  1. probably not if you don't want to die in it!
  2. The best thing to do is start small, change the things that do not cost much (Lights, mats etc) and work your way up to the large purchases. There are lots of maxed out cars in scrap yards and you need to find where your local scrap yard is and get used to dropping in there every now and again. Check out the classified adds in the back of the max power etc magazines and keep and eye open for bargains on eBay.
  3. easily......most of the times it costs a LARGE fortune!!!!!!!!!!
  4. try not to do lots of small things and make it look silly.I read a comment once that sumed it up.It was about an over the top modified car the comment was "it looks like it ram raided Halfords and saw what stuck" So best to try to do the most eye catching jobs ie wheels ebay pick some cheap alloys up or in atm is painting your own ie black or white. Dont put an induction kit on an na engine waste of time and money. An kn or apexi panel filter in your stock box will work just as good and even better add a small 3" air feed to the box for that extra air. Bodykits are cheap if you look around .try search engines ebay and forums ie ones for your car model and ask on there. Most traders advertise on there also and often have group buys.
  5. You can get skirt kits rather than full body kits, these are just parts that fit to the bottom of your bumpers to give the car a modified look. There are thousands of alloy wheel choices out there, starting from as little as 300 quid. Sony make some good head units for relativley low price, last time i checked argos had a set of 2 6x9s and a sony X-plod head unit for 80 quid! Bucket seats are expensive for good ones. Don't go for lexus lights, they've had they're day although i think the carbon effect ones are nicer than the usual ones. As for the engine you are quite limited, an induction kit/air filter and maybe a new tailpipe would probably be the most you could do on a tight budget. Another thing to do is fit lowering springs, this way you keep the original shocks and have lower/harder springs. If you fit alloys these are essential so you car won't look like a 4x4. Fitting these springs will help acceleration/braking because less power is absorbed by the suspension and obviously cornering will be improved. At the end of the day you should think which part of it you want to spend the most on, ie, do you want a huge sound system or more power/speed or do you want a show car with flash paint and bodywork. Also most modified cars will have been finished over a period of time to spread out the cost.
  6. well it depends what your budget is if you have enough you can by one thing every two or three months or put money in the bank untill youve reached your budget and get everything at once
  7. everything costs money...no cheep option....if you are a new driver think about you insurance....as with most polices if you change anything on the car from standard you have to inform them....for as little as changing the colour of a light lense....to bumpers ect...you can shop around to get things but find out about the cost before you do it....or you will find you insurance is not valid....
