- just make sure you know more then the dealer
- My husband and I bought a brand new SUV in May. We did all our shopping online after finding out what the invoice price was for the vehicle we wanted. It made it really easy- we told the dealerships that someone else had already offered us the vehicle for invoice price, but we would prefer to buy from them. We got the vehicle for the exact price we wanted, and all we had to do was go in and sign papers and pick up our new car!
- Research the car you want. Think about what you truly want in a car. I hated the way chrysler pacificas looked on the outside, but decided that they had everything I was looking for. I spent months looking online for the pacifica in my price range. I bought it within 3 days of seeing it. I made an excellent choice, because I had researched on edmunds.com and other sites. I talked to many people about what types of cars they had and if they were happy. ALWAYS buy a car that is about 2-3 years old that has under 35,000 miles on it. Keep looking until you find one in your price range. I got such a good deal on mine I could sell it and MAKE money on it. I bought mine from a very small dealer who does everything himself, and buys fleet leased cars from auctions. Our car is gorgeous on the inside, so I wouldn't dream of selling it anyway.
