Best place to sell a junked car to?

Where would a good place be to unload a used van at? It runs, but barely, and isn't really safe, so I'm thinking a junkyard, but I wonder if there's another place for that? Also, how much could i expect to get for it? It's got a workable body and the parts all work, but the transmission's on its last leg so that's shot. 50 bucks? 500?

1. Strip it of parts and sell the parts on eBay. You'll end up with more money than if you sell the vehicle itself. It's a lot of work but could be worth it.
2. a junkyard will give ya $50 last I heard...you could also consider donating it to the goodwill if its in that bad of condition. You can take it as a deduction for charity on your taxes
3. junk yard or ebay for parts
4. Any of the above will work but depending on the year, make and model you could donate it and use it as a tax write off as well.
