Is there actually a BEST TIME to BUY a NEW car?
I need to buy a new car but I'm not sure when to actually buy it. I've heard to wait until the end of any given month. I've heard to wait until the end of the year (end of December). Please give me your input. Today is the November 28th. Do I want to buy it right now? Q: Am I going to get a better deal on November 29th vs (say for example) December 13th? Please help me out with any advice...

- September. That's when dealers wanna clear the lots for the next year models that get realeased (always in September)
- I'm on car 14 and I've found it best to wait until the end of the month, but end of the year may be even better. You should be able to find a brand new 2007 model right now for much less than a 2008. They don't want to have brand new 2007s on the lot in the new year.
- YES! i does matter! you always want to wait until end of month! because dealerships usualy get new inventory at that time. Its all a game of supply and demand! When they are overstocked with newly arrived vehicles they want to rid themselves of ones that have been sitting on the lot for over a month so they will generaly accept a lower price. Also the type of car you are looking to get will have a big play on how much it will cost you! buying a Small sports car now will definantly be ALLOT cheaper if you buy it now that it would cost you in mid-summer to buy that same car. on the other hand dealerships usualy jack up the prices of 4X4's and SUV's for the winter so be careful and be smart! good luck!!!
- The answer to your questions is never. The best thing to do is buy a gently used car. The second you drive a new car off of the lot it looses 20-30% of its value, putting you upside down on the loan unless you paid a large down payment. I would look for a 2004-2006 used car and save yourself some money while still finding a good car. In regards to the answer you were really looking for, the best time to buy is at the end of the month when the salesmen are looking to meet quotas. The end of the year is a good time too because they want to reduce their inventory before they get hit with an inventory tax on all of their stock as of Jan 1.
- Its not a bad time thats for sure. Many dealers are looking to clear the lots to make room for the 2008 models, so i think they would be more eager to sell. Just make a reasonable offer.
