents and tickets you've had. shop around most definately, but unfortunately classic cars do tend to be higher for reasons of safety.
  6. Yes, and it depends on the color and the age of the insurer.
  7. No, What is high on price is if you add towing to your coverages.
  8. WAY up there, unless you are ONLY storing it.
  9. yes, they are overpriced and hard to find replacement parts for. don't forget, in most cases, if you buy a $3000 car and put $5000 into it, it's still worth $3000.
  10. nno cuz they r old
  11. Run into one, that will give you an answer..
  12. Usually, depending on the terms.
  13. Yes, because your insurance rate is based on the year of the car, Say, you have a 1963 Chevy SS restored to the tune of 20k. Your car gets totaled in an accident. The insurance will just pay the blue book value regardless to how much you has invested. In order to recover your investment you must pay a higher premium in order to cover all the extras in your vehicle.
  14. Nope I have full coverage on my 1966 Dodge and pay less that $100 for six months.
  15. You can definitely get cheap ins for your classic car but they put a lot of restrictions on it as mentioned above.
