How can some people write reviews of new cars (Cadillac CTS 08) when these cars are not at dealers yet?

These cars are due at the dealers in mid to late Sept.

Public Comments

  1. Automotive writers get to see and test drive these cars many months before they are on sale...
  2. Automotive journalists are usually invited by the manufacturers to review the cars before they hit the market Its called advance marketing and creats a buzz.
  3. they get 'em why before the dealer gets the Cadillac lets car and driver and othe magizines before they get to the dealer so people want to got buy them when the car get to dealers
  4. Cadillac CTS info and road test and reviews plus in Dealers show room since JUNE 12 2007. This is the early EDITION. LATE EDITION September 13 2007 CANADA. They have been on the drawing board for the last seven years. and on the prooving grounds for over one and a half years.
  5. Personally I don't care about reviews for cars that are not available yet. The reason is that I don't trust what someone says, for example in a review by autoweek television they said that the Ford Edge was not well tough out and so on putting it down. Bull crap I tested one and I love it, I couldn't afford it but is a very nice car nothing like they made it to be on their review. It seems that every expensive vehicle is well tough out to them so I would say bias, what would you call it? Another example is the Ford Flex not yet available but some reviews are already putting it down, I can guarantee that when people actually drive it they will most likely like it. What do guys that drive BMW's, Mercedes know about what the real public feels comfortable with. I for one don't have money to trow away buying a BMW or a Mercedes, don't get me wrong they are nice cars but way way out of my price range so why would I trust someone who drives them on a daily basis to tell me that a vehicle that I can afford is crappy.
  6. Bruce , they have been at the dealers since the first/ middle of Aug. They keep them hidden till they can get rid of the '07's first. Been this way for yrs
  7. They are invited to have a test drive of the new models to try and keep people interested enough to order prior to release. That way they have already bought it prior to everyone realising it is a lemon and you cant give it away
