Would it be better to buy a cheap new car or a used luxery car?

I'm planning on getting a car in the next year for myself. However do you think its be better to get a new cheap car such as Hyundai Accent or a 2001 Jaguar "S" in prestine condition? Cars come out to the same price in the end. Thanks,

  1. ummm i would get a jaguar if u got the chance! DUH!
  2. Definately the used luxary car. If its in prestine condition, than its almost just like new. So whats the difference? QUALITY FOR A LESSER PRICE!
  3. You should go for the Jaguar unless you're close to retirement!
  4. Get the new car!!! Why buy someone elses troubles?
  5. I would buy a new car. It has a warranty on in, and the Jag will cost more to run, upkeep and pay insurance on. But then again I drive a mini-van. So I may not be the best choice for an answer!
  6. I would have to say you need to base your choice on how much your insurance will be. I'm guessing your a younger driver and your insurance is going to be quit high, until you turn 25; at least that's how it is in New York State. My suggestion would be to find a car that is cheap and seen buy your insurance company as safe, trust me it will save you money in the long run.
  7. i only buy either brand new cars or near wrecks if they're new then maintenance costs are small as the warranty covers most of it if its a wreck when it dies i scrap it either way i go for low maintenance costs
  8. I wouldn't buy an Accent, but I would want to find out the cost of parts and labor for the Jag. and don't forget the pre-purchase inspection.
  9. A new car would be a better choice as no one will have used it before u... Who knows about the history of the Jaguar... True a Jaguar is good for showing off & is more powerful but it will be expensive to maintain & run... Plus being an older model, u will have small problems surfacing now & then...S type is not a good luxury choice... The Accent is cheaper, more reliablr & economical!! It is yuor money well spent on the Accent!!!
  10. Well it depends on what car you get
  11. it is always advisable to go for a brand new car. b'cos you never know how a used car was treated. Hyundai Accent is not a bad car. buying a new car is like married to a girl who's never been married before. breaking in to a new engine is very important how you do it, you need to use the throttle gently during the first 3 to 5 thousand miles for a longer life. it looks like that the cars come out to the same price in the end but what about the longevity? my suggestion is to go for a new car.
  12. A new car. I wouldn't want to take a chance that the Jaguar had problems. I would have to get a back ground check on it first.
  13. Neither !!! The jag is gonna start costing BIG bucks in the service dept soon, and the Accent is a heap of junk (personal opinion) (ex car dealer, cant help it) Spend sensible money on a modern (less than 3 yrs old) diesle, with sub 40K on the clock, and you will not regret it. Get something with 110HP and youll be surprised how nippy they are, and your bank account will thank you. SHould be looking at 50-60mpg. Spend the money you save on other things that enhance your life. :)
  14. Do both; get a Civic EX Automatic. You will be glad you did.
