Car engine converted to run on propane. What exactly does that mean?

I'm looking at cars for sale but I don't know much about cars in general. This one in particular has an eight cylinder engine. The seller says the engine's been converted to run on propane. What exactly does this mean, especially in regards to fuel efficency vs. cost, environmental impact, and also...where would I fill up? thanks for the help.

  1. take ur gas grill of ur deck, hook it up to ur car and peace out man!
  2. Well... It's mean basically what it says. It no longer is fueled by Gasoline, it is fuel by LPG (Liquid Propane Gas) which does get better mileage, and burns cleaner... BUT, good luck keeping it fueled up, you will not be stopping at just any Gas Station to refuel... that is the major drawback to LPG vehicles... Good Luck! PS... Not a big deal to convert back to gasoline either!
  3. that means u can you can grill on your radiator. Burgers and Weenies
