Would spending around £1000 on replacing the engine to a brand new one increase the market value?

Peugot 306 1.9 2001 I've researched the market value to be approx 1.5k The engine needs replacing. If I decided to go with reconditioned or brand new at the cost of approx £1000, would this be a good selling point to increase the market value of the car, what with the new engine only having say 100 miles on the clock at the point of sale.

1. sorry but it wont. it may help to make it easier to sell, you would get the same money for it if you got a second hand engine from a scrappy as you would with a new one.
