What is the safest way to send payment for buying a car online?

I live in the Bahamas but I want to buy a car online from someone in the US. I found a good deal but it sounds to good to be true. Is there a online company that sends the seller half and holds the rest of the money until i confirm when i receive the car that its in the condition the seller promised and then releases it when i says its ok? I need a payment plan for me and the seller to be safe.

  1. if it sounds to good to be true i would not do it
  2. You could have the transport company pay the money after an inspection.
  3. I agree with Shaq iz Phat, pay someone in the US to inspect the vehicle first and also have someone check for a clean and clear title. Then you need to do as Shaq iz Phat said, have a transport company handle this for you 1/2 and 1/2. This way you will be protected all the way around.
  4. Word of advice--people typically have a gut feeling when something is not right. Go with that gut feeling, even if it is a really good offer, if it doesn't feel right it probably isnt!
