How do I get into a model car building competition or show?

Over the years I've painted and built classic lowriders, muscle cars, and tuners, some of which got lost in moving. However I beagan to restock my collection. I would really like to know how to get into a competition or show for this. If there are any other inthusiasts out there that can help with information, please do.
