- If i were you, i would go for something that is affordable, good quality, and gets great gas mileage....TOYOTA Carolla. I have had Toyota vehicles and I have maintained them with the regular maintenance and have not had any major problems with them. My mom, does have a Ford vehicle and as soon as she paid it off, she had problems with the transmission and other costly repairs.
- You should locate a copy of the April edition of Consumer Reports. Once a year, in April, they devote an entire edition to automobiles, new and used, with ratings, facts and figures on used cars obtained from reader surveys. This is a premier magazine that accepts NO advertising so it's an honest publication with an excellent reputation. Among other things they have a section on used cars, best & worst which should be of great interest to you.
- what are you looking for outside of those parameters, a sporty looking car or a serious performance car? consumer reports is worthless, btw
- Hey what a horrible amount of cash . It puts you into the bracket of so many nice cars , but they will be old nice cars and they are not nice . I would go for a 3 year old Mazda MX5 and put a body kit and re-spray on it :) nearly new car looking the bizzle
- With a $17000 budget you shouldn't have any problem finding a car. A used BMW 3 series coupe would be perfect. Finding anything new in that price range won't be easy. Buying used is a much better way to spend your money. The Mazda6 is a 4 door sedan, so is the Mazda3. The only Mazda 2 door is the RX8 and it's a 2 seater sports car. You've got the Toyota Solara, the Acura Rsx, the Honda Accord and Civic both come in coupes. Ford Focus, Mitsubishi Eclipse, Mini Cooper, Mustang (V6 is you want 20 mpg), the Nissan Altima now comes in a coupe (newer car, may not fit your budget), Pontiac G5 and G6. Chevy Cobalt, VW Rabbit. and many many more. If you like big cars the Monte Carlo is a coupe.
