Wheres the best place to get a good deal on a new or used car. Got about 10K to spend?

Hi guys. Its time to update my motor. Sold my other one privately for 5K and want to spend about another 5K to get myself a nice little motor. Any good quality reliable car will do for me, but with some many different dealers around, wheres the best place to get a genuine good deal? Should I consider private?

1. I'm not sure there is a "best" place to find a good used car. You will have to do some shopping around at consignment lots, used car dealers, look at local newspaper classified ads, check at craigslist.com, check out free "autotrader" magazines at your supermarket.
