What is the least expensive brand new car one can purchase off the lot these days?
I would like to buy a car for my kids graduation without spending a fortune. The only thing here that matters is that it is new, has air conditioning, and some sort of warranty.

- Hyundai Accent. $9995 after discounts for the stripped model. For a/c you'll need the preferred package, which adds about a grand. The Chevy Aveo is also about $11,000 after adding a/c to the base model. Both cars have 100,000 mile warranties.

- The LEAST expensive in the U.S. is a Chevy Aveo http://chevy.com/aveo I'd also go for a Hyundai Accent: http://www.hyundaiusa.com/vehicle/accent/accent.aspx or a KIA Rio: http://kia.com/rio **The Chevy Aveo has the Chevy 100,000 mile/5-year fully transferable Powertrain Limited Warranty, Roadside Assistance Program and Courtesy Transportation Program on every 2008 car, SUV and light-duty truck, so you’ll receive the best coverage in America.** Good Luck.
- The kia is a great investment, as well as a hyundai. If you look at a chevy, the Cobalt is a better deal. It is safer than the Aveo and a lot roomier. I would suggest going out to the lots with your youngin and see which one they like the best. Remember you can always buy a used car and have the remaining warranty go with it. Suzuki also makes small great gas mileage cars that are cheap as well. If its for your kid, make sure thye like it, and that way the'll want to drive it.
