why do people really buy hybrid cars?

doing a project to see who buys hybrid cars and what are their reasons behind doing so.

  1. I don't have a car, but if I did, I'd ideally get a hybrid. As expensive as gas is these days, the less I have to buy, the better.
  2. to really try and save on gas money and to really try to save the gas itself for the future.. and to produce less pollution so we might have clean air again. But there is a growing populous that the future is NOT gasoline...it is another type of fuel we can make in the USA
  3. Wackos buy hybrids... really, I mean they are the most ugly cars out there. Good gas millage or a car you are not hiding your face when you drive... your choice.
  4. Susposly it saves money on buying gasoline.
  5. I believe there are also some tax credits for buying hybrids
  6. In the past few years there was a great tax cut for people who went hybrid...this is the last year for the tax break which the nerfed anyway.
  7. they are gay
  8. because they like going slow
  9. grow a beard everyone will like you then. steal a cat and eata hamburger while laughing people like that. take the cat to a witch and have it eat the witch then your cat will have powers. grow a beard everyone will like you then. steal a cat and eata hamburger while laughing people like that. take the cat to a witch and have it eat the witch then your cat will have powers. grow a beard everyone will like you then. steal a cat and eata hamburger while laughing people like that. take the cat to a witch and have it eat the witch then your cat will have powers.
  10. I don't have a hybrid, but I have seriously considered one in the past. Gasoline prices are an issue with me. I also like how they not as pollectible and thus are also better for those with allergies. I would like to see a true hybrid that has the nice bells and whistles in a wagon style car or a small SUV. One thing that I am still debating is whether it is better to save money on gasoline by driving a hybrid with paying for the hybrid option up front (hybrids usually cost a bit more than a similar car) or to get a nicer better car but pay more for gasoline each week. It is a toss up, imo. motherinprincess
  11. well people wanna get them to do their part in conservation, but I doubt it saves any money. For one as much as they spend for the car, its prolly cheaper to buy gas- and by the time their investment starts to show a savings they will prolly fall apart and need repairs- I would bet repairs on them is double the cost of regular cars
  12. People by hybrids to: Save on Gas In their mind think, they are saving the environment

  14. People drive hybrids to BE SEEN driving a hybrid. It's fashionable to do your bit to save the environment, and the bigger the "hybrid" logo on the back of your Prius, the better. They can do just as well saving fuel by buying a smaller car, or better yet, by simply driving less. Case in point: Prince Charles owns his own private plane and helicopter, not to mention Aston Martins, Range Rovers, Bentleys, and similar gas guzzling British leviathans, also owns a Prius. Why? Just....Why?
  15. Fuel efficiency, but not for overall environmental impact. For now those cars are unusual, but most of the manufacturers only see the gas-electric hybrids as a way to secure market share as technology is perfected for fuel cells. Many hybrid owners likely enjoy buying the latest technology. Also, those cars have been heavily subsidided by the manufacturer, with several thousand dollars lost on each unit sold, which is written off as a means of advertising, research and development. Even so, the hybrids tend to be expensive relative to their performance.
