Do you need a bill of sale when giving a car for free to a spouse?

I will be signing over my car to my husband and I was wondering if I had to make a bill of sale since I will be gifting it to him for free. We live in Kentucky but the title is from Massachusetts since we just moved down here.

3. yes you do, otherwise if he gets in an accident and you are still the owner, you can get sued! fill out all the correct paperwork before you hand over the car.
4. You will need to go to the courthouse to get your KY title, tags, regs.....etc. I believe you can take care of the ownership change there. Call your local DMV/courthouse and ask. They will be able to tell you exactly what you need to do.
