Why is no sound coming from my speakers in a 2003 Civic?

My rear right speaker has apparently blown (it only makes a static noise and the rear left speaker noise is faint, so I figured there was a power issue). So, I directed all the sound to come out of my front speakers yesterday. This made the volume much louder out of these speakers than that same volume setting normally does. This morning in the car, the sound just suddenly stopped. If i turn it off for 20 minutes, then turn it back on, I hear a short burst of static and the nothing. I have a stock radio and I haven't touched anything. I have no owner's manual and no fuse box diagram as I bought the car used a month ago. Help!

  1. if you blasted it you could have burnt out the speakers
  2. its technolgy s*** breaks just get it fixed plus when u buy a USED car ask alot of questions
  3. The odds that you blew out all the speakers at the same time is pretty low. Its possible that you blew out a fuse, or that you have a short in the line somewhere that is preventing the speakers from working at all.
  4. Sounds like you have a bare wire somewhere touching ground. Could be too where the previous owner re-installed the factory system & didn't verify all the connections were clean & tight.
