I was getting my car towed and it fell off the tow truck, is it my fault?
Had my Bmw in at the experts at autozone to have them diagnose why my engine light is on. They sold me 4 O2 sensors so I installed them in the parking lot there, meanwhile 500 dollars later my check engine light is still on and im not going to take it to a mechanic because i be get ripped off. Is there any cheap fix to this, and some free instructions online so i can get the light out? Also the car fell off the tow truck, the tow truck driver didn't even notice, should I cancel my insurance?

- If you did not put it on the tow truck yourself and a worker of the towing company put it on their tow truck then it is their fault, he did not do something right when getting it on the tow truck and mounting it. I would report this to your insurance company and take it court to handle it if they don't want to pay up.
- Ok if you go to the zone for a check engine light why are you driving a bmw? If you can't afford to fix it don't drive it. Autozone will sell you a part not a fix. Odds are you have a vac leak or an intake gasket gone bad. If you had it towed and it fell off the truck the tow company should have insurance to cover the damage, if not, oh well, you picked them.
- check engine light may be on cuz u probly have bad powertrain control module get that checked out and also can b bad sensors other than that with dat tow truck droping your car its not your fault its theirs they suppose to double check make sure car is secure so its 100% their fault hope this helps
- Will ,DUDE!!! You need to ditch the AUTOZONE "PROS" and find yourself a dependable repair facility... If indeed you are really bying all these O2 sensors just from what the "wannabe part specialists" behind the counter at "THE ZONE" Like I have said before---This is FAR from a diagnostic effort... But they are pretty good salesmen, HUH? I mean, they sold you a butt load of oxy sensors and then sent you on your way... As for the beemer off the hook???? Are you kidding me??? whatever...
- LMAO
- Yes, actually, there is an easy fix. Take a punch and a hammer, now place the punch over the light, and aggressively pound it with the hammer until the light goes out. Many do not know it, but this is another method of resetting your Check engine light, especially on those BMW's. Once you have reset the light, don't worry (it won't come back on), now you only need to start it up and drive it around, I'm sure no one will notice the small scratch the pavement left when it fell off the truck. I wish you well. Isn't it amazing how people think that the guys at Auto Zone can attach a $50 code reader and tell them exactly whats wrong with their vehicle. Thx for the laugh.
- just replacing the 02 sensors will not turn off the light it has to be erased from the computer........ if it was erased by the zone and it came back on then there other codes in the computer that need to be addressed.... and as far as the tow co they are responceable for any damage to your vehicle.... was it on a flat bed or a wheel lift tow truck ?
