Does a 4AG engine consume a lot of fuel?

I bought a perodua kembara made in malaysia recently. i was thinking of changing the standard engine to a toyota 4AG engine. Will the engine fit into my car? i've heard someone was able to do so but haven't actually seen one. Does the toyota 4AG engine consume a lot of fuel?

1. The Toyota does not use alot of fuel but is not compatable to a Perodua.
2. My experience was the 4AGE was a great engine; good power and great fuel economy. That was in stock Toyotas.
