Nissan Murano vs. Ininiti FX35/45?
I'm looking into getting a new car and am looking at both the Infiniti & the Nissan SUV and wonder which one is better. Also, should I lease or buy outright ?

- Well Infiniti is made by Nissan, so they are basically going to be the same thing with the exception that the Infiniti model has more horsepower, probably a few nicer options in it, but will also be much more expensive. Leasing depends on a few things. How many miles a year do you drive? If its more than 15,000 a year, then leasing is a bad decision. Also, do you plan on keeping it for at least 3 years? Cuz it is very difficult to get out of a lease early. And if you plan on doing any custimizations or rough driving don't do a lease. Remember, when you lease, you are renting the car and it is not yours. But a lease will be significantly cheaper per month, and you will be left with nothing at the end of the contract.
- I used to think they were the same vehicle until I went to work for an Infiniti dealer. However, the only thing they share is the engine. The Murano is front-wheel drive and built off the Maxima/Altima platform and comes with a CVT transmission. It is aimed more at comfort than all-out performance. The FX is rear-wheel drive and is built from the G35 sedan platform. It has a traditional automatic transmission and is tuned for more performance. Also, they build the car with all-wheel drive as an option as well as the FX 45 which features a V8. Both cars are recommended and drive great. The Nissan will have a better price point since the standard equipment level is less than the FX. The FX has the Infiniti 5-year warranty but is probably going to be $5k-$10k higher depending on equipment levels. This difference will add $100-$200 to your payment over 5 years if you have good credit. The nice thing about your question is that it is win-win and you should drive both vehicles before you make a decision. Good Shopping!!
