What is your opinion on the 2006 Dodge Durango?

I am test-driving a 2006 Dodge Durango w/46,000 miles. It was a lease turn-in. Have you gotten good service from yours? If not, what kind of problems did you have? I have never had a Dodge before, so I'm not sure about them. I know most people think American-made cars are not as good as foreign, but I have had excellent service from 2 Chevy Cavaliers & my Pontiac TransAm, so I'm not too leery about buying an American-made. I just wanted to know if there were any major problems in general that I should know about. Also, what kind of mileage do you get? It's a V-6. Thanks!

1. What I have seen is the gas mileage is not super. They also have trouble with ball joint trouble on some of those. So I would check that out threw a dealer. To see if that on a recall or not.
2. I have owned or used at work, a few Dodge's and all of them have had reliability problems. Gas mileage has always been a downfall for them. I understand the thinking of American cars not as good as others, however, I loved my Cavalier Z24, 2- Chevy Astro's, 2- Chevy Blazers, and now a Silverado. Even if the Chevy isn't as reliable as some of the foreign makes, they at least stand behind their work. I've never had a problem with honoring a warranty with GM. Dodge refused to honor theirs with one of my previous Dodges. I guess that is my opinion. Good luck
3. Dodge is the only American company worth buying a car or truck from. Dodge cars and trucks are far more reliable than any ford or chevy. Chevy and Fords are proven the worst vehicles in the market. My chevy trucks tranny went out at 40K, lol now that was a great surprise.
4. the durango,s,have gave problems with transmissions and also other various problems,and have had a few recalls on them,ask about it before you buy it ,make sure it has no major problems,if its coming from a dealer more than likely they have taken care of all the problems with it,and it may be a good vehicle,but the ones i see are still giving all kinds of minor problems,enough to make me not want one,good luck.
