Do you have Liberty Mutual car insurance ?
Did you know that no matter how new your vehicle is if you go over 99,000 miles they will only pay for used parts on your claim? If they can't get used parts they will pay only for the cheapest brand. We pay for the policy that covers everything and they never told us they only pay for used parts.. Anyone know of a good insurance company for Massachusetts?

- Yes, I have Liberty Mutual. Welcome to the wonderful world of capitalism. As the economy tanks, things only get better. They're not the only company who does this, BTW.
- Most companies use after market and/or used parts after the car is 3 yrs old so I think Liberty Mutual is generous only doing it after 99,000 miles. 99,000 miles is a well used car. Putting new parts on the vehicle is actually a betterment which no company pays. They only pay to put you in the same position you were before the accident & if the part that needs replacing has 99,000 miles on it, then you get a used part or a new after market part. My car is 7 yrs old and only has 88,000 miles & I am SURE if I had an accident, my company would only use used or after market parts... BTW, after market parts have to meet the same safety standards as manufacturer parts.
- natalie a, I recommend you find a local auto insurance agent to assist you. Since I live in Arkansas I can't suggest an agent in Massachusetts, but here is an website that can help you. http://www.multipleautoinsurancequotes.com/Massachusetts-Car-Insurance-Quotes.html
- No, I don't have Liberty Mutual. But check your policy, with my policy there is an "Original Parts" order on my newer car. So if it is damaged, they will get new parts from the factory. Then if only no new parts are available (not produced anymore) they will get aftermarket parts. Some autos this may cost a little bit more, but it varies with year, make, model. Also, a good resource is... http://www.knowledged.info/go.php?link=insurance Best of luck to you.
