Looking to buy a new car, help me decide?
I really want to buy a new car and I'll be ready to do that in a couple of months. I really like the Ford Focus and Toyota Corolla. Reviews for the Corolla seem to be better but I don't want to get the same kind of car as the girl I work closely with. I don't want her to think that I am copying her. Should I just go with the Focus?

- Who cares about copying someone else. If anyone says you're copying them, just say it's the best form of flattery, so they should be proud. Get the car that fits you better. If you like the Corolla, get it. In response to drag1line, I would argue NOT to buy based on where the product originated. Buy only the superior product, be it American, Japanese, European, Korean, etc. America cannot depend on people to buy inferior products rather than creating better products. If you want to help American businesses, force these businesses to create products that you want. Don't buy products you don't want because you think it'll help them stay in business. Make them grow their business by creating products that not only Americans will buy, but people the world over. It's tough love.
- I agree with the answer above. Focus' are pretty wack. I remember a joke on Madd TV about the Focus being the least cool car ever even with a freakin Spoiler! Ha! The Corolla has great gas mileage, is more attractive, and is a Toyota. The best cars either come from Chevy or Toyota! GO WITH THE COROLLA!
- Lots of people have Corollas so its not copying and I doubt that girl will even care. I think you'll be happier with a Toyota. You'll have less maintenance problems and better gas mileage.
- In my humble opinion, go with the Corolla. My friend has an older one that has oodles of miles and it is still kickin' like chicken. Also, if you ever want to trade in your vehicle or sell it, the Toyota keeps a better retention value (because of how well it is put together) Just my two-cents. Good luck!
- Go with the Corolla! A MUCH better car! And who cares what she thinks??? It's not as if you're going to buy the EXACT same car, You'll have your own colour/options. If she says anything, just pay her a compliment. " I liked yours so much that I researched it and found it to be a really great choice"
- I agree to not follow the crowd. How about being proud to be and support America and the last remaining basis of manufacturing to decrease the deficit. Put and American flag on the US car and be proud that the profit stayed in the US. and not some screw driver plant using imported parts for the majority of the car.
