How do i get a vehicle title with only a bill of sale?
I bought a jeep in the spring and was trailering it to go wheeling, but now i sold my car and my truck is a gas hog so i was looking to get my jeep on the road. when i bought it, it was said to be a salvaged vehicle and the title was lost at the salvage yard, so i got a bill of sale. if anyone knows how to possibly get a title form a bill of sale or if it is even possible. i dont know if its any different other places but im in pennsylvania.

- Well- first thing you r have to do is have the vehicle Light and Brake inspected. Go to your local .gov site and locate a certified Salvage title inspection station. Thay usually run 100-150 bucks for the inspection., then after you get the OK you will have totake the vehicle and the certificate to the highway patrol station- and show them the documentation- you have recieved. Then you will go to the longest line- in the world- The "D.M.V" dundunduoneeeee--LOL- and they will ask for all the documents plus the bill of sale!!!!!! Badabing youve been titled!!!
- Some states won't title a Salvage vehicle. Here in ALA a Salvage unit is good for parts only. To put it back on the road you must have a rebuildable license. If the Jeep is older than a 1985 then you can get a NEW aftermarket title. There is s place in Birmingham, AL and one in Las Vegas, NV. I could find the address and phone number if you need them.
- There is a process to do this, your local Dept. of motor vehicles will give you the appropriate paeprwork to do this. It takes a bit of time, but it can be done. Each state is a bit different. In California, there is a rather large stack of forms to complete. It is done to make sure, no previous owner has claims on the vehicle, hope this helps. Fyi. it is not a slam dunk easy thing to do!
