Where can you get information on a local car police auction?

I live in the Sacramento region and I feel like buying a truck or SUV for less than a thousand bucks right now...is there a place to find police auctions on the internet? The price is very important, I'm not gonna pay more than a thousand bucks, and it only has to last me a few years. My last car was totaled, and as a 16 year old, my budget isn't very large, but a cop told me about these, and I need more info
