  1. you are too young to be a car salesman. you need experience in sales and knowledge in cars. which seems to me you have neither. it means nothing that you dont know how to drive a stick shift. unless they ask you that in the interview, which im sure is their main concern, but thats only if you ever get that far...
  2. My nephew got a job selling cars when he was 18, during summer break from college at the local Southern California Subaru dealer. With his knowledge and enthusiasm he was a hit with the owner of the dealership as well as a favorite of the customers. Age has nothing to do with being a good salesman, knowledge, personality and enthusiasm as well as really listening to what the customer wants is what will get you far. It won't hurt to give it a try, remember during an interview you're selling your image to the dealer, so be presentable, study the product you would like to sell before you go there, do a little research on the history of the dealership (if possible) and good luck. By the way he was well liked and was asked to come back and sell the following break.
  3. you could get hired it depends on your personality, looks and ability too bullshit the retail sales is a dog eat dog world, and any one who tells u different is lying. i started when i was 18 but just like the other guy said they liked me a helped me good luck
