what would you do?
we bought a trailer 2 months ago and now we are selling it on ebay as we no longer have the car with a tow bar on it and we are buying an estate so a trailer is no longer needed however we keep getting emails from a guy sayin it is his and he had his stolen he wont tell us how long it has been stolen for and wont give us any info i telephoned to police as he keeps threatening us they told us to get ac rime reference number off him and the area and date it was stolen so we can compare when we bought it from a carboot sale also so the police can check the reference number and tell us if it is the same brand trailer so i emailed the guy asking for this info but he hasnt emailed back i dont know what to do i dont wanna give him it if he is connig us but i don t want to have his trailer if it is his also he has just registered on ebay as well so he got no feedback what would you do i dont know whether to take it off ebay thanx in advance

- I would inform ebay what is going on and ask them for help - in the meantime keep the police informed and take their advice - sounds like he is bluffing you. good luck
- if he cant provide you with any proof of the crime,or ownership i would ignore him. but for the time being i would remove the item from eBay and wait to see if anything develops. i assume that you cant contact the person from whom you bought this item off?
- First off if he's harassing you, you should report him to police for harassment. Otherwise if you are not convinced that its his trailer you have the option of removing the trailer from ebay and then repost it from some other id, so this guy gets off your back. I guess this is not a very good option if you have feedback rating etc.
- Take the advert off ebay and put the trailer in your local paper or put a card in your local shop advertising it for sale. You might be able to block emails from this person. You know that you have done nothing wrong so please don't take any notice of him. He sounds like a nutter. Good luck.
- If he hasnt emailed you back then I think he was trying to pull a fast one. I wouldnt take it off ebay, you have done the right thing by contacting the police so everything is documented. He has to prove this is his trailer and he hasnt done so.
- 'Stick to your guns'Insist where the trailer was stolen and was it reported to the police! And if so would he give you a crime reference number! If you bought it from a car boot sale does make it hard to obtain information where the person who sold you the trailer got it from!
