What time of year is best to buy a new car?

I am planning on buying a new car, but i'm not sure when is the best time to do it. Do car dealers have better offers at certain times of the year? Or do they keep their prices the same?

2. Now before the new models come out. Dealers want to clear their lots for the new models and the more cars they sell of one year, the more they get of the new year's models making them a more desireable dealership.

4. depends if youi are going for a brand new car or a secon hand car offers all year on new cars play one dealer off another dealer choose the car you want first then get prices over the phone to avoid heavy sales tactics

6. They have better offers when the new models come out For example NOW the new 2007 models are coming out so the dealers need to make room by selling the (still new) 2006 models
7. i think towards Christmas is a good time as not many people are buying cars. or just before reg. changes

The best thing to buy is a nearly new or ex demo car the benefit of buying nearly new is the initial depreciation that you would have with a new car has already come off the price when buying 1 say 6 months old , the benefit of buying ex demo car is they're usually fully loaded with optional extras and maintained to the highest level , but shop around and if you can buy without finance then do so it might seem cheap to pay in instalments but you usually end up paying twice for the car over 3-5 years better to pay cash and try for a discount, also best time to buy is just before new registration comes out dealers want old stock gone ready for new .
10. Used private- id say around xmas and Jan, as now one has any money and needs a quick sale New- just before a new plate come out. an 8 month old new car is worth a lot less than an equivalent brand spanking new motor.
