getting your credit report?

My mom told me there are three credit companies. experian, equifax, and transunion. she said online I could get a report from each one along with my credit score...for free. I THINK (im not totally sure) my score is 598. and I need to get a car loan. I want to buy a used car and I found a 2001 ford focus for $2000 as long as I pay cash to the dealer. But I dont know what my next step should be I found a car but I have no clue where to go from here on a lan. any advice would be apprecieted. also I was thinking of going to my bank to see about a loan since I have been with them for 2 years and never been over drawn and have direct deposit. also I make over $1600 a month.

  1. You can get one free report per year (for each) at www.annualcreditreport.com. They do not, however, give you credit scores. Those you need to pay for.
  2. The first poster is correct about annualcreditreport.com. As far as the loan goes you will be much better off going to your own local bank or credit union.
