I own a '93 Nissan Sentra Classic car. For the most part the vehichle has been very reliable. My only complaint is the rust. Rust appears mostly along the edges of the frame, above the wheels, door handles, and spots on the door. Compared to the rest of the frame, the rusted regions appear to swell a bit higher bubbling in regions. There is some flaking and in a couple areas there is a crack - one deep the other less so -- but mostly just the swelling effect. My first impression is sanding the areas down then recoating the car with much thicker paint. I went over to Canadian Tires to check for useful products and came across: Rust Check's Rust Converter, and Rust Removal. What are your thoughts on these products in assisting in removing rust, and the steps i should take in cost-effectively removing the rust / restoring the color on my vehicle. I am willing to go the DIY approach, if there's some good books/sites. Thanks! If it makes any difference, the rust spots can be about 5 inches across spanning the length of the frame above the wheel. It has a very coarse, bumpy feel to it.
