we bought a car for 100 dollars but the car doesnt work and now she wont pay us back our money what do we do?
the girl we bought the car from said all we had to do to get the car to start was buy a couple of fuses but we bought the fuses and now it still doesnt work after we told her we wanted our money back she said no that she didnt want the car back and that we werent getting our money back so she basically screwed us over 100 dollars and now she wants us to buy a new starter which she was not apart of our deal and plus she said that after we fix the car if we do that we need to pay her 400 more dollars for the car but that if its just not gonna work at all that we can do whatever we want which would be ok but the car is still under the guys name that she first bought it from so we cant even sell it to the impound so if we take her to court would we get our money and would she get into bigger trouble cause she sold to an unlicenced citizen and not only that but she sold us a car that wasnt under her name and we didnt know that of course until after we bought the car plus she skipped town

- You have both skirted the law and you both must pay the consequences for your actions. I would recommend not putting any money into a car for which you have no title.l Surely you know you can't expect much for $100. Cut your loss and move on. If you want revenge put the car where it will rack up parking tickets for the legal owner.
- why did you think a car you buy for $100 was going to function? i'd say it's your own fault
- you are pretty much out of luck...you can try to sue her, but it wouldn't be worth it for a hundred bucks. just cut your loses and learn from this. good luck to you
- You get what you pay for. If you buy a car for $100.00, you can pretty much guarantee it will need lots of work. She sucks for lying to you like she did. Unfortunately, I don't think there is much you can really do about it. Just take it as a lesson learned.
- If you have a receipt or bill of sale you can take car to scrap yard and sell it by the ton. Mixed scrap is $220.00 to 280.00 a ton locally -this is car body less tires and fuel tank, drained air conditioning. $100.00 is going rate for 2 ton cars- the salvage prep is a couple hours or you can do it yourself and haul it in cut up. A police inspection or VIN trace for stolen and receipt -if lacking title-is what scrap dealer needs to buy it from you. You paid going scrap rate for the car- can't complain if it is just scrap.
- The lemon law lets you get your money back from her but since she skipped, you are screwed. Contact the original owner and see if you can get the title. You could also try to contact your state rep to help you, that's what they are there for. You don't have to have a license to buy a car. You need one to drive a car. Did you at least test drive it?
- Nothing. you would both get into trouble. And did you really think a $100 car would run.
- What do you expext for $100??? Besides, in private sales, it is final unless you have a written warranty from the owner. You should have had it checked out by a mechanic before buying. Buyer Beware.....Whose name was the car under? Is it a stolen car or did she just never transfer it into her name? If the latter is the case, the ONLY thing you may be able to do is take her to civil court for the $100 (yes, only the $100) because a person selling the car has to be able to guarantee that the seller can legally title the car, which it sounds like you can't do. Otherwise, seeing as she has skipped town, maybe you should just chalk it up to a stupid decision.
- A car for 100 dollars only? And without even checking the car you paid the amount and now you found out that the car is defective is some ways you want to sue the person who sold you the car. What is 100 dollars now a days? It is obvious the car is now a junk. You are pursuing such a course to sue the guy for a mere 100 dollars, are you insane? In litigation alone you will spend at least $10,000 to 12,000 and you fighting for a $100 car. Give me a break here. Of course it is defective, imagine the price $100, any person can bought a prostitute for that amount or more in downtown area. Some prostitute charge for $200/hr. Even the registration of the car is also a problem. Forget it and just hire a mechanic to fix it, you cannot even sold it because of registration problem.
